2nd baby - 38 weeks, 60% effaced, 3cm and soft/anterior cervix... anyone else?

Just looking to see how many other 2nd time moms are out there - and due this month.  My doctor today hinted that I could be coming to the hospital as early as this weekend, based on today's checkup, though I know it could still take another week or so.  Anyone out there care to share their 2nd baby experiences?

I'm getting excited because with my first, we weren't dilated at all at 40 weeks so they induced me. This time, things seem to be happening on their own!!!

I was dilated since 36 weeks with my last two pregnancies. I went 4 days past my due date the first time, and was induced the second. Dilation and effacement mean nothing as far as when labor will happen. Plenty of women walk around 5 cm dilated for weeks before going into labor.

Ugh. I had a post like this and had some negative/rude responses. It's just the excitement. We know that we can stay like this for awhile. Anywho, YAY! Exciting isn't it?! I as well just wanted to get other moms experiences. I'm in baby #3 but at my 37 week appt (yesterday) I'm 4cm and 70% effaced. Due 10/28 induction scheduled for 10/24 if he doesn't make it before then!

OP I had almost the same situation as you with both my pregnancies. Had to be induced with my first but dilated and effaced pretty early on with my second pregnancy. I ended up having my 2nd child on her due date. Things progressed very, VERY quickly with my second despite what my doctor thought and I almost had her in the car on the way to the hospital.

I'm 38 weeks, 3cm dilated and 60% effaced. Was in the hospital today in pre-labor. Was sent home because I didn't progress
