  • @shygirl88 I got the amnio results on the 8th day. But since a day after the amnio was the 4th of July maybe it took longer.

Hope you'll get the results soon. And yes, no blood test is 100% accurate.  It’s only with CVS and Amnio that you really know if there is a chromosomal issue.

  • @rcultrona 3.7%
I actually thought it was less but just looked it up again.  It's not too low which makes me worried.
Just want the amnio results already.
  • @shygirl88 hang in there! You would think they wouldn't report on an iffy blood draw but at the same time I have also heard that 4% is the magic number for a reliable sample...fingers crossed for the amnio results!
  • @shygirl88 WHAT? I didn't realize the NIPT could be wrong on gender. Uh oh...well, I hope all those clothes I bought don't go to waste lol

@binxybaby I believe most NIPTs are about 99.5% accurate predicting a baby's sex.  So there is a small margin for error.

  • @babyluv1234 yay! Congrats on the good news!

  • @shygirl88 I’m sorry you have not gotten a definitive answer. Prayers for you and your LO.
  • @shygirl88 I’m glad the amnio came back normal but sorry to hear you still don’t have all the answers.
I hope they got it wrong in the ultrasound!!! Hope you can have the follow up ultrasound soon!!!

  • @shygirl88 I'm sure this has all been very confusing, irritating, and scary! Hoping the US tech just got it wrong and everything is fine.

  • @shygirl88 Interesting! Nobody knows how your LO will identify - maybe this combination will be perfect for them. A close family member is transgender (identifies as male, biologically female) and I know that he would love to not have a period!
Regardless, sorry that sex identification is not strictly binary and that you’re learning this first hand. We’re the rest of LO’s organs in good shape?

  • @shygirl88 It sounds like you are taking all of this in stride. You are the perfect parents for your baby. *hugs*
  • @shygirl88 while i'm sure this is a lot of news to process, it seems like you are really putting it into perspective. I agree with @echo-charlietango and this little babe will be perfect just as they are. And I'm sure all 3 of you will learn and grow together as they are able to communicate their needs and feelings to you. Hopefully this is your only surprise and everything else goes just fine with this little love!
  • @shygirl88 I’m sorry to hear you confirmed that this is not a boy.
I know how difficult it must be to get this news. But it and seems like these girls/women are normal looking female that identify as female.

  • @shygirl88 that is a lot of information to have about your baby. I can understand it is a lot to process. We are hear to listen if you need to think out loud about how you feel. I agree with others that your baby is a perfect little baby, and you are going to be a great mom. You’ve already been so good at taking care of all your baby’s needs.
  • @shygirl88 I’m so sorry that I’m sure this is confusing and obviously surprising news. It sounds like you are the perfect mom for her in that you are open minded and willing to figure this all out. Maybe it is good that you know all of this information...something that years ago would not have been available to you. If your daughter happens to not identify as female perhaps you’ll be more “ready” for that than most. Anyway I hope everything turns out for the best for your family!

  • @shygirl88 glad to hear all seems well with baby otherwise. You are wonderful and will figure this all out in time!
  • @shygirl88 I’m so sorry you are going through this but glad all seems otherwise good with baby. You are doing an amazing job. So many hugs ❤️❤️
  • Hi!

I have my NIPT blood drawn today. I am 10 weeks and 4 days. I know it can tell you the sex of the baby, but I was wondering how accurate that is?

Hello! From what I understand the NIPT is pretty accurate (I want to say about 99%).
You’re perfectly welcome here, but we are all due in December 2018. You may want to find your BMB (May or June 2019?) and join their community as they will be having the same experiences as you now. Congrats!

  • I've heard 95+% accurate. My friend and I both had it drawn. She is having a girl and I'm having a boy. Both correct.

I would find your bump group though. We're getting to the end of ours  :)
