Re: July 2018 FET

  • @kristimh80 I just got an email to come in for baseline tomorrow :/ . I’ll just get up and go. Probably taking the rest of the week off. I’m hoping there’s nothing wrong with the MRI, my transfer is about 5 weeks out and I’m determined that nothing gets in the way of it!

  • @ndz2018 I didn't need to do CD3 for baseline but I guess it could differ by clinic (like everything seems to!). I hope your appointment helps with your pain and now in hindsight it's good you have those two extra weeks. My mom would be saying "see! everything happens for a reason!" right now.  ;) Hang in there!

@ChristenMA83 I had seen that link too, love that site because they do a great job of explaining everything in terms that I can understand! I read it the other night at like 3am when I was up thinking about my ERA decision. And I totally agree with you about the PGS with your one embryo - I would do the same as you. It's so difficult and we have to weigh all the risks and benefits along the way.

@kristimh80 I feel like I'm stalking you asking if you have your results yet!  :D Like it's not even my TWW but it feels like it. I am hoping you find an answer to what happened and that you can make the needed adjustments for this next FET! Soooo hoping for you!

  • @leilee101 That is great news! Sounds like odds are in your favor. Glad your tsh was just a fluke.  Blood work is not fool proof!
@ChristenMA83 I hope AF comes for you soon and that your hysteroscopy goes smoothly.
@sidlily I was not on Lupron with my first cycle.  I only started the synthroid after the the cycle but before FET and it as been under control since then.  Once I am done with all this IF stuff I should be able to get off it at some point. I hope!
@Drove2u Going in tomorrow just for blood work.
@ndz2018 Oh man!  So glad you are ok.  My DH got totalled on the freeway a couple of months ago.  Super scary.  He was fine, but I was like no more stress please!  We have enough to deal with.

  • @ndz2018 So sorry about your car accident, but glad you are OK. Hope your MRI goes well today and glad you have those two extra weeks to recover. Keep us posted on how it goes today.
@ChristenMA83 That's a great article re:ERA. Thanks for sharing. The only thing I can't still figure out for myself is would people who've had a successful implantation with a 5d fresh transfer still benefit form an ERA when it comes to medicated FET.
@kristimh80 Feeling impatient about your results too. Hope you get them soon :)
  • @Momifbysea @sidilly LOL thanks ladies!! I keep trying not to dwell on it too much right now. Hopefully, by Friday I'll hear something. For once in my life I'm hoping my uterus has issues! We are tired of them telling us how everything looks perfect.

@ndz2018 I'm kinda jealous you're going in for a baseline lol I have a feeling, my luck, I'll come off BCP and they'll want to me to wait and get a slight bleed before. But who knows! Hopefully, it's like ER where I can go straight into it. We should be close in timing :)

  • @leilee101 that's great news from the doctor.  Our clinic has moved away from doing any fresh transfers entirely b/c he says the results are so much better with the FET.

AFM: They're scheduling my hysteroscopy for Tuesday 6/19 - so that's quicker than I thought!  Also found out today we still have a positive balance with my RE since they underestimated what insurance would pay when we did our up front payment -- so our next transfer will be $0 additional out of pocket.  Woohoo!!

  • @ChristenMA83 That’s awesome about the credit!  Your hysteroscopy is right around the corner!!

@kristimh80 I have A feeling that they’ll keep me on BCP for 2 weeks and then let me get my period AGAIN, then start the FET

@leilee101 I know my RE said my first chance of getting pregnant was about 60%, my second goes up to 85% and a Third is up in the 90 percentile! So your chances are better this time around.

  • @kristimh80 :D  :D Exactly!!!
  • @ndz2018 @kristimh80 that's what my stupid clinic does .. they give you a date to stop BCP and then have you come in 2 days later for baseline.
@ChristenMA83 that's literally next week! wahoo!

Question: Has anyone taken estrace vaginally?? That's the plan for me, sounds friggin gross, but RE said it's much more effective on thickening the lining
  • MomifbyseaMomifbysea member
    edited June 2018
@leilee101 edited to delete what I had just typed about Estrace. I was thinking about progesterone as an injection versus vaginally and they had said the injection was more effective, so no idea about Estrace. I know they said the pill for Estrace was more effective than the patch which my clinic had previously used, and cheaper so maybe cost is part of why my clinic does the pills?

  • @leilee101 I was thinking about asking my RE is that was better. The pills are so tiny, so I'd be afraid they'd fall out or I'd find them in my underwear lol But I see a lot of girls do that, probably gets into your bloodstream faster and more potent.

I've often wondered about doing estrogen shots because I see most only have to do them like twice a week versus 3 pills a day, etc. Also, was going to ask if I should do both forms of progesterone. Probably overkill and I'd hate myself after the suppositories started lol

  • Wait a minute, so @kristimh80 you're saying to actually put the estrace little pill up there? Interesting, I thought you all were talking about like some cream suppository or something, not the pills that we usually take orally. I've never heard of that but then I'm new to the FET thing!

