We were able to pick up the heartbeat on the Doppler last night! Don’t know how I forgot how amazing that sound is. It’s seriously helping my nerves since we have to wait till October for an appt.
And i also bought a new diaper bag.
I actually didn’t need to since ours is still good but I’ve been eyeing a new one and it was on super sale, down to $29.99 from $69.99. It’s the first thing I have bought in regards to this baby.

@thatbaintforbetty We have a Doppler too. It’s the only thing that comes me sane between doctor appoints.
Which diaperbag did you get? I ended up using a Fisher Price backpack diaper bag a lot with my LO. It wasn’t my favorite look wise but super practical. I want to upgrade this pregnancy with a backpack that I like.
IDK WTF someone just heated up for lunch but it's about to put me over the edge. Ughhh.
I'm hella nervous because our NT US is this afternoon. I can't wait to see the babies again. Thank goodness my boss gave me a super tedious project to finish before then. Only three hours till I leave!
@mamakat0105 it’s a hip cub canvas diaper bag in navy and white stripe, it was on on deal of the day yesterday on amazon. Kind of looks like the a skip hop but half the price. It comes with a changing pad and has really good reviews. I think amazon still has it on sale for 39.99. They have a backpack that is sorta boxy and reminds me of the petunia ones.
I had an obersee backpack before and it was great. I didn’t actually need a new diaper bag, I just wanted one, lol.

I let SIL borrow my dopper a few years ago. I don't want to tell her I am pregnant so I guess i need to buy a new one but can't find it online!
**TW- Since we were/are having complications I really want one, but our appt is on monday so I am trying to hold out before I jump the gun. but if I could hear it maybe I would feel better END TW***

I’ve had so many dreams telling me the sex of this baby that if it’s not a boy I feel like I’m going to be a little bit disappointed. Also I want to bathe in a tub of jalepeno cheese poppers. The ones with the cream cheese filling.
My Bella Band is saving my life this week!! While I haven’t gained even a pound (I’m 9w2d), I am so, so bloated that I look visibly pregnant! Seriously though, I don’t know what I’d do without it. Today’s my wedding anniversary, and hubs and I are going out to Red Rooster in Harlem tonight — extra glad I have some extra room in my pants today!! 😄
I am growing a low risk HEALTHY baby girl! I got the call from the doctor's office in my therapy appointment today and burst into tears. I'm still riding the high.
@kyashley1227 Mine too. And my mom will be coming over periodically this weekend while we are out of town to check on the cat. I gotta bust ass this week to clean everything.
I want a nap just thinking of all the cleaning I have do. Ugh.

@thatbaintforbetty my mom is coming tomorrow, with my Aunt from Chile! I also have to take the kids to a doctors appt an hour away, and I have no motivation to put all the laundry away and mop the floors. At least I can get DH to clean the bathrooms tonight and the kitchen and mudroom are already clean lol
@professormama and @llamamamanyc do you guys have any side panel maternity pants? Those are seriously where it's at. I have a pair that I've been wearing since I had my daughter 2 years ago! They are THE BEST.
Our weekend was a bit of a shit show. A tornado touched down in our city Friday night and I'm pretty sure that has never happened before. I am happily shocked that there were no fatalities given how bad one area got hit. We were without power for just over a day and that was bad enough. There are about 3000 people who still don't have power. Some in our neighbourhood have trees on their houses, roofs blown off... It's nuts how the damage can be so bad in one place and literally right beside it is perfectly fine. I'm thankful that the worst part of my weekend was that I was hangry because I didn't have enough non-perishable snack food. It was certainly enough excitement to last me for a while...
@candicek15 sorry to hear you were effected by that tornado! Some of the pictures are so crazy!! H's family lives in Toronto and Ottawa so we've been on the phone checking in with everyone over there a lot. One cousin had a baby a day before the tornado and they are without power still! They're at an aunt's house, but dealing with a newborn in someone else's house must be so difficult.

