So this is completely random, but last night when I couldn’t sleep because of insomnia I had a random thought. I keep seeing signs for babies that say something about “your the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside” and then I started thinking well, as much as you hear my heart you poor baby girl are hearing an awful lot of gas. I was very gassy last night as I couldn’t sleep so it was a fitting thought, but it definitely made me giggle. I guess when you have insomnia it’s not bad to at least have funny thoughts. So, carry that nugget of information with you the remainder of this pregnancy.
Eeek I just submitted my request for FMLA and to get the rest of the paper work needed. Next I'll be working on my paid family leave paperwork and disability. How did this come up so fast?!

I know! I probably have 9-11 weeks to go and I am freaking out! I have 6 or 7 weeks of work left. Eek!

My company is using a new absence manager so I can't even submit mine until 30 days prior to my expected leave start date. It's really frustrating since a lot of it was taken care of by now with DS1.

I havn't talked to anyone from HR yet because...the whole HR team quit!!! When I tell you my work is in chaos, this is the type of thing I mean. I work for a special devision of a big university and can go to Campus HR if needed, but we had our own HR team. So, I am just waiting to see if they get replaced...
I just got so wrapped up in figuring out how to submit a new FMLA/STD claim that I was 10 minutes late for a call. My brain is struggling so hard today.
Yeah! September is coming up quick! I have a meeting tomorrow with my supervisor and the person covering my maternity leave to go over a training plan. I'm also super swamped with projects but I did manage to give my supervisor a written maternity leave plan last week.
@DanyTargaryen I think I would be so worried with your 30 day timing that it wouldn’t me complete if you went a little early.
@Patience7150 whoops!! It’s easy tog we caught up in paperwork like that.
I called our leave department a couple months ago to make sure I understood what was available and they will automatically send my paperwork to me 70 days before my due date so I make sure I fill it out in time.
I can't seem to get my days straight..all day at work I kept thinking it was Thursday. I told my boss "I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday, I just want to relax this weekend." She looked at me like "You know it's only Wednesday?"
Obviously my mind is not in work mode this week. Counting down till maternity leave. I love my job, I get to work with plants all day. I get to plant them from seed or different cuttings and watch them grow so they are like my kids anyway but since my belly is getting bigger it makes it harder to do things while at work..my back and feet kill after a day like today. Any remedies for aching back and feet? I've done yoga, heating pad, warm baths..I feel like I'm running out of ideas.
@lpq0309 I work from home every Thursday but also worked from home yesterday, so I also have all my days confused. I am working from home again today due to a sick toddler then tomorrow as usual so it’s going to be difficult to go into the office on Friday!
@yosemite2018 I wish I could work from home. I unfortunately also have to go in on the weekends...plants never take a day off. Hope your little one feels better soon!!
Uhm, considering where we're all at,anyone else think it's probably time to start getting a birth announcement thread going? I personally like the style where you start your own thread with story and pictures (if you want) and just put a link in the main birth announcement thread. And all comments go on your personal thread, to keep the main one not cluttered, with just love tits.
Just my thoughts.

My last board had one announcement thread for people to post birth story/pic with no extra comments. A few people made their own thread if something crazy happened. I'm up for whatever but just thought I would share because it worked well for that board. Also I have no idea how to link to a post on mobile so directions would be helpful if we do that way
Personally I have no plans to share any personal information here (photos, name, time, etc.) as it is too public. If people want to hold off on a Facebook group I understand, but I think we should at least discuss making a private group on the bump then.
Add me to #teamnotpostingtoomanypersonaldetailsonapublicbumppage
I was figuring I could still share a story without sharing baby's name or pictures, but i realise eveeyone has different levels of comfort with these things.
ETA I like the sound of links in the main thread to the individual threads, but I also don't know how to mobile link. I would probably be fine to just do that part on desktop, though.
Also, considering where we all are @pourmeamocktail as in... America? We are mostly all in America, I think. That's what you meant, right? <img alt="" src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/mc/wjbmi3d8svqk.gif">
I posted my birth story in a fashion @EErin86 mentioned, and then deleted everything after a week so the regulars could see it, but it wasn't here forever.
I’d vote for a no comment but share whatever you want type announcement thread. I stalk other months and like the unclutteredness of that. Full story link to another thread but name, weight, time, picture, etc.. don’t take up much space. @Patience7150 I like that idea! I’m probably likely to share a few details and add in a date/time when I plan to delete. I’m probably one of the few that thinks most newborns in a blanket look similar so I likely will share one snap shot with no Identifying items.
Random of my life: DH and I went out for our anniversary date night last night and it was amazing!! For Dinner we went to a place that has really fast service so you try to delay ordering entrees after apps., but luckily our server had a toddler and perfectly understood date night meant take advantage of the babysitter. Loved her, she understood me! Even sent a free desert to our table.
Oh and my dog passed his eval at doggy daycare!!! I can’t express how excited I was. Our dog can be a pain in the butt and this will allow me to send him somewhere when we have a newborn or long work days.
@Lcardinal04 happy anniversary! Yay for a good dinner out and a server who understood the need for a longer dinner. That was sweet they brought you dessert too! Also, glad your dog passed the evaluation. Daycare will give it somewhere to go and get some energy out when you are so busy with a baby.
@Lcardinal04 Happy anniversary! Sounds like a nice evening.
I like the idea of one big birth announcement thread with no comments. I'll probably post the birth story, but no pics or name.