  • @Momifbysea I assume that's what it is? I never was prescribed it, but didn't know it came in a gel / cream. Just pill / shots...but there's a chance I'm wrong :)

@kristimh80 yes my RE said it is much more effective, when you take it orally it has to through stomach and all that and vaginally it gets right where it needs to be quickly and more concentrated. He said I would get some blue discharge but nothing too bothersome (easy for you to say dude, you don't even have a vagina!)

ETA: @Momifbysea yes that's exactly how the works.. the oral pill goes right up the wahooie lol
  • leilee101 said: goes right up the wahooie lol  :D:D:D

  • I think I'll stick with the oral route. Speaking of which...crap I'm an hour late taking it!
  • @Momifbysea Same here! I've never had lining issues and seems like my body is an estrogen haven as it is lol I do like the idea of shots only because we don't have to mess with it so much!

  • Hey @madasm0530 I hope your appointment with the RE tomorrow goes well and can get a plan of action for your FET. I understand about timing and waits and scheduling issues, as I've had a few random ones during my almost 2 years seeing our RE. My fave was when they both went to the national conference for REs and the entire clinic was closed for two weeks which put me back two cycles due to a backlog of patients. Fun!

  •

ChristenMA83 has AF shown? I wonder why some clinics put people under and others don’t even mention it. Interesting. Awesome about the hyst date too! And even better about the balance!

leilee101 OMG that is hilarious about stimulating the nipples. Laughing so hard. But glad things are back to normal. How would you feel about having twins if you did transfer two? We actually decided to transfer two the first time around because after being through 6 iuis, a CP and an ectopic I was like let’s just do this. The DAY OF transfer the embryologist came to speak to us and was like this is your first transfer with some nice looking embryos how about we just put in one? She said if it doesn’t work then we can do two the next time. ****TW*** well the one did work and I’m so grateful we didn’t put in two. But that’s just me. Lol END TW***

ndz2018 so sorry to read about the car accident but glad you are ok! generally speaking. Seriously, this is like the last thing you need right now. How did MRI go? How did CD 3 appt go? Awesome about getting a transfer date! Whoo hoo!

Momifbysea ah! Gotcha on the mock transfer. My clinic requires me to come in on CD 2. I was a bit surprised by that.

    suziev3 how did BW go?

kristimh80  Ive done estrace vaginally. Never fell out! Just make sure you get it up all in there. Lol

madasm0530 whoo hoo on getting down to ) and starting a new cycle! FX for no issues!

OMG you guys! I’ve been having THE WORST PMS this week. Like bat Sh*T crazy on my husband. What is wrong with me? My mood gets so crazy during this time and otherwise I’m pretty laid back. But I’m so emotional and angry. Ugh. Can’t wait for AF to get here.

Yesterday was our 9 year wedding anniv and got stuck going to dinner with my MIL and aunt to celebrate their bdays. Anyway, I wasn’t drinking any wine and my MIL signaled asking if I’m pregnant. Ummmm no, but geez can’t a girl say no to wine without raising suspicions? I love wine and drinking with friends but the sleepiness and headache after is not worth it for me just going out with my MIL, you know what I mean? LOL

  • @Drove2u I just want one healthy baby. DH keeps saying twins would be great, one and done! But everyone I know that has had a twin pregnancy has ended up super premie and even some worst case scenario outcomes. That's why I was like ok ok, one embie at a time you convinced me.

@madasm0530 omg finally <3 Hoping you get a solid timeline at tomorrow's appointment and it's a nice quick one!
  • @Drove2u Happy Anniversary!! Sorry your PMS has been so bad! Mine was bad, but more in the sense of heavy AF flow that wasn't any fun.  My DH's family always ask me that when I don't feel like drinking! It's so annoying esp since they know we are going thru stuff. SO annoying!!

  • @kristimh80 they give me Progesterone shots and suppositories...the suppositories are the worst thing ever!

@madasm0530 yay for a 0!!  Hope your plan for FET is a speedy one.

@leilee101 you're cracking me up!  My favorite line from the RE is "On par with a heavy period"....um, you know nothing Mister!

    @drove2u Happy Anniversary!
I'm Spotting today, so I think tomorrow will be my official CD1.  I've been pretty crabby with DH since like last Friday...don't know if it's PMS or I'm just mental b/c I kept thinking Monday would be CD1....either way I know we're close now.
Honestly I would rather not be put under for this procedure, it might be uncomfortable but the extra charge is making up for the positive balance with my RE.

Ahh! I need to get on here more!  So many updates!

interesting about the differences in hysteroscopy. I got nervous when my RE stated that I would be put under for it.

I have no experience with vaginal estrogen. My RE prescribed injections. I actually didn’t mind it. It was only twice a week and the dose was tiny compared to my PIO shots.

@ndz2018 glad you are okay!  That sounds terrifying.

    @madasm0530 Yay for zero!

    @Drove2u  happy anniversary!

AFM,  still waiting for AF. I’m now on CD38! I’ve never had this long of a cycle. I’m usually a solid 28 days.

