Thank you ladies for your encouraging words! I tried to keep my expectations low and said I would be happy to just get one, but of course I secretly wanted several! I am extremely relieved though we get a chance to try a FET in the meantime until we move in November and have to get situated with a new clinic. So that is one relief that I won't be just sitting waiting months only to start over again... (I am still waiting a call back from a nurse about my embryo questions, ugh).
@zamora_spin I'm glad you are able to get started!!
@blackhottamales FX for Sunday!! How long is the wait for the CCS results?
Thanks so much, everyone, for the well-wishes! I was able to transfer two 4AA blasts this morning Transfer went smoothly and now I just need to wait. They have 4 more embryos they're monitoring today and tomorrow to see if any others make it to freeze. I think they're all still morulas at this point so they just want to see if any of them grow significantly enough for them to be viable.
But overall, I'm very happy with the results of everything! I'm supposed to abstain from caffeine and alcohol for the next couple weeks which sort of stinks but I'll do whatever I can to improve my chances.
@mkr_0128 Yay for 3 great embies! Are you transferring in October?
@zamora_spin I'll bet that feels good to finally get started. GL!
@blackhottamales I just looked up CCS and didn't know that existed. Fx for Sunday! Catching up in the thread, holy eggs and embies batman! Will you be testing all that fertilized?
@riathewolf Grow follies grow! I hope Saturday brings you a sigh of relief. at the lizard comment. Some of the shit we talk about makes peoples' heads spin too
@wishiwaspreggo I'm curious to know what the removal process was like too.

@mkr_0128 - Hey, having three make it to freeze is great!! I know the number isn't as high as you like and I'm sorry you're disappointed, but it just takes one I'm hopeful for you!
@riathewolf - I like your lizard analogy that's hilarious. I wasn't expecting all the swelling and feeling tender during stimming. I've used FSH a few times before and never felt that but of course, I used much lower doses. FWIW, I'm feeling much better now that ER is past me! Still a little tenderness and swelling but not nearly as bad as before.
@zamora_spin - I saw your question when lurking on the TTGP IF thread (about spouses coming to follicle scans and such). I never brought my wife with me because our clinic is far away and it takes a lot of strain for both of us to take off work. Unless I was sedated or the procedure was an important one she just stayed back for the scans. I sent her the info once I had it.
@funkykey - Omg lol... no!!! I didn't take it out myself it was wedged reeeeeeeeeeally far up my vaginal canal and capped by a diaphragm. There's no way I'd have been able to fish that thing out on my own. My RE had to shove his fingers up there and dig around for a bit before he got hold of it and pulled it out. Removing the device did NOT feel good. But there's less pressure on my cervix now so... I guess that's good. But anyway, yeah, it was neat to see the device afterwards. Of course the contents were so tiny you couldn't really see anything inside it but the purple IVF medium.
@wishiwaspreggo thank you ah that's exciting you transferred 2!! How long is the wait now before testing?
@suzycupcake thank you! Yes I will be doing the October/November FET cycle, I think the transfer will fall sometime the beginning of November though since the cycle doesn't start until Oct 23. I have to talk to a nurse about potential dates of everything yet!
@mkr_0128 - My blood HCG is 2 weeks from today. Of course I'm gonna test sooner though because I have no self-control I'm going to POAS now to see if the trigger is still there so I don't get false hope but I'll probably take my first "real" test on 5DPT (provided today's or subsequent tests are "clean").
@suzycupcake Yes, they will test any and all blastocysts that we get, I can't remember the statics they gave when we went through our training of the average number of chromosome normal embryos (which is probably good for me to not doing stats on these eggs right now).
@mkr_0128 i think it takes about 2-3 weeks to get the results since they ship the DNA to the lab in Denver. I'm hoping for an October FET but only because when we first talked with the RE she said it was traditionally 5 weeks from ER to FET. But my next step is to call CD1. I'm trying to go with the flow...(which is definitely not happening and i've definitely already tracked the estimated due date based on 5 weeks after ER) TW**Positive ER / FET story if you are interested in a success story at the moment:
My friend had and ER earlier this year she got 18 eggs and then ended up with 3 embryos. They did a fresh transfer that didn't take, but she's now over 20 weeks preggo with her FET and still has one more frozen embryo for next time
@wishiwaspreggo that's great you got to transfer two good embryos in there. Very exciting. Does your clinic do betas?
@zamora_spin I saw your question regarding spouses as well. MH didn't come with me to any monitoring appointments, I just didn't see the value of him coming with. Part of me would have liked it if he had come to every appointment mostly because i'm jealous of the women at the doctor with their spouses. I know he didn't want to be there and since I didn't get the detailed information until when the nurse called later it didn't seem to matter. Our clinic is actually on the way to his office so he could have been there if I had asked and one day we actually met there because he left something in my car--but still didn't come up with me. Luckily he was there for ER (his plane landed at 6:30 Sunday night and ER was at 7am the next morning).
I was doing some creeping during lunch on the May 2019 BMB --definitely saw a girl I went to highschool with on there. It just kinda reminds me that even though this is kinda anonymous, it might not be. (well especially if you use a real picture of yourself)
@wishiwaspreggo haha I don't blame you for testing earlier!! I wouldn't be able to help it either. I can't wait for you to find out!!!!
@blackhottamales aw thank you for the story! That, and all you ladies, gives me hope hopefully the 2-3 week wait doesn't seem too long and I hope your CD 1 doesn't take its sweet time showing up!