What if we did two threads? One for birth announcements with no comments, just love tits. And then one for labor stories if someone wants to share more? And I’m up for a private group here on the bump.
@klj0228 Your gas thinking had me laughing. They say baby recognizes noise outside the womb that they heard before. Maybe if babynwont calm down, just fart for her.
ETA: because LIVE tits are veerrrry different then LOVE tits. Keep your tits out of your birth announcement please.
I'm good with whatever other people want for birth stories/announcement threads. I probably won't share pics or DS2's name out in the open on he BMB, and I will probably never jump to an FB group, but I would certainly be interested in a more private group here if one is ever made.

Personally, I would just like 1 birth announcement thread. I think it would get too cluttered if everyone posted in an announcement thread AND linked to their own thread. Maybe we could do a birth story thread as well for those who have a whole story to share. Posters can put a note in the announcement thread "see birth story thread for details" or something along those lines.
I’m also good with a birth story/announcement thread without comments. I’d be fine sharing my birth story and baby’s first name (assuming baby has a name by then). Maybe even a pic since most newborns look pretty similar. And I’m also down with a private group. I’m not quite ready for Facebook
@BusinessWife With the "where we're all at" I didn't mean giving out our location, I was thinking with all of us moving into the third trimester around now and with twin mommas and other moms knowing they'll deliver early-well it just seems like it's probably getting to be that time.

I would love a private group on the bump so we can share experiences and support with our little ones. I don’t have Facebook so I would never move to a Facebook group.
I think one birth announcement thread with love tits is good and then if you want to post a longer discussion start your own thread. Based on activity of our regular contributors I think most people won’t post a separate thread unless something crazy happens.
I think the birth stories can also go in one big birth announcement thread. Put it in a spoiler box if it gets long, has triggers or TMI. Also appropriate warnings for triggers. I like the idea of a PG better than facebook. I keep my facebook pretty private.

I would really love to hear everyone's stories (if they want to share). So, the spoiler box or a separate thread called "Birth Stories" might be nice. I agree the the announcements thread should be very clean and love tits only. I would happily join a private group here. I am fine with FB, but honestly FB can be so annoying and filled with everything else in our lives. I love having a totally different place to go that is only about us! And, since we have so many very private people in this group - I see no issue with continuing on The Bump. I'm really excited that we can keep in touch (even as internet strangers!) after we have our babies!
It seems like a lot of mommas are down for a private group... I can create one and tell you how to get there but I suck at names. Any suggestions? I assume I can change it later. (In my last BMB we didn’t make it obvious with the month and year so that random people wouldn’t request to join... but anyone who was clearly a contributor in this group was allowed in provided they weren’t bsc)
I am so not in the mood to work. My H is off tomorrow to get stuff ready for DS's birthday on Saturday (and I'm not and jealous!) and I'm so checked out right now for whatever reason. I feel like I've hit my maximum capacity this week. And I have a long work day. Can it be 530 already?
+1 to a private group. I wouldn't want to move to FB because some of the people I care to stay in touch with the most likely won't go and I'm good with using the app or browser for access.
@stothi I love The Parlor! And it sounds fancy fancy @nlc8424 This has been me all week! I can feel a slow checking out the more and more I think about maternity leave, too...hope your day goes by quickly!

+1 on the brain not working as well. Usually in the mornings I can still get stuff done but by 2 I'm pretty worthless. Then I get panicky because we are getting closer to September and I actually have a lot to do and can't think straight enough to actually get back to work
I'm for whatever you ladies decide for birth announcements. I probably won't post a photo, but I wouldn't mind sharing my birth story here (or a private parlor - hehe). I shared a lot of other things so far, lol.
@lpq0309 I suggest getting some lotion for your back and feet to rub on at night that has menthol or something medically soothing. Every night now I've been using an Advocare lotion on my achy parts and I usually get around 30 minutes of glorious relief. Also, you can try a belly support band. I am about to bite the bullet and buy one.
Ok ladies... if you go to groups then look for one called The Parlor, hopefully you should be able to request to join. Once most of our regular members are in we can decide who the other admins will be.
If I’m doing it wrong, let me know. I will try to log into the desktop version later to see if there is something else I am supposed to be doing but with a sick toddler that could take a little while...