Good good to know! Thanks, @candicek15! I haven’t bought any maternity clothing yet. Making due with my pre-preg stuff for now, but will definitely look for some side panel pants soon!
Scary about the tornado in your area! Glad to hear you’re safe!
I have been feeling unusually down the last couple of days. I was hoping that things will ease up as I get closer to 12 weeks. Everything tastes bitter and all I want to do is sleep. But alas work calls with a critical deadline fast approaching. On a side note can't wait to see this little munchkin in 2 weeks. Eager to start shopping 😁
@candicek15 I have some pants with pocket panels. Haven’t pulled them out yet. But I’m thinking I will real soon. Also, glad you’re safe after the tornado. Scary stuff though.
@harveyisaboysname OMG Jalepeno poppers! I have been craving those for weeks now and still haven't been able to get my hands on them. No good restaurants have them that we've been to lately and I keep forgetting to remind DH to pick them up from the grocery store. Tonight might be the night for me to remember since i have to stop for mushrooms anyway.
My pants are just now starting to get uncomfortable buttoned and yesterday my sweatshirt was a bit tight and my mother commented on it so that's how I know I'm starting to show a tiny bit. Still buttoning them though so that's a small accomplishment. I think my MIL still has my maternity stuff stored at her house so I need to hold out until I get those back.
So, in addition to prepping meals at some point when the due date draws nearer, I’ve also started thinking about prepping activities for my older child. Right now I’ve got water beads, Tongs, and an ice scoop on my list. I’m thinking a sensory bin with those. I can also sub in rice for a similar activity. What are your other favorite go-to busy activities that can be prepped in advance? I don’t mind using the TV now and then, but I’m terrified that post baby I’ll end up relying on it way too much. Sooo, planning now!
@professormama a lot of times the target dollar section has activity books. I’ve gotten some cute felt books and magnet activity tins. Also my kids love play dough. I am guilty of too much tv and letting them play ABC Mouse on their iPads (it’s educational right??) especially in the winter. At least in the summer we spend a lot of time outside
DS played with knock-off magnatiles for four hours the other day - do you have some of those @professormama? Also cutting out pictures from magazines or catalogs to make collages.
@MRDCle magnet tiles are a staple at our house! Those are one of the few toys that get played with every day.
I just found this website: www.dayswithgrey.com and it’s awesome! I’m planning to have a bunch of bins and baggies with pre-prepared activities all stored in the closet to pull out on demand. I’m going to try one out after school tomorrow - I’ll draw circles on paper and put numbers in them. Then he can put the correct number of stickers in each circle.
@professormama, not sure of the age of your little one, but I just saw something cool the other day that could be prepped in advance. Use watercolor paper and a white crayon to draw numbers/shapes/letters on the paper, then the kiddo has to use watercolor paint to magically reveal the letters. The paint doesn't stick to the wax from the crayon, just like when you use white crayons to decorate Easter eggs.
Haven't done it myself yet, but sounds like a fun way to keep a kiddo entertained! I'm hoping to use it for word recognition with my 4yo also.
DH totally got that I am tired and have a million things to do and therefore do not want to cook tonight.
But he did not understand that his “let’s just go pick up a pizza” means I would have to leave the house again and wrangle DD is to something resembling clothing. Which I don’t really want to either.
Also he means frozen pizza, which while it still entails cooking it’s much less cooking.

I just made double chocolate zucchini bread to use up some zucchini from the garden and it was delicious. In other news, I just booked tickets to go visit my parents for a week before going to DH's cousins wedding next month and I'm so excited for a vacation (they live at the beach). Not so excited about 4.5 hours worth of flying time with my 2 year old, but we will manage somehow!
@chelseay416 my secret to having an easy flight is going to target and buying some cheap new activities my kid has never seen before. Also snacks. Lots and lots of snacks.
@professormama I am the queen of airplane snacks for him. He goes through an absurd amount of them too. Also the little dumdum lollipops. We dont have a target but I should hit up Walmart for some new stuff for him to play with
My SIL is STILL trying to convince me to have a huge gender reveal party. She’s accepted that I plan on knowing the sex no matter what, and now she’s moved on to the idea of DH not knowing. What part of NO does she not understand??? THIS ISNT YOUR BABY!!!! I’m becoming increasingly more frustrated by the day, because i know she’s not going to stop with the party and the surprises. I’m not ready to deal with years of controlling behavior.
@sdelg09 I’d try and direct her energy to something you do want. Like a baby shower or sprinkle. She could make it coed so she still gets to surprise you with her party skills, but in a way you’ve given her permission? I’m sorry it’s frustrating