Saw u got some low amh going on just remember I had that issue from the beginning as many do and thank GD you can still have success! Did anyone else gain lots of weight while stimming? I thought it was just the bloat at first but it's been 4 days since ER and the weight doesn't seem to be dropping off. (Total gained was 8 lbs, this morning 6.8 but still i would have thought any losses would be faster) Even when i walk down stairs i can still feel my ovaries, so i know i can't be super active yet. I want to get back to the gym, but i was told to wait until CD1. I was on such a great track prior to this cycle that i'm excited to bring the habit back.
@wishiwaspreggo Congrats on your two perfectly graded blasts! Thanks for the input - yes, that seems more normal to me, to go by myself to most appts, I was just wondering because I saw a lot more partners than I expected for what I know are standard monitoring appts. @funkykey It's really hard with banking, because by definition you have to do enough ER's to have "extra" but you also don't know whether any transfer will be successful (well, that is how I feel, with my particular history). How are you holding up waiting for your report?
@blackhottamales - Yes to the weight gain it's not getting any better with me being on PIO. I am exhausted and want to eat everything all the time. I'm also still bloated from ER, I think. Overall feeling pretty crappy. Plus my RE told me to lay off the coffee and alcohol during the 2WW. I know some are more liberal about it but I'm heeding his instructions. Now I have a headache and I can't take any Advil (my go-to pain medication) and Tylenol may as well be a sugar pill for me. Blargh. All this without even having the comfort of a guarantee all this hell I've been putting myself through will result in a pregnancy. This whole process sucks.
@wishiwaspreggo oh no...i hope the headache leaves soon. Last AF i puked twice from cramp pain because I wasn't taking ibuprofen and Tylenol doesn't do sh*t. MH sounds like your RE, he's had me off alcohol and caffeine for the past month (I did talk him into a glass of wine two nights ago which i enjoyed thoroughly). I hope this TWW goes quickly for you and you get your BFP!
Welp, I have one embryo frozen! Yay!!! All hope is not lost of my fresh transfer doesn't take. Though I sincerely hope it does. Nonetheless, I feel better knowing there's another waiting for us in the end.
@wishiwaspreggo - Congrats on the two embies transferred! Can’t wait to hear your POAS results! And i totally feel you with the weight gain, bloat, and headache. I haven’t even gotten to ET yet (on day 10 of stims so hopefully soon) and I have all of the above.
@mkr_0128 - Congrats on your three! I totally understand your mixed emotions, but 3 is definitely something to celebrate!
@blackhottamales - Yes to the weight gain for me too! I feel like I have two giant bunches of grapes hanging from each ovary. I hate exercising so I was kind of happy to be told to take it easy for the time being, but with all this excess weight / bloat I’m starting to wish I could do something about it. Hopefully it will all be worth it!
@riatthewolf - Yay for your 15 mm follies! Getting so close! I’m also going back for my next monitoring appt Saturday. At my appt yesterday mine were ranging from 11 - 16 mm, so I’m getting close too and we might be triggering around the same time!
AFM - Found out that I have an 8mm uterine polyp, and may need to transfer to a frozen cycle depending on how things go. Anyone have any experience with a polyp? Is 8mm a size that would need to be surgically removed or could it go away on it's own? I just don’t understand why they didn’t notice it on my sonohysterogram, unless it suddenly appeared. Also, this might be TMI but my EWCM is out of control. Anyone know if this is normal or should I be concerned that I could ovulate early?
@blackhottamales my nurses told me that even though the ER is done, to still expect to feel full and bloated for another 2-2.5 weeks if that helps your question? (I tried to stay off the scale the last month or so, so I have no idea if or what I gained. I didn't want to be stressed about something extra!)
@wishiwaspreggo YAY!! That is such a relief but all fingers crossed you don't need it at this point!!!!!
@Bonniebonsall I believe your RE can give you birth control to get rid of it. My old one did last time I had one and it worked.
@blackhottamales I hope the symptoms go away soon so you can get back to what you enjoy doing.
@wishiwaspreggo Feel better soon friend. I know that one frozen isn't exactly your ideal, but you got two grade double A embies in there! Hoping and praying this will be it for you
Update: Af showed her face today, that late betch. I'm leaving for San Diego to film this afternoon, but have to push it an hour later because I need to go pick up stims to start tomorrow. I put the payment down yesterday and holy mf, s%t got serious after that.
Eta I will be taking follistim, menopur, and cetrotide. Not sure the details yet until I see my coordinator.

