Hi all! I'm just getting here and I'm not scheduled for an ultrasound quite yet. I love seeing all these pics and hearing about all the little victories you all had! Im excited to share when I get the chance! ❤
We had our first ultrasound today! We were estimating 6w1d today, and we measured that exactly! The pictures we got don’t show the baby very well because the US tech had measuring marks on them. She measured the heartbeat at 105. Such a relieving feeling seeing that little flicker!
So I had a really disappointing ultrasound 2 days ago. All the technician could see was the sac and the yolk but no baby, she did both a regular ultrasound and vaginal and same thing. I thought I was about 8 weeks and it could be possible that I am somehow 5-6 weeks but I remember with my DD I saw her on a scan at 5w6d. Still waiting for my doctor to call me, i'm expecting something today or tomorrow, has anyone had this?
@cikcikpolicnik the exact same thing happened to me yesterday. I was afraid to come on this board again because of it. Thank you for being brave enough to post.
We we had our transvaginal ultrasound yesterday when, according to my LMP I should have been 7 weeks 1 day. However, the US Tech only saw the gestational and yolk sac, but no baby. She said I looked like I was much earlier, like 5-6 weeks pregnant.
**TW** I was on an emotional rollercoaster for the rest of the appt. As soon as the US tech left the room I broke down and cried, terrified that I had done something to lose the baby. Thankfully DH was there to comfort me and my emotionally wrecked self. Before I met the doctor, I spoke with the US Tech and the nurse who checked me in and terrible trigger words were being thrown around as speculation such as “empty sac” and “unconfirmed pregnancy.” It wasn’t until the doctor came in that I really understood what was going on. The OB explained that it could be one of three things: 1. Their US equipment is off 2. My ovulation date was later in the month which would put actual conception later and lines up with the 5 week 3 day US. 3. Our LO is not growing properly and something may be wrong. **End TW**
Our OB was very cautiously optimistic that it was option 2 and has me scheduled for another US in two weeks when I should def be at least 7 weeks in. And, we’ll go from there.
You are not alone @cikcikpolicnik and I’m so grateful you posted because I know we are going to need this community now more than ever.
@beccabek92 sorry to hear you are going through the same thing but happy that we can both support each other here. I'm currently facing the same 3 options, I want to stay positive but know i'll have to wait 1-2 weeks to see if anything has changed. Do you have any change of symptoms at all? Praying and hoping for you too!
@cikcikpolicnik i haven’t had an ultrasound with his pregnancy yet, however this is what happened with Our last pregnancy. TW: I was approx 7/8 weeks when we went in (based on positive tests etc) and baby measured 5 weeks 6 days with a heartbeat. We went back 3 weeks later and baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks 5 days. We did opt for the genetic testing on the embryo and found out she had an “incompatible with life” trisomy. However, one of my close friends went in and she thought she was 7/8 weeks and baby measured barely 6 and she has a healthy 2.5 year old!
@cikcikpolicnik I have never been more grateful for sore boobs! And if we really are 5 weeks 4 days, it would explain why I haven’t gotten morning sickness yet. (I thought I was just a pregnancy unicorn.)
@cikcikpolicnick and @beccabek92 I am so sorry you're having to go through this stressful and emotional waiting period and questions. I've been there. Praying for you and your sweet babies!
@cikcikpolicnik@beccabek92 I am so sorry that y’all are going through this. I, too, have been there and I know there’s just really no way to soothe your nerves right now, I just pray for the days to go by quickly!!!!
Today was so hard for me. This was our big milestone ultrasound in my mind bc we’ve never gotten this far and I just went in fully expecting bad news. It really made me realize how effed up I am in the head from all of this. BUT. Everything was perfect. She even let us hear the heartbeat which was a surprise because they don’t normally do that at our practice and it was so much more amazing than I could have imagined it would be. And getting to see my husbands face when he heard it was just...sigh. Measuring 8 weeks exactly and working hard on those tiny arms and legs! I have two more with my RE and then pick right up with my OB after that, so grateful to not have a gap in care the time around!

