@maureenmce I’m so sorry about your work stress and car repairs. When it rains, it pours! Do you have to fix both or can you fix one and trade the other?
@katy0990 We're gonna trade in my ancient car and skip the repairs because my car has 125k plus miles on it and my husband's car only has 75k. Sucks though because my car is a Honda and I feel like it'll last forever and his is a Pontiac that I feel like is a lemon, but his repairs are slightly less expensive and I can't argue with the mileage difference. realistically, both cars are 12+ years old and we'll need to replace even the one we keep in a year or two, so his car just needs to hang on for a little while. Just annoying financially right before maternity leave! Wish it was happening a couple months after returning to work!
My bitch is that I forgot to account for the fact that I lose 1 PTO this year because you don't accrue them while on mat leave So now I can't book any more time off, even for appointments, unless I want to start eating into the week vacation that I booked prior to mat leave. That means going to work at 38 weeks, which doesn't sound fun at all
@Katzalia I'm so so sorry for the craziness today. I hope your fun weekend is enough of an escape for youtoo regain some sanity!
@maureenmce fingers crossed you get a decent amount if you trade in your car. If you're lucky, repairs will be cheaper than expected on YH's car and your new car is a great deal!
@maureenmce At least you get a new car out of it. I’m sorry the timing sucks though. It’s funny that you mention feeling like his Pontiac is a lemon. We used to have one and I felt the exact same way.
Alright I'm about to complain about something that in the grand scheme of things is silly. First let me say I am so beyond grateful that I am pregnant and I wouldn't change it for the world. But, that being said, I'm feeling so bored. It really hits me on Fridays. I am pregnant and have gestational diabetes so what fun thing could I possibly do on the weekend...Nothing...Blah. Ok I'm done now.
@mamajudec2018 I find that pregnancy in general can be lonely. Some of my friends don’t think to invite me to go out because they plan to drink and think it will be boring for me. (If they were smart they would so I can DD for them). Or a bunch of my friends run and I have been sidelined from that, too.
Just wanted you to know you are not alone! Out of curiosity, are you a FTM?
@mamajudec2018 I was also a FTM with GD. I don’t have it yet this time but as a FTM you feel like you will get a free pass to eat whatever you want and when that option is taken it’s a huge WTF moment!! GD can be a real downer on date night:(
Stop reading now if you don’t want unsolicited advice, lol.
So my DH is a pretty amazing guy, He had me make a list of all the things I wanted to do within reason before baby came. He then made the modifications necessary to make some of them happen and my third trimester was great. Some examples were a day trips just the two of us, foods I wanted that I couldn’t have (those modifications didn’t always work out), work around the house that I wanted done, we even snuck in an NFL game and a concert when I was large and in charge. Is there anyway you and your SO can make a few extra plans? After the baby is here there will be less time for the two of you. It’s hard to spend the money when you are saving for the future but investing a little in yourself can go along ways!! Best of Luck!!
@mamajudec2018 You are doing great. No need to explain that you are still grateful for your pregnancy. It can be tough! It’s not all prenatal massages and eating for 2. It can be lonely, at times.
@LLynde5 Yea it definitely sucks because the fun things people normally do during pregnancy like go out for ice cream or go to favorite restaurants aren't an option for me.
That's definitely good advice! Unfortunately, because it's been such a long haul to get here we've done the whole we won't be able to do this once baby gets here a lot already. But it's probably still good for me to think about again just to make sure I've checked off my list!
Thank you for the encouragement and well wishes! Can't wait to hold little baby! It'll make this all worth it!
I am just all about the bitchfest this week. This hospital bed seems to be getting exponentially more uncomfortable by the day. It was mostly fine before but the past several days have been miserable. I feel like my back and hips are going to explode from the inside. And the discomfort makes me contract more, so I'm just in a spiral of contractions and discomfort feeding off of each other.
@scaredunprepared They tell me every day I'm still on track to go home this coming week, despite the increase in contractions and some bleeding after my ultrasound last week. But they won't actually make a decision until after my ultrasound on Monday and I hit 28 weeks on Tuesday.
@hkom Monday is only 3 days away!!! Fingers crossed US goes perfectly, bleeding stops, and contractions lessen or go away. That's awesome you're almost at 28 weeks! Make sure when you go home you take it super easy
Eta: Was it a TV US that made you bleed? I hate those! I feel so icky and crampy afterward, and the spotting sucks and makes me worry!
@hkom hopefully everything will go great Monday and you'll get to go home! There's nothing like your own bed. Plus being out of the hospital will just feel great in general. And fingers crossed the contractions will taper off to give you some relief.
@scaredunprepared Yes it was a TV. I've been getting TVs weekly since 20 weeks. The doctors are pretty certain that's what it's from since things looked so different last time and they really poked around a lot to try to get every angle, plus my lady bits are apparently just sooooo freaking temperamental.
And I'm definitely going to be taking it easy at home - they've already told me I'll be on strict bed rest.
Stupid BF but oh well. We are cleaning out our back room. I was using it as a home studio / storage space. I posted a corner desk with chair for $50 in FB marketplace..20 minutes later I got a message asking if I would take $10 for it. I told her no I literally just posted it and I'm not lowering my price. WTH you're seriously asking me if I would take $10 for a REAL wood desk and chair. Nope.
So this is a BF at myself. I am a sugar addict. Don’t let me around an m&m’s. Last pregnancy I had GD and it’s was awful and stressful. So far I am not diabetic. I passed a theee hour test at 14 weeks. I will have to take another one at 28 weeks. This morning I had not one but two donuts from the best donut shop in America!! (Nothing compares to them...but I have not tried a cronut which could be the best ever). Then insist we go to the zoo so I could get a good walk in. I split a slice of pizza with DD plus a few nacho chips, more carbs!! However afterward I felt famished so we stop by chic fil a and I got a shake with my sandwich. I split the shake with DH but I seriously have no control. Now I feel awful because I know how bad the extra sugar is for this baby. One sugar snack okay, but the cardiologist at our fetal echo reminded me to keep watching my sugar. LO’s heart is perfect but too much sugar especially with risk of GD can effect his heart.
@hkom I am so sorry, that sounds miserable! Can they give you any extra pillows? Or can your husband bring a snoogle or some kind of pregnancy pillow? And I've got my fingers crossed everything goes perfectly so they still decide you can go home after your ultrasound Monday!
Dang, this thread really exploded since I was last in here.
@temmetime I just read about the no thanking & weirdo dirty laundry delivery (lacking prior notification)…honestly that’s the sort of crap that makes me drop contact. I don’t give my time and energy to people who can’t be bothered to show the bare minimum. Ugh.
@Katzalia I hope your week wound down and that you’re having a better weekend
@maureenmce Ugh, employers who don’t replace missing people are the worst! They’re just asking for disasters.
@ab_canada Sorry that you have to work at 38 weeks. No fun at all.
@hkom I feel you. While I am Soup Queen, I have never had the love for vegetable soup. Also, sorry about the contractions - those can’t be fun.
@LLynde5 That’s generous of you to offer DDing - I drew the line there, and made it clear that I will NOT DD just because I can’t get trashed.
My tiny BF right meow is that I dehydrated myself more than I thought this afternoon. Four pints of water and one pee later I feel better. Good thing we're just having leftovers for dinner because I am not in the mood to cook.