@Bonniebonsall thank you I can't give input on the EWCM, but I did have a polyp about a year and a half ago. I only found out about it because I was having dayyssss of spotting before every period, for about a year and a half. They never saw it on my saline sonogram or anything. But they did a hysteroscopy to go in and "clean out any buildup on my lining" and they found a polyp while they were in there. That being said, I'm not sure it was the cleaning of the lining or the polyp that was causing my troubles. Other than the possibility of moving to a FET they didn't tell you any course of action regarding your polyp?
@suzycupcake yay for AF! I know it's a pain no matter when she comes, but now you can get it over with!!
@suzycupcake sorry about AF I'm glad you can get started now though! Sounds like a decent cocktail that'll plump up your ovaries! Yes, a lot of this stuff can feel really overwhelming but you get through it. Just stay on top of your calendar and follow the doctor's instructions. It seems like there's a lot to do but you just take it one day at a time and you'll be alright.
Hey guys, got a call this morning. All mine are still growing, but none a ready to freeze yet, so I am to wait another night and we'll get the official answer tomorrow.
@blackhottamales - I'm too scared to weigh myself. I want to be in denial a little longer. LOL.
@Bonniebonsall - I had pretty crazy EWCM before my ER. I was worried about ovulation too, but it was fine.
I'm sorry about the polyp, though. I had one a little smaller than that, and they removed it surgically. That was the reason why my first cycle was a freeze all.
Hi all. @wishiwaspreggo, did any more make it to freeze? Feeling crappy is a good sign, right now, I think. @embryoman, sorry, I can't find the article. It popped up in my google newsfeed in the last two weeks but my phone doesnt keep a search history of those. It was a newspaper story of an older woman researcher who'd given birth to a healthy son at age 42 who early in the pregnancy had a chromosone 22 defect. She was studying how mosiacs auto correct and made the discovery that 6-cell embryos' cells aren't identical, but it didn't say how exactly. Looking at scientific journals, the only thing even remotely close is a paper out of Singapore published in Cell, "Long-lived binding of Sox2 to DNA predicts cell fate in the four cell mouse embryo" by Melanie D White et al. A-Star.edu.sg has a press release about that which states that there are observable differences in embryonic cells at every stage. They were using real-time imaging.
I appreciate your thoughts on slowly developing morulas, and PGD testing. I love learning about embryos.
@wishiwaspreggo I'm glad you ended up with one frozen as well! It's a bummer on the booze and caffeine. That seems strict on the caffeine but on the booze, were you not told to restrict booze while stimming as well? My clinic was very clear I am not supposed to drink at all while stimming. I think in part it's for the health of the eggs but also because I'm on dexamethasone during the cycle. They also told me to restrict alcohol leading up to the cycle - they recommend no more than the equivalent of two glasses of wine per week in the month prior to stims. I figured these were standard recs, but maybe not. @suzycupcake I'm glad AF finally came and you are able to get underway. We did my first injection last night (starting only with Gonal-F) and it was really not bad at all. @funkykey I really hope you get good news today.
to a few people, weight is a major issue of mine so o ate SUPER careful during the Stims and have lost four lbs xD. Best advice I have is watch the sugar intake. But that’s MY personal issue. I saw a dietitian right before starting this to help me out/have a personal trainer so to be fair I’ve had some help. Though my workouts have slowed down with all of this. The bloat and weird cramping is real!!
today’s US showed that we are REALLY close. They want to see me again tomorrow to see when we should trigger. I am super excited!!!
Also went to Comic Con yesterday so it’s been a good weekend
@callingthestork yes, 1 snowbaby in the bank! Kinda hoped I’d have more but I’m happy I had any at all.
@zamora_spin - I’ve avoided alcohol in general the past couple months. But that was just my preference. I don’t like how drinking makes me feel anymore. I hate feeling dry the next day. I’ll have a good glass of wine or a cocktail once in a while but rarely drink to excess. But yeah, avoiding it altogether during the 2WW. Figured I can crack open a bottle of my favorite blackberry wine (best drink for fall!) and enjoy a little pity party if I get a BFN. But ugh, I couldn’t imagine wanting alcohol during stims anyway!! The bloat, the aching, the general malaise would’ve been compounded by booze anyway lol
@funkykey Because you are a pro at the TWW, this will seem like a breeze, right? Congrats on your 4 embies!
@zamora_spin Congratulations on getting through your first injection!
Afm, started stims tonight. It will be two injections per day. I was freaking out all day yesterday and some of today while filming because seeing the basket full of meds was overwhelming. I wasn't sure if I was ready to start--thought about waiting until next cycle many times. I remembered ladies here talking about one step at a time and putting dosages aside for each day rather than looking at all of it at once. That really really helped me. The thing I was really scared of was all of the things I heard about menopur, that it would burn really badly, etc. I decided to ice the area, let the mixture sit for 20 minutes, took a big pinch, pinched hard, and injected slowly for about 30 seconds. It didn't burn one bit!
I asked my husband to come push the plunger for both the menopur and the follistim slowly because I push the needle in with my fingers on the close to the needle and it's hard to shimmy back up to the plunger with my other hand doing the pinching. He is such a peach! Thank God for amazing men!! And I doubly thank God for wine