@cikcikpolicnick and @beccabek92 I know first hand how difficult the waiting and not knowing is. Thinking of and praying for you both. Be kind to yourselves. 💗
I'm a double loss momma, so my specialist is monitoring me closely. All of my betas have been increasing well and I had my first ultrasound today. The dr dated me at 6w+2 (I thought I was 6w+5, but maybe little one took a few days to implant.)
got to hear the heartbeat today too! It was such a gift to get to hear it. Heart rate was 122 and so far everything looks good. He said if I can make it two more weeks my loss chance goes down significantly. Next ultrasound at 8 weeks.
Congratulations! Heres my first ultrasound which was taken at the ER at a predicted 5 weeks, 3 days along with my second pregnancy. Now I'm 6 weeks, 1 day. Due May 18, 2019.
I got my first ultrasound today. I had hoped it would provide some certainty, but instead it only left us with more concerns than ever.
If you see the two little dots in the black of my uterus, you'll realize there's twins in there! As of right now though, they're looking to be monoamniotic-monochorionic twins. This means they share a placenta and an amniotic sac, or they likely will if one of the twins doesn't get reabsorbed. However, since they both had their own yolk right now, it's poooooooosible (but not likely) that they'll each develop their own amniotic sacs. The result is either going to be that one of the twins will be lost or I will have a very high risk mo-mo pregnancy.
@missmcgonnagal that's amazing news!! I can't tell if you're excited or freaked out with the news, but either way, i hope it works out for the best! And thank you for sharing the awesome picture!
Should I be concerned that I don't have an ultrasound scheduled yet? I'm over 30 and currently 8w1d with my second. We didn't have an ultrasound with my first until the anatomy scan so I didn't think it was weird until my coworker who has the same due date as me had an ultrasound today and my BFF had hers at about 8 weeks last month.
I love seeing all the precious LOs on here! I can’t go in until the 11th (I’ll be about 8 weeks so it’s normal but I wanted to be seen sooner), but I’ll definitely be posting results here haha.
@missmcgonnagal sending love and prayers your way! Hope everything works out.
New mommy to be! EDD: 05/27/19 hoping for a girl!!!
@expandcontract Definitely freaking out. Hubs and I want both these babies but right now there's a lot of wiggle room for things to go very wrong. The doctor heavily implied that by next week's ultrasound one would likely stop growing/start to be reabsorbed. If the babies keep going and she is right about there only being one amniotic sac (which is apparently very rare and there's testimony online of people only seeing the second sac like 18 weeks in) I'm looking at inpatient hospitalization from 23 weeks on.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I really want both of these healthy babies.
@fuscok88 from my understanding, I think it’s normal to have the first ultrasound anywhere from week 6-12, to confirm your due date. I would definitely try and go ahead and get one scheduled though. Depending on the doctor, they may be booked for weeks.
Also, some women don’t even get that first ultrasound, they just wait until around week 16-20, where you find out the gender of the baby.

@fifth_emperor_of_the_sea that's how it was with my first no ultrasound until the gender reveal/anatomy scan. I'm pretty confident of my due date so maybe that's why they aren't doing it...or because the office has really gone downhill:( one more check in the negatives column for them. So many people are having them already so it was making me second guess that I'm not.
@fuscok88 if you do want one sooner, you could ask your ob/midwife and they may be able to schedule one for sooner. If they won’t, maybe they aren’t the best fit for you, as they aren’t really taking your emotional needs into account. Maybe you could look into dropping them, and seeing someone else. Either way, I hope everything works out for the best!

Hi mamas. I have my first appointment scheduled for Oct 1st and I’m not sure if I’ll get an ultrasound or not. I’m enjoying seeing all of yours in the meantime. 🤗
Congrats everyone! Thoughts with those in limbo or dealing with loss brain.
Had an ultrasound today- 6w+5 days- baby measured on track and heartbeat of 138 however tw- the gestational sac is measuring a week behind - she said it could mean nothing or it could be something. We went through IVF and lost our last two pregnancies (the most recent loss at 9 weeks) so all is so stressful. End TW
@fuscok88 my OB does one at 8 Weeks (dating ultrasound), 11-13 Weeks (NT scan, checks for proper neural tube development), 18-20 Weeks (anatomy scan). They don’t do any more than that unless medically but those three are guaranteed. I did have an extra late in pregnancy to check for IUGR. Push for one if you want it. Ultrasounds shouldn’t be done for fun but those three are pretty useful.
