I had to run to the store. I had no make-up, hair was not done, and was wearing sweats. On the way there I just kept thinking, "I'm going to run into so many people I know because I look like this." (Does that happen to anyone else?) Guess what? I didn't run into a single person that I knew (or at least they didn't approach or acknowledge me). FTW!
@spacemountianeer that is a total win! I'm in the process of moving to a new town and have a decision to make whether to look good when I leave the house and have to keep up apperances or go in looking horrid so that when they see me done up it'll be a shock lol.
My randoms (i have way too many, it would clog the board) is I cannot believe how tired I am and how busy this month is already and it just started. My future in laws are going for dinner with my parents and where we are going for dinner is on a little island that you have to take this tiny ferry too (like the ferry holds 20 people max). I just have this dread feeling that my mom might try to pick a fight with me about something. Ah well lol.
I decided to pursue my one and only life long dream and write a book. Apparently, this dream was a surpise to all my friends and family . It shows how much I suck at opening up . And FYI, I am smarter and more literate than I probably come off on here, because I am terrible about checking what I wrote and have a horrible habit of jumbling NY thoughts together.
Also, I am super excited that in my new house, we will have a room we can shut the cats out of, so we can do puzzles again. Dh and I used to do them all the time until our cat ibdy discovered they were delicious.
@holly321 Go you!! What kind of book are you writing?
I really want to buy the new Avengers movie that was just released on digital this week, but I can't decide whether I want to get it on Amazon or iTunes...decisions, decisions

So my appetite's been out of control and my pants are getting progressively tighter and I was super depressed about it yesterday. Then I found out the type of birth control I'm on causes increased appetite and a reduced ability to feel full so it's a double-whammy. I was snarfing down a Big Mac last night like I hadn't eaten in days and I hated myself for it.
Fuck these hormones. I can't wait to start my IVF cycle if only so I can stop taking this damned pill. I have yet to find a BC pill that doesn't totally mess me up. I haven't taken one in years because last time I did I gained 20 pounds looks like that's my destiny this time around, too. Blah.
@holly321 that is really cool! Any ideas of what you'll write about? Also: yay for puzzles! DH and I were just talking about getting back into puzzles the other day. Not sure where we'd set ours up though!
@spacemountianeer I live in a tiny town where everyone knows everyone, we moved here 5 years ago and I just now finally am comfortable looking like a hot mess in public haha
@kels0091 fingers crossed that your mom is tolerable!
@wishiwaspreggo BC pills and me do not mix. Same goes for hormones of any type. I saw a huge difference in the way my body looked as soon as I got my IUD pulled - the water retention was crazy! I hope you can find something that works when you're ready.
No tags because I am basically drunk from 1(!) Gin and tonic...but I decided to write a fantasy novel I have always wanted to write, but every time I come up with an idea, I feel like I am accidentally half trying to steal an idea from a book I like, haha. I generally like historical fiction too, but I don't feel like I am focused enough to keep stuff factual with time periods, so I realized fantasy may be easier from a factual perspective, plus, I love an epic fantasy! I don't anything to really come of this, but I am always whining I don't have a hobby, so this will give me something to do.
@wishiwaspreggo, sorry the bcp are causing so much problems, I have the worst time with any hormones. @spacemountianeer, that is the best when you run into no one. We just bought a house and are currently renovating it, and I keep needing to leave the house to get stuff and fortunately haven't run into anyone when I look a mess.
@wishiwaspreggo I've made is super clear to DH that I am 100% done with BC and after baby, it's all on him.
I'm super proud of myself (and I know the other finance ladies here will get it). I got my month closed in record time. It's only the 3rd and I'm balanced to perfection!

@holly321 Good for you! Writing a novel is HARD. I've been writing ever since I could hold a pencil and creating the universe for a full-length novel is insanely difficult. I've been writing memoirs and fanfiction lately--so, genres with universes and characters that already exist--and I've lately developed a huge admiration to anyone who can write a novel. Good luck!
@jrm_14 Haha, my ex-boss left something very similar in the bathroom of the talent agency we worked at (also toilet humor):
@lulu1180 I giggled for on & off all day about it! For once, I was hoping MH would stink up the bathroom so I could say, “Go poop in the field with the other buffalo!”
@jrm_14, that sign is hysterical. And we are possibly moving on next weekend, but more likely the one after. The kitchen needed a ridiculously amount of work, but it is coming along. We finished paibipai the cabinets and placed the countertop today.
@suzycupcake, thanks, I may have to take you up on your offer! I currently have a main plot idea, and am trying to come up with some characters, I figured I will start actually writing once we are settled and I have a desk again.
Somewhere between the strip club and the sushi restaurant last night, there was a toilet sign that had me laughing and thinking about you ladies. Something about poop taking flight and flushing for the good of mankind. I was so upset that I left my phone at home. It's a good thing though because last night was crazy shenanigans.

I have another random. The bf and I just bought a house yesterday. I cannot believe how insane these last 2.5 weeks have been. never in my entire life have I ever been so busy and excited. thank god we don't take possession until october 1st so we have enough time to fix up our townhouse to sell
@kels0091 congratulations!!! We went through that earlier this year - it was 3 weeks and it was such an emotional whirlwind! Good luck selling your townhouse!
@kels0091 Congratulations!!!! Buying a new house is an awesome feeling I hate moving but I love settling in to a new home, especially when it's a big upgrade.
So I'm starting an Etsy business selling my cross-stitch pillows and yesterday my custom fabrics arrived and I'm soooooooooo excited! I have a super cute print that's a bunch of smiling uteri surrounded by syringes and hearts. It's so campy and will be great for my IVF themed designs. I am nervous to share on my Facebook account because I have a lot of friends/family that may think what I do is in poor taste but I'm probably gonna share anyway because I have enough friends who will appreciate and get a laugh from my work. I'll just have to add a disclaimer. I have a conservative aunt who loves cross-stitching and talks to me about it but I don't tell her about what I make... she's into the "God Bless This House" type of patterns and... well, I am not lol
Thanks, @lulu1180 I'm also making "Blessed be the fruit" produce bags for the eco-friendly feminists. They're embellished with obnoxiously cute buttons. That's gonna fly right over my aunt's head, no doubt.
@wishiwaspreggo I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I would love for you to share your Etsy shop once it's set up; if you're comfortable doing so, of course!

@wishiwaspreggo I love Etsy! @lulu1180 is right! I would definitely love to check it out. I really want to learn how to cross stitch, but until I do I will admire the skill of others
Awwwww thanks y'all I'll link my shop when I have enough stuff to warrant sharing! I've been working on it though, I just have to finish the stitched pieces into pillows. I have a few bags ready. I gave this one to my friend (I didn't have the corny buttons yet so I just made a silly fruit design). Action shot in the spoiler.
It was my 21st birthday yesterday and we had a party on Saturday to celebrate it. Amidst the belligerent drunkness and card games my very intoxicated boyfriend discussed marrying me with my best friend and I think that he thought I was sleeping but I was just laying on the couch.
Pretty excited because it sounds like he’s gearing for a proposal!!!

@haemgraffiti I'm not sure what your current status is but you still have a ticker saying you are 8 weeks pregnant in your signature. If you experienced a loss, I'm very sorry that you had to experience that, but would you mind removing the ticker from your signature? If you did not experience a loss and are currently pregnant I would ask that you please not post on this board as seeing someone who's KU posting here can be upsetting for those of us that are struggling. If you plan on hanging out here, don't forget to intro on the weekly thread here and read the pinned posts at the top as well as lurk to get a feel for how the board works! In addition, if you are currently benched, there is usually a weekly benched thread as well.