I'm glad it wasn't as bad as you thought @suzycupcake your clinic and institutions might be totally different, but I was instructed to pinch a bit of skin, stick the needle in, release the pinch of skin, and then inject the medicine. That may help you out doing it solo if hubby is ever busy or not around! Again, don't listen to me if you were told differently, or like the way you do it
@suzycupcake yes!! I’m so glad that method has worked for you too. I heard so many bad things but if you just take your time it’s totally doable. And horray for your hubby. That is love and support right there. Here’s to growing follies and more smooth stim days.
AFM like @mkr_0128 AF came yesterday, 5 days after ER. I was surprised because it was such a short cycle but obviously it wasn’t my normal hormones. I won’t hear back until late today regarding any blastocysts.
Hoping for good news later today @blackhottamales!!! And if you feel like sharing later, I'm curious to know how long your AF lasts lol. Mine was only 3 days (plus one day of spotting prior to).
@mkr_0128 No they didn’t give me any options for removal yet! They didn’t really seem too concerned about it, and called it a “possible” 8mm polyp (not sure what else it could possibly be!). They only mentioned it once in passing and just said to keep in mind that I may have to transfer to frozen, but that hopefully I won’t. Not sure what the transfer will depend on, and I guess I won’t know until after my ER. My clinic is at a teaching hospital so I feel like I talk to someone different ever day, and they don’t all know the ins and outs of my chart. I’m going back in tomorrow and am definitely going to ask about it again and see what my options are!
@funkykey YAY! Congrats on your 4 embies! So happy for you and wishing you the best during your TWW!
Good to know that I’m not the only one with the crazy EWCM! And thank you for the info on your polyp removal. I’m trying to mentally prepare for a freeze all if that’s what’s going to get my closer to my BFP!
@riathewolf Woohoo! I’m getting ready to trigger too! Probably tomorrow or Tues at the latest! How did your appt go today?
@blackhottamales Fingers crossed so hard for you! Keep us posted!
@Bonniebonsall ohh okay, that's good you are at least aware of it! I know how you feel about the teaching hospital part. Mine is similar, and I saw someone different almost every time I was in there... and lots of clinical fellows. Some definitely seemed more knowledge than others, and some put me more at ease than others!!
Re: September 2018 IVF ER
@zamora_spin I'm glad you are able to get started!!

