Thanks ladies. I’m quite nervous about the US. They called earlier asking if I wanted to push my appt time to 4:15pm or another day due to an emergency surgery. I almost asked for another day but I really need to face it today and I’m glad the appt will be with the male RE who’s awesome and compassionate with great bedside manners.
we just got out of the doctors office and the baby measured the same as last week with no heartbeat. The doctor prescribed us meds to help facilitate the process to pass the baby without a d&c. We’re doing okay since we had a whole week to let it sink in. Thanks for all the support.
I’m so heartbroken for you @mrsyng. I know you had the week to prepare but it is still a difficult pill to swallow, esp since it seems like your doc gave you meds to pass on own. I wish I had answers for you. I’m sending you strength to prepare for natural Mc. I’ve never done it and have much respect for those who’ve been through it.
I dont know if or when youll resume ttc but I hope we cross paths on a future board under better circumstances.
I did well for the rest of the evening until bedtime when reality had the opportunity to sink in as I no longer had any distractions and I had a good cry for acceptance/self-pity. We may try again in aug or sept depending on when hcg levels will be back at zero, after a full regular cycle with AF, outcome fetal tissue testing or our genetic blood work and whatever else is required since this is our 2nd miscarriage.
@northbeach3 are you having any additional testings?
to all the ladies with US next week. I hope you all get good outcomes! Keeping FX for you all!
I want the additional blood testing for possible clotting disorders but dunno if insurance will cover with only two MCs. I hear most only get it after three. I am supposed to meet with the RE in mid July. Dunno what to expect from the tissue testing since last time results were inconclusive. I assume I’ll get more recs then, though I also assume my doc believes all the embryos have been abnormal.
@mrsyng I'm so sorry. I know you had time to prepare, but I can imagine it's still so hard to hear the definite result. I wish I could say something of comfort, I'm just so sorry. I hope the meds work quickly and smoothly for you. Take some time to yourself to recover. Best of luck in your next cycle xx

Sorry for going mia, I've had a few very challenging days. @mrsyng truly sorry that you have to go through this a second time. I hope you'll be able to (mostly) put this behind you and FX your next cycle will be the one to stick the whole 9months. IF sucks.
@mayflower513 yes, mine is tomorrow. I'll be 6w1d so I'm not expecting HB. I only want to see a sac and a yolk that are on track. I'll be happy with just that.
We have a sac, we have a yolk and we have a fetal pole that was twitching merrily on the screen. Next u/s in 2 weeks - hoping to see good progress and HB!
I was preparing myself for a disappointment so I'm very happy (and the RE was happy and that's always a good thing).
We’ve got a baby measuring on track (7w6d) with a heartbeat of 175. I do have a subchorionic hemorrhage (just when things looked good) so I have to go back next week to check it. Not feeling good yet but at least the baby is looking good.

@mayflower513 I had SCH...everything turned out totally fine (this was 8 yrs ago). I did have spotting/light bleeding all the way into my second trimester...so don't worry if that continues to happen, it will reabsorb in time.
@mayflower513 it was large, there was quite a lot of bleeding early on...then mostly spotting every day into my second trimester. When I graduated from my RE, I ended up going with a high risk dr (MFM) just to be safe. It finally reabsorbed, but it definitely took a long time...it will be ok!
I'm supposed to be 7+4 today, but they only measured 6+3 and there's no heartbeat. I thought they might call it, but the doc said I should keep taking meds and come back in a week. I'm not hopeful, I know at this stage there should be a heartbeat, I think the clinic is just being very conservative. I'm somewhere between numb and angry, this next week of limbo is just going to be hell. I wish I had a better story to tell today.

@roisis I'm so sorry, this is not the update we were all hoping for for you. I can only imagine how difficult and frustrating it is to stay in limbo for another week. It does sound like your clinic is being very conservative and I will keep my fingers crossed with them for another week! Even if the chances are slim! But I wish you had an answer today. Hang in there! We're all here for you
Ugh, what a month this has been. I’m sorry to read your update @roisis and that you’re still in limbo for another week. This process is an ugly MF!! I hope you and your DH are able to maintain strength and support each other.
@mrsyng how are you holding up? Do you have any followup visits? Thinking about you. Dunno if you saw that article about a pharmacist refusing to fill a woman’s Rx for misoprostol for her miscarriage. I was so angry, I rage tweeted. No woman should have to deal with that while simultaneously coping with the loss of her pregnancy.
@northbeach3 no, I didn’t see the article. I would be livid with the pharmacist. But I just read the article; how freaking ridiculous of AZ and it’s ridiculous law!! And of all pharmacists in the world it had the be a male douche who opt to use his ethical beliefs as an excuse!! Argh!!! He has no idea what women go through emotionally and physically when they’re hit with news of an unviable pregnancy!!! Idiot sir, news flash, it’s not by choice we got the short end of the stick with a unviable pregnancy!! I hope he gets reprimanded!! I feel so bad for the lady who had to deal with this mess.
AFM, I’m doing okay. Every now and then I have to check my mental state and ask my husband for reassurance that we’ll be okay and will one day have a child of our own. I took the misoprostol this past Sunday and seemed to have been able pass the pregnancy and dropped off what I think is tissue to the RE on Wednesday for testing. I also have a follow up US this Sunday with the RE to check that everything did clear out of my uterus and will hopefully be able to get all future necessary labs/exams authorized prior to starting another FET. @northbeach3 do you know when you’ll start another FET?
Thanks everyone, we're just trying to have a quiet week and keep to ourselves. My brother's little girl is being Christened tomorrow and we were supposed to go, but I just can't face it. I just hope my bro understands.
@mayflower513 I've been thinking of what happened to you - can I ask - how far along were you when they told you your pregnancy was not viable?

