Honestly, I would be happy just giving family the go-ahead to spread the word and let the news travel naturally but we are going to a family wedding in a few weeks and I may have a hard time hiding my bump by then. We want to avoid our pregnancy news being a major topic of conversation when the big news should be the wedding! So we are having a family birthday party for my husband this weekend and just making an announcement there.
@mayoduck That's a good plan. My last pregnancy we had a wedding when I was around 12 weeks and MH was making fun of me because I was like "does everyone know? Have you told everyone that will be there?" Turned out that the couple was pregnant and due 2 weeks before me. I was so glad I made sure he told everyone before we showed up. This time around, we might end up hijacking my grandma's 90th bday party, but that's not as big of a deal as a wedding. She's had 89 other birthdays to celebrate.

I haven’t decided if we’re going to do a social media announcement yet, but so far we haven’t really done anything cute to tell family. We are planning to put DS in a big brother shirt to see my dad this weekend and see how long it takes someone to notice!
I don’t do social media, and I’m not one to draw much attention, so we won’t be doing any “formal” announcement. My cousin is getting married in October though, so I will at least circulate an email to the family before then so that my baby bump doesn’t steal any thunder. I have the NT scan tomorrow, so I will probably start telling friends individually after that.
I wasn’t planning on doing social media but it’s really the best way to let DHs military buddies know so we might. I found twin onesies that say “I was planned” and “I was not”, but DH things it’s tacky.

We still haven't told family yet. I kinda expect news to travel on its own after that. However it's our first, so I was going to make signs for our dogs. One sign for each that fits their personality. My older dog will get a guard dog duty begins and the younger on will get a "I'm getting a little human" since she adores kids. I think we'll put them on FB and Christmas cards (around the same time) so everyone gets to see them.
@3rdtime_charmed I agree, I think that's cute! There are lots of cute twin announcements.
I need to get a more flattering picture of DD and I baking to go with it, but I took a picture (that I'd share if @BumpAdmin fixed the photo upload) of a "Recipe for a Sister" and a baking sheet covered in flour that I wrote March 2019 on.

I made this one the day we got our NIPT results and then immediately had a heart attack about sharing it so we decided to wait until after our next sono at 16wks
We're big into truck pulling so with DD I put a clip art checkered flag on a picture of the ultrasound and put "Team Announces Crew Chief Change: July 2016" We've been going camping a lot this summer to Jellystone and DD loves Yogi & Cindy. Thinking of doing a picture of DD with the ultrasound next to the campfire or maybe the Yogi mascot holding her with the picture and it saying "new camping buddy coming March 2019"
@3rdtime_charmed that is cute or If hubby isn’t on board, you could do ones that say “double” and “rainbow” (I believe they are your rainbows correct?)
@sparkylove yup they are both rainbows. When I explained to my husband what that means, I got a waaaay worse reaction. He’s not spiritual and said it was silly. Of course I’ve been crying over rainbow announcements for years, but sometimes men just don’t get it.

We told our parents and siblings first, got everybody but my brother and SIL who live in California together to share (called bro and SIL after). Have told our best friends just kind of as we saw them. Called our grandmothers after our appointment yesterday, and then FINALLY went live with the news on social media
I know this is super over played but I was thinking about doing the “adding a pumpkin to our patch, March 2019” with a picture of 3 pumpkins, one of them cut out with a little blue pumpkin on the inside

My NT scan is next thursday, and i plan on posting friday. i have a shirt i got made for my 9 year old that has a game controller on it and says "Leveled up to Big Brother, Player 2 entering March 2019"...its so adorable and my son is super excited to wear it.
We announced to some of our family bu showing them this. Ill probably put it on social media in a few weeks. My daughter’s face is really cute behind the emoji
@JScamelipardalis that is TOO CUTE!!! and @3rdtime_charmed I love your twins idea! I hope DH jumps on board with that soon. It's great
As for mine, I posted this on the other thread but we had a photoshoot inside our Target store! It was so much fun roaming the baby aisles and being silly. It was also really well received on social media (which is my thing). Can't wait to frame one of these for our "life events" gallery wall!
For local people, we just told them when we saw them. For close friends and family who aren't close by, we just called them and told them. I haven't decided when to put something on FB. Due to a weird travel and work schedule this summer, I am not having an appointment until I'm around 18-20 weeks along. I was originally going to wait until we have that first appointment and can hear the heartbeat to put it on FB, but lately, I've been thinking about posting something once I can feel movement. I've already felt a couple little twinges, but I'm not sure yet. It's probably nothing yet.
I don't know what I'll use for the announcement, but I don't think it will be anything fancy. I might just have D holding a big sister with the due date sign.
My husband and I were swimmers (that’s how we met). So I’d like to do something like a posted “heat sheet” that says something about ‘heat 2, lane 3: coming in March 2019’ since we have kind of a large age gap between our first three kids and our last three.
Soon as we get the sex results back around 9/20, we'll do one of dd's monthly chalkboard photos with her and me (though I'm not usually in them) with an arrow pointing to her saying "Big sister, 15 months" and an arrow pointing to my belly saying "Little (sister/brother) 15 weeks." I'll be sure to share here too
Such cute announcement ideas and photos in here! We've told all immediate family in person but I'd like to make a cute picture with some text to email/text to friends. Since Monday is Labour Day, I'm thinking there's got to be a cute way to tie that in to the announcement, right? Something along the lines of "Happy Labour Day! We'll be celebrating ours a little late.... Baby #2 coming March 2019." Or something like that. Is anyone else doing a Labour Day themed announcement? Any ideas?!
I’m so in love with everyone’s announcements! We announced last week at 13 1/2 weeks after our 3rd good ultrasound. We’re a religious bunch and we’ve had a scare this pregnancy, so this was quite appropriate for us. So excited for all you ladies as well!
I've been telling people as I see them, but also want to do a cute picture on social media. I'm thinking a pregnancy and gender reveal with my Halloween costume, something like this!
We got our daughter a book that says I’m a big sister now, and then asked if family members wanted to read her new book to her. We posted a picture of her and her book on Facebook. Since her nickname is Sam, we also made a picture to post that said “every Sam needs an equally heroic friend” with pictures of Samwise & Frodo, Samwell and Jon Snow, and our Sam and the ultrasound (we’re giant nerds)