@hkom I’m sorry you’re uncomfortable and contracting and bleeding. Hoping the next US and the 28 week mark mean you can go home next week.
@LLynde5 I hear you on the overindulgence. I was eating really well for a while but too many sugary treats recently. I have to really work on that (I say, having just had Godiva chocolate cheesecake for a family birthday tonight). Anyway, I’m going to try to not beat myself up for past choices (can’t change them now), but start fresh with better choices/fewer indulgences from here on. Especially since I failed my 1 hr GD and need to do my 3 hr in the next week or two.
@hkom I definitely wouldn't be surprised if the TV US caused the bleeding, especially if they were really digging around in there! My lady bits are super extra sensitive, so I get it. I missed the memo about you getting TV US since 20 weeks, but I guess, duh, how else would they be measuring your cervix and keeping tabs on it. I'm slow.
@LLynde5 and @Katzalia I think this is more a FFC than Bitchfest, but I haven't really been keeping an eye on what I've been eating. I've pretty much been living on carbs and sugary treats lately. I know it's not great for baby, but anything else (even yogurt or broccoli!) seems to worsen my indigestion, reflux, and/or heartburn. I might fail my GS test in 2 weeks I will probably need to live on boiled chicken and carrots for the last 13 weeks. I am on the out of control wagon and need help!
@scaredunprepared (and anyone else!) One thing that’s helped me is following the Brewer Diet checklist. You can find nice PDF versions online, or I can share the one I use here if anyone is interested. I also struggle with treating myself multiple times per day/subsisting on carbs, but when I have a list of things I need to check off by the end of the day it helps me make slightly better decisions. I’ve also been trying to limit myself to one sweet treat per day. “Trying”

@PensiveCrayon I've never heard of the Brewer Diet checklist before. I will definitely check it out. I LOVE checklists, so I think this may actually motivate me to make better choices, too. Definitely interested!
Ladies, I need an opinion. DH has decided that he wants to grow a beard...... its been roughly a month and I HATE IT!!!!!!!! I'm not trying to be controlling about it, but I also feel slightly less attracted to him right now....
am I nuts, or can I go on bitching about it like I do everything else. LOL this pregnancy has made me extremely moody... maybe its because I am pregnant with DD this go-round. Picture of DH and me for attention.... and just look at that face... he doesn't need a beard!!!!!!!!!!

@maureenmce I have so many pillows already! Including a regular one from home and my wedge! I don't think there any room for my snoogle haha.
