I stole this from previous BMBs. Full of great info! We can update down the road if we want!

What do all of those abbreviations mean? How to add a signature How to GIF How-To Guides:
-How to quote: Hit the "quote" at the bottom of the post you want to quote. You will be taken to the reply box with the quote set up already.
-How to tag: Add an "@" in front of the username of the person you are talking to.
-How to change your username: log in to TheKnot, hover over My Knot, and click Account Settings. Be sure to log out and log back in after changing your username. If you are having issues doing it that way, you can email community@thebump.com and ask them to change your username. Give them a few suggestions just in case your top choice is taken. It may take up to 24 hours for the name to update.
-How to insert a spoiler box: click the drop down list arrow next to the paragraph symbol (sixth from the left, next to the emoji button) and choose spoiler. It will insert a grey box, and everything that you type in there will go into the spoiler.
For the sake of board organization, here are some simple guidelines for posting threads:
DO: -Introduce yourself in the "Introductions" thread
-Feel free to start one of the weekly posts listed below if you don't see it started yet
-Check to see if a thread has already been started on your topic or question so we can avoid too many threads of the same topic
-Post a thread that would apply to the entire community and doesn't fall into one of the categories for daily threads listed below (Ex: what to pack in your hospital bag, baby gear, etc)
-Comment, share advice and show support for your fellow bumpies; this is a two-way street, to get support, you must show it as well
DON'T:
-Ask the community if you are pregnant, it is against TOU
-Post pictures of your pregnancy test, this is also against TOU (there is a thread on the open 1st tri page for this)
-Post a thread that asks a question only applying to yourself unless you suspect you may be going through a MC
-Get bent out of shape if someone calls you out for not following these guidelines; if you expect to be part of a supportive board (which we are), you need to be able to take the time to learn the ins and outs of the board.
Here are some weekly/monthly ideas that may be good to start with. We can always add to best suit our boards needs, so please let me know if you have any other ideas! Per this BMB's decision, anyone can start any thread on the day.

*We can also look into getting a spreadsheet going down the road when everyone gets more comfortable.
Once we all get farther along, we will also have pinned threads for things like ultrasounds, sex announcements and birth announcements. I've copy/pasted this from previous boards, and it seems to be the way that they are all organized, but of course we should feel free to tweak for our needs! For example, some boards do weekly ticker changes while others do weekly due date check-ins (ex, DD 1st week of Nov.). If anyone has a suggestion for other threads, please feel free to comment a suggestion. PLEASE keep in mind that there will eventually be a lot of us on this board, and an organized board will be much easier for everyone to use. If we can all keep the one-off posts to a minimum the board won't be too cluttered to navigate, and hopefully we won't end up answering the same question 2,000 times.

Re: ***READ THIS FIRST*** Board Organization
Or a Meal Plan Monday where we could swap healthy recipes or share meal ideas for the week for those of us on the go. We could even start generating ideas for healthy freezer meals when baby-time gets closer.
What do you all think?

I want to talk about the weekly check-ins.
My last BMB did ticker change check-ins meaning that people whose tickers changed on the same day all checked in at the same time even if they were 4-5 weeks apart. I don't think this is a particularly useful system. I lurked on April and it looks like they are using the due date system for check-ins, which I think is a more meaningful grouping. This system does make the title of the thread more complicated, but I think once our groups get to know each other a bit, we can just come up with cute team names. So instead of "Week 1 (5/1-5/7) check-in w/o 9/3" the check-in title can eventually become something like "Blue Barracudas Check-In w/o 9/3" - if that makes sense! Sorry, I feel kind of strongly about this topic! The ticker change system just bugged me.

@zuuls_mom of course I'm happy to go along with whatever the majority decides (but I hope it's check-ins by due date! haha).
@poshspice I'm down for the weekly instead of ticker change idea. Makes more sense to me too. I didn't see a FTM and STM check-in thread in the list... those were fun in my last board, but we can see what people want to do!
@poshspice I think groupings like that would be a great way keep up with progress along the way!
I would love a first time mom and cloth diapering threads!

I also would want Week 1, 2 etc check-ins instead of a weekly ticker.
Do BMB still do a UO thread?
Also, totally in agreement about due date/ticker change check in.

@secicc12 I noticed the FTM and STM+ checkins were missing from the list as well. I think it would be great to add those. Thoughts, @zuuls_mom?

My Aug '17 Group also had a Weekly GTKY (Get to Know You) thread. There are usually ones in the individual week (or ticker change depending on the format) mini groups but this way the whole group also has one to participate in to get to know others outside of your EDD range. Although I don't think we had a Ten Things Tuesday so maybe that's enough. Don't want to create too much clutter.
I'd like to propose that the Weekly check-ins for all groups be posted every Monday. I think that would make sense. Maybe the STM+ and FTM check-ins can be posted another day of the week so it's not overwhelming? Wednesday or something?
I know they don't have their BFPs yet, but those due those last 3 days of May might make more sense to combine with the previous week instead of having them as their own, much smaller group. I haven't stalked other BMBs to see what they did but having such a small group for my ticker was disappointing and I imagine they'd feel the same way.
I was thinking, how about we do the week check ins on Monday, FTM and STM check ins on Tuesday, the cloth diapering could just be a single thread for questions/advice (unless you think we'd need a monthly thread?), and we could do GTKY on Saturday? Seems like that would spread the traffic out through the week. Just my thoughts
Also, if a thread seems to be dying out, we can always switch it to a monthly one as need.
I agree with the check in for weekly due dates (Monday is great because it might get us all going first thing after the weekend too) and then the FTM and STM be on a different day.
