Yeah not being allowed to leave your room would make that difficult. Those are some strict rules. I
I just learned that that my freedom here is double edged. I took my progesterone early this morning and then went to grab my breakfast in the lounge. I ended up eating together with a fellow patient and we continued chatting for 5 mins in the hallway until I suddenly got really faint. I think the combo of meds, having just eaten (ie food not digested yet) and standing around was no bueno. I feel fine now but am a bit shaken. I’m going to have to be more careful.
Uh so guys? I just got back from my ultrasound and apparently my functional cervix is 2cm long! It has been below 0.5cm for the past 3 weeks. I'm still waiting for the perinatologist who was there to talk to my regular OB, and I'm still kinda weirded out about the whole thing because literally no one expected that to happen, but yay?
They will still keep me here until next week, but hopefully if things are stabilizing they will be a lot less hesitant to send me home.
@hkom That's amazing! I didn't know it could get longer again! Hopefully they'll let you go home at the end of the week and you can actually be in your own bed, prep for baby, etc!
@hkom Boop! Just saw this update, I’m so impressed with your cervical lengthening powers Hope they discharge you ASAP so you can relax at home and snuggle your creatures

Like others mentioned, I got super nervous when I saw all the new comments on this thread, but @hkom - that's an amazing update!!! Honestly did not know an increase like that was possible.
@hkom that is FANTASTIC news!! I'm so impressed with your cervix, ha! I hope they send you home on at least modified bed rest so you can really enjoy a few weeks of pregnancy. You deserve it!
Follow-up was today and it was not a positive outcome. Cervix is down a full cm from our last scan and has softened, so cerclage will be done Friday and then I'll join the full on bed rest club for the next 15 weeks. I'll be monitored closely, at least every other week, but I'll be able to be home with my toddler which is good. The doctors are still stumped as to why it's happening since I have no risk factors or previous complications, but here we are so I guess we just have to move forward. I'm trying not to get caught up in all the complications outside of pregnancy like work, finances, my toddler, DH, etc. but it's very hard! Life will go on even though I'll only be participating from the couch and bed.
late to the party. Yay @hkom !! such great news!! @parentingishard at least you get to be home! Not and ideal situation and while it'll be hard with a toddler, I know I would miss mine like crazy if I was stuck in the hospital long term.
Aah sorry to hear @parentingishard. At least you'll be home, but man, I can't imagine what that will be like with a toddler. Fx the cerclage does its job and baby can get nice and big before coming out!

Ugh @parentingishard I am so sorry. I also have zero risk factors so I know how you feel. It's so frustrating. I hope your cerclage is as easy as possible and that it holds for a long time. I am glad you will be able to be at home, though.
@parentinishad Ugh. That sucks. I'm sorry to hear. At least you get to be at home though.. silver lining. Hopefully at least being at home on bed rest helps a little.

@parentingishard I’m sorry you’re about to be on full bed rest. Will you have some help with your toddler while all this is going on or are they in daycare during the day? I can’t imagine how hard it’s going to be but I’m sure you will make it work.
@parentingishard I am so sorry to hear that. Will you be able to get up to do things wih yout toddler (make a quick lunch, help to the bathroom, etc) or will you have to remain horizontal?
