Just wanted to update everyone. Had my MFM appointment and they suggested genetic testing. Expressed concerns about $2000 deductible and the gave me a local contact for Panorama. They have a contract with my insurance company and the most I’ll be charged us $200. So, be sure you do your research. I initially got incorrect info from my insurance company! Praying for good results.
Results are in and low risk for everything. I am old AF and am sooo relieved. Held off on clicking the sex reveal button! It is so hard but we are going to have our 1 year old tell us with a smash cake in a few weeks!

Question: we decided to do NIPT (Counsyl). I am a late Dec due date, 10+2 today. Is there any real difference in accuracy of testing that we should wait until 12 weeks?
EEK, I didn't even think of that! I think I was closer to 12 weeks with DD, but this time I was 10+4 (or 3??). My memory is shot. This isn't helpful; just commiserating.
@Katzalia the NIPT companies claim it can be done as early as 9 weeks. I think most doctors have you wait until 10 weeks to avoid inconclusive results. I had it done at 10 weeks and had no issues.

@Katzalia My OB schedules all generic blood tests at 10 weeks, so I'm assuming it's fine and there's no reason to delay? But that's just my anecdotal experience with my OB!
@maureenmce@coco2787@hoosiermama-2@lexidawg thanks for chiming in. I know it says accurate from 10 weeks but somehow all of a sudden realized today I could go for it anytime. My OB’s office wasn’t super detailed about when to do it, and I didn’t really ask at my 8 wk visit. Not worth a Saturday night call.
I’ll probably call on Monday and arrange to do it sometime next week (unless the OB’s office suggests otherwise).
Question- for those of you who did the Panorama, how long did it take to get the results? I know it says it takes 2 weeks but I’m an impatient FTM over here, so hoping it could be sooner lol
@clawbaby1202 I did the Panorama. Blood draw was Wednesday at 10am, Monday was Memorial Day, they called around 11am Tuesday with the results (~3 business days). It was pretty fast despite the holiday and weekend. Hope your results come quickly as well!
@clawbaby1202 I had the Counsyl testing but same time frame. Blood was drawn on a Wednesday and had results the following Tuesday (6 days in between). I was quoted 2 week turn around.
My Panorama draw was a Fri, they said I should have it the next Fri but it wasn't in. It was there the next Tue after Memorial Day. So 11 days or 7 business days.
NIPT results came back all clear! My husband has the results in Germany and I'm dying to know the sex ... but we are waiting until we are physically together to read it (in 8 days). I honestly don't know if I'd be able to not look if I were him.
I did Sneak Peek yesterday and I had to use all 3 lancets. My blood would not flow and I only got 1 drop of blood. So now my sample is ruined. I'm not sure if I want to contact them to see if they can send me another collection tube or what. I don't want to go through this all over to have the same result. I'm thinking about going to the local 4d ultrasound office because they now offer Sneak Peek but with an actual blood draw. Or just wait until the anatomy scan but that's soo far away.... Anyone else have problems collecting their sample or just me?
I had my blood work for the Counsyl test drawn yesterday. I am AMA so I'm also waiting to see how much it will end up costing me since I have a high deductible plan. We won't be finding out the sex but the lab told me that it could take up to two weeks for results. I'm hoping it won't be that long!

Just did the Counsyl a few weeks ago. Cost for me was 750 or 250/299 (if you didn’t go through insurance). I am AMA too. It took 1 week to get results! Good luck!!
I had my NT scan Monday. U/S tech went on and on about how beautiful the baby looked, heart rate was 170, subchorionic hemorrhage had dissolved. I was feeling really positive until the doctor came in and told me the NT measurement was 3.00 mm and it’s supposed to be under 3. I still didn’t think too much of it because it didn’t seem too high to me. But the doctor kept talking- increased risk of Down syndrome, cardiac problems, chromosomal disorders, etc. He referred me to a high risk doctor and told me they’d be offering me an amniocentesis. I was floored and couldn’t believe it. He told me they’d call in a couple days with the second half of the screening results. They called today. Baby is low risk for Down syndrome and chromosome disorders. I am so thankful but a little ticked at the way the doctor handled/explained the situation!
@mbelow6103 I’m glad everything turned out to be okay, but it sounds like the doctor really created unnecessary panic. What was the point of making the referral and talking about amnio, before they even had the rest if the screening results?
@Katzalia I wish I knew! I’ve had issues with this doctor in the past. If I didn’t love the others in the practice I’d switch practices because of him!
@gorgeousariel I am a phlebotomist, and opted to pay the extra to have the clinical lab blood draw done with Sneak Peek. The accuracy is above 99% with no issues with error from the tube. If I were you, I would do that. They may be able to refund you to let you do the test in the ultrasound studio. I hope this helps
Did anyone using Natera follow progress on their website? I had mine sent a week from yesterday and I have ants in my pants! Does it actually say when results are ready?
Got my NIPT results back today. Baby is low risk for chromosomal abnormalities. We will be finding out the sex tonight with my family.
I cried with this news.
*TW* Our miscarriage tested positive for Trisomy 22. With all the other issues with infertility that I have, it is what made up my mind about using donor eggs. We did it an anonymous donor. Had we gotten pregnant with my own eggs again, we would have likely had the same results. I have never been more grateful for science and donors and love this kind, stranger woman more than I ever thought I could love someone I will never meet. *End TW*.
DH and I are still weighing if we want to do the testing. They’d do the blood draw at my appointment next week. They do the MaterniT21 Plus. Insurance doesn’t cover it since I’m not AMA and don’t have any other risk factors, but they do have a program where if you do a 15-20 minute survey after the test, it’s $299. Much better than the $1,100 it would be otherwise. Ever since the spotting episodes, I’ve had pretty bad anxiety surrounding the pregnancy, so I just need some reassurance.
I did panaroma yesterday I don’t want to find out the sex we are having a reveal party. Does anyone know if you can see the results only without the sex?
@babyluv1234 your clinic should call you with the results. When they do they’ll ask you if you want to know the sex. My clinic doesn’t ever put the NIPT results in the patient portal because they don’t get the results electronically and therefore have no way of putting it online.

Received Harmony results yesterday. Chose not to find out gender. All indicators are normal! What a relief. I am 39, so was concerned. Feel like I can relax just a little now.