@leilee101 @Momifbysea @kristimh80 I have taken estrace in the Wahoo many times, since I have lining issues.  The first time they told me to do that I was like... wait, are you sure?  You need to wear a panty liner but its not nearly as gross as the endometrin, if any of you are doing that. What I didn't know about the endometrin is if you get pregnant you need to continue to use it for weeks after that too. Surprise! Bathing suit season is def not the best time of year to do an FET.
    @madasm0530 Good luck tomorrow.

Looks like i wont be leading off the pack of FET transfers after all.  :(  It's really always something.  I have a cyst and it's putting off too much estrogen so they are canceling this cycle.  I am super bummed right now.  Not sure how long I will have to wait.  It's officially been 2 years of ttc and sometimes it feels like it will never happen.
  • @suziev3 Oh no...I'm so sorry!! Luckily, usually cysts do go away on their own, so hopefully you'll be clear to go the next cycle with no issues. You def don't want to go into things with any doubts of lingering issues. For progesterone, I always do PIO. Think I only did suppositories during my IUIs...one is messy and other gives a sore booty...can't win either way!

@J1006 Ugh, sorry AF is taking her sweet time. Seems like every time we plan on her, so has other plans or shows when we have plans.

@ndz2018 how did the MRI go?

AFM: Cycle Day 1 is officially here!! Hopefully 4 weeks from now I'll be getting my FET schedule assuming the hysteroscopy and blood work don't show anything we need to deal with.
Our company is spending the morning doing volunteer work, so it's going to be a good Friday!  We also have my teenage nephew for the weekend which will occupy most of my husband's time giving me some me time, which I'm looking forward to.

AFM Got the call today from the doctor with my ERA results, everything looks perfect and won't need any change. So frustrating because we have no clue why my pgs normal embryo didn't work last time. The one time I really wanted to know I had some issue, but instead out another $800 to be told I'm normal.  :# Hopefully, having that scratch from biopsy helps a little. Idk I'm at a loss with no answers...

Now we stop BCP and wait for AF to show.

@madasm0530 Woohoo for negative HCG. Hope you and your RE come up with a good plan on Monday and FX for no delays!
@Drove2u Happy anniversary and sorry about your PMS :(. I love wine too but kinda trying to stay away from it since last August when I embarked on the IVF journey. It gives me bad headaches but I discovered that when I water it down with some ice I have no issues whatsoever. DH thinks it's a blasphemy to drink wine with ice but who cares.
@ChristenMA83 So glad that you were able to schedule the hysteroscopy so quickly and YAY for CD1.
@suziev3 Sorry about the estrogen producing cyst. Same thing happened to me with my FET in November and they put me on additional 10 days of BCP. My cyst eventually resolved and we proceeded with the FET but my RE had mentioned that if not, she could trigger ovulation and go on from there.
@kristimh80 Glad your ERA result is finally out and you can stop BCP :). You've been so patient through all of this. FX so hard that this FET works for you <3 . I guess sometimes it's just a matter of luck.

  • @ChristenMA83 horray for CD1! enjoy your weekend!

@kristimh80 glad you got the ERA results but kind of sucky there there wasn't anything blatant to 'blame' the last cycle on. at least going forward you know you did everything you could!

afm, we just finished our WTF appt and there's nothing earth shattering to report. we have 7 frozen embryos and 2 started hatching prior to freeze, so I'm assuming we'll use one of those for our FET. and, we got the PIO training. I am terrified of it because of what i've read on here, but just need to buck up and we'll be fine. orders are made today for all the meds and FET will likely be 6 weeks from today. here we go!

  • @madasm0530 Exciting!!! Don't worry about PIO, I've never had real issues with it. Have your nurse draw little circles in the area of injections. I always use a heating pad to heat the injection site and also to warm the oil so it thins it and goes in faster. Every blue moon you may bleed a little, but it's normal. :) Do you have to wait on AF or doing BCP prior?

  • @kristimh80 ugh, glad/not glad on the normal results from the ERA - it's nice to be normal I guess but I totally get wanting answers.  Hopefully AF shows quickly and you can move on with a successful FET.    My Hysteroscopy is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

@madasm0530 on the PIO, if you do it in the right spot its not that bad.  I think next time we'll have the nurse give me some guideline circles because we ventured too far south and started having issues with numbing.

  • Yay! glad you finally got your results @kristimh80. I know it didn’t reveal anything new but I know that if you went through another failed FET without crossing off that possibility you would have been second guessing your decision. Now it’s full steam ahead for FET!! Rooting that this will be your THB.

  • @suziev3 that sucks so much!! I’m so sorry, it really always something isn’t it. How do they know you have a cyst?
@kristimh80 you know how badly IF f***s with your head when you’re upset hat everything is normal. At least you have peace of mind, which honestly means so much in this game. Are your doctors going to do assisted hatching?
@ChristenMA83 woohoo for CD1!! Good luck Tuesday.. don’t even know what a hysteoscopy is tho lol
@madasm0530 PIO shots are not a big deal at all. I literally thought I was doing them wrong because I had no issues at all and had read so much bad stuff!

    Happy weekend rveryone :)