@rousis I was 6w4d, and they literally saw nothing, even a yolk sac. When I went for another scan a week later my RE (mine, not the one who did the original scan) fund a view where he couldn’t see anything again and pointed it out. Sometimes the babies just move to a position where things aren’t visible.

@mayflower Thanks. Unfortunately with mine, they could see everything, it's just that it was all too small and there was no heartbeat. My own RE just rang me to discuss (he wasn't there yesterday) and he laid it out that the prognosis was very bad and that success was very unlikely. He wanted to put us in mind for having a d&c if possible in order to get some results. DH is not particularly keen on this, but I think it's a better idea. But we have to get to next Thursday before making that decision - unless it happens naturally first.

@roisis is this your first Mc? (Sorry on mobile and can’t check your sig) I can’t speak to the natural Mc, but sounds like @mrsyng might provide more counsel. For me, the D&C was a more comforting option to me. I have so much anxiety, the lack of control for when or where or what the mental experience would be like with a natural Mc was too frightening for me. I was under the assumption that collecting tissue would be easier for testing purposes, but I will caution that “inconclusive” results are still possible bc they could test your cells inadvertently. I’m sorry it’s a poor prognosis. I’m sending you and DH strength.
And as I alluded above, you have my utmost respect @mrsyng. It sounds like you held your strength through the process. If you don’t mind me asking, was it painful? Could you tell “the process had started” or was it more like passing blood clots on your period. The unknown has been my biggest fear about opting for passing naturally.
I had a beta last wed and HCG is already down to 650 from about 8700 a few days before D&C. Since I wasn’t as far along as first time, guess return to 0 will be more quick. Will do another beta day after I’m back from vacation (7/12). Just knowing my REs typical monthly cycling, the earliest I could start meds would be end of July for late August transfer. But he may want to bench me another month. At this point, a new semester will be starting so there’s really no better or worse time since it’s all busy. Have you ladies considered when you’d be ready to transfer again?
@northbeach3, when I thought I was miscarrying, my doctor said I had to let my hcg get to zero, have a cycle and then could do the frozen transfer the next cycle. But that could change based on the doctor.
ETA that was super daunting to me because my hcg was 36,000 3 days before my scheduled procedure so it would have been even higher and had a lot to go down to get to zero.

@northbeach3 I had a complete m/c last year. Physically it felt mostly like a very bad period, the worst thing about it was having to spend the night in hospital on my own. I'm oddly calm at the moment, I'm not sure if I've just accepted this is happening already or if I'm in denial. I'm still taking all the meds and treating myself like I'm pregnant - so I suspect it's the latter. If nothing happens by Thursday and things are the same I'm pretty sure I'll be going for the D&C. But I understand that we may not get a definite result - that's what's putting DH off - he's of the opinion of 'Will we even change our plan?' depending on the result. We have two untested embryos left - the best I can hope is that they find chromosome abnormalities in this one - at least then I can hope that the others don't have such problems. If they find nothing wrong, it leaves me with the added fear that there is something wrong with me that I can't carry a child, and that is terrifying.
Likewise, my utmost respect to @mrsyng for getting through the misoprostol and managing to bring the tissue back to your RE. That's a tough thing to do. I hope you and your DH are holding up ok. Best of luck with your follow up appointment tomorrow xx

Hang in there! We're all here for you
@mrsyng how are you holding up? Do you have any followup visits? Thinking about you. Dunno if you saw that article about a pharmacist refusing to fill a woman’s Rx for misoprostol for her miscarriage. I was so angry, I rage tweeted. No woman should have to deal with that while simultaneously coping with the loss of her pregnancy.

@roisis I'm sorry you had to go through this. I'm hoping and praying that you'll get better results next week. Hang in there, you got this. (((Hugs)))
@mayflower513 I've been thinking of what happened to you - can I ask - how far along were you when they told you your pregnancy was not viable?

And as I alluded above, you have my utmost respect @mrsyng. It sounds like you held your strength through the process. If you don’t mind me asking, was it painful? Could you tell “the process had started” or was it more like passing blood clots on your period. The unknown has been my biggest fear about opting for passing naturally.
I had a beta last wed and HCG is already down to 650 from about 8700 a few days before D&C. Since I wasn’t as far along as first time, guess return to 0 will be more quick. Will do another beta day after I’m back from
vacation (7/12).

Likewise, my utmost respect to @mrsyng for getting through the misoprostol and managing to bring the tissue back to your RE. That's a tough thing to do. I hope you and your DH are holding up ok. Best of luck with your follow up appointment tomorrow xx