@riathewolf awesome! I hope you are close!
@funkykey I hope you get good day 5 results! What day do you find out?
Thanks so much, everyone, for the well-wishes! I was able to transfer two 4AA blasts this morning
Transfer went smoothly and now I just need to wait. They have 4 more embryos they're monitoring today and tomorrow to see if any others make it to freeze. I think they're all still morulas at this point so they just want to see if any of them grow significantly enough for them to be viable.

@zamora_spin I'll bet that feels good to finally get started. GL!

Even when i walk down stairs i can still feel my ovaries, so i know i can't be super active yet. I want to get back to the gym, but i was told to wait until CD1. I was on such a great track prior to this cycle that i'm excited to bring the habit back.
@funkykey It's really hard with banking, because by definition you have to do enough ER's to have "extra" but you also don't know whether any transfer will be successful (well, that is how I feel, with my particular history). How are you holding up waiting for your report?
@wishiwaspreggo YAY!! That is such a relief

@suzycupcake yay for AF! I know it's a pain no matter when she comes, but now you can get it over with!!
@Hopeful_mom - thank you!!
@suzycupcake - glad you are getting started!
Thinking of you @funkykey as well!
4 embryos have been biopsied and frozen.
They will send the samples out on Monday, and from there it will be about a TWW. FX!

@riathewolf exciting you are so close!
@suzycupcake glad the first day went well.
@funkykey YAY! I’m so excited for you!!
AFM
like @mkr_0128 AF came yesterday, 5 days after ER. I was surprised because it was such a short cycle but obviously it wasn’t my normal hormones. I won’t hear back until late today regarding any blastocysts.
@funkykey YAY! Congrats on your 4 embies! So happy for you and wishing you the best during your TWW!
Good to know that I’m not the only one with the crazy EWCM!
@riathewolf Woohoo! I’m getting ready to trigger too! Probably tomorrow or Tues at the latest! How did your appt go today?
@blackhottamales Fingers crossed so hard for you! Keep us posted!
