June Symptoms

Re: June Symptoms

  • @hillbillywife I have watery discharge a lot but I am pretty confident it's not amniotic fluid. But, that's me and not you so get checked out if you're worried.

@owl_momma I think it is okay to lose a few lbs especially if ur MW isn't concerned. Baby could still be gaining weight while you lose other weight...had a giant poop lately?? Haha

  • @wildtot ugh me too on the super low/no comfortable position thing. There are times when each step I take feels like a huge punch in my cervix, like I can't even stand up straight and have to walk hunched over. I'm still not really expecting anything to happen until 39-40 weeks (and it better happen that week or I'm being induced), I think he will just hang out down there making me miserable until the bitter end.

@wildtot thanks for checking in! I think it’s fine. Idk. It doesn’t seem urgent enough to call in because I don’t notice it all the time, other than an all around general dampness. But it doesn’t seem like something I should put off either. Idk.

@flockofmoosen3 yeah. I don’t know that I think it’s actually amniotic fluid either. Anxiety has to have something to do right now I guess..

@owl_momma At my last appointment my OB mentioned that losing some weight between appointments is okay and that I could go up and down between now and the end.

DH mentioned to me yesterday morning that I've been snoring really badly and he's surprised I'm able to get any sleep.  So, even though it's not bothering me, I guess that's a fun symptom.

  • I didn't put any weight after week 29, then lost a pound, and now put on a couple of pounds in the past weekish, so it looks like it can easily fluctuate! Poops will do it, lol

  • My weight has generally been the same since I was diagnosed with GD about 17 weeks ago - sometimes I gain and lose the same couple pounds but it's been pretty flat. Nobody is worried at all. I was a bit overweight going into the pregnancy since I held onto a lot of the baby weight from # 1, and clearly the baby is gaining weight just fine so the rest of my fat stores must be losing weight at the same time the baby is gaining.
  • Another weird set of symptoms that makes me kind of nervous.

The last couple of mornings I’ve eaten breakfast around 8. Today (I can’t remember the other mornings) I didn’t have a snack before lunch. I’ve been having what feel like blood sugar crashes. I feel super hungry and I get like a hot flash where I’m sweaty and hot. I’m super shaky and dizzy. I try to eat quick and I can usually get it to go away but then I’m SUPER tired. I had to lay down yesterday and I fell asleep right away. After that I felt a lot better but I was drained.

    Anyone else?
  • @amdftw I've been snoring a lot recently too. I've actually woken myself up a few times doing it.

Also, I've been extra salivay during the night...I'll have dreams that I'm spitting, and then I actually wake myself up spitting onto my pillow...it's super gross and weird.

  • +1 for drool-city every night - for the entire pregnancy! It's so gross.

  • Drool city here too! I normally drool a little but since getting pregnant it's been worse...damn, we're so sexy!
  • Ugh - +1 for super drooley   Also last night I for sure hit DH hard in the middle of the night because of a dream I was having..   Sorry dude.
  • @hillbillywife yup - sounds like what I did this week - just need to be better about eating regularly, upping protein, and keeping some OJ or quick sugar on hand.  Nurse said once a bad enough sugar crash happens you're out of it for the rest of the day.  I haven't passed out since Tuesday, but still had an annoying headache even if i got the sugar under control quickly.  You're doing the right thing - but I'd mention it next visit.

I don't know what's up with my body lately.  With DD I delivered 13 lb lighter than I started due to all the MS.  This pregnancy I was net 0 for a long time, lost 10 with all the stomach bugs, then got back to net 0 for a long time... Now I think I've gained 15 lb in a month - up 4 from Tuesday alone.  And I pooped before weigh in today! Not sure if it's connected to my recent glucose issues and having to force-feed myself every couple hours if I'm hungry or not or DS measuring approx 5 lb at 32 weeks >_<

  • +1 for drooling! I wake up and wipe my face and have a string of drool coming from my hands some nights. SO attractive lol My snoogle cover needs a good washing now that I think of it.  :#
  • I don’t if it is because I have been reading stories here about high blood pressure or just in general paranoid that something is going to go wrong. But yesterday after work, I ran around the house doing chores and then took my son for a walk in the stroller. I sat down for dinner and felt dizzy. After dinner, I climbed the stairs to get the laundry and I saw floaters in my vision. I think I just over did it and it was hot / humid out. But I started panicking that I was getting pre-e. Then when I laid down at night my neck and back were hurting and pain was shooting down my arm. I then started panicking that I was going to have a heart attack. If I dozed off, I would wake startled. I think I had an anxiety attack. The thought crossed my mind that I should go to the hospital but didn’t even talk to DH about what was going on so it must have been anxiety and not really a heart attack. I ended finding meditation for anxiety / no sleep on utube. It worked like a charm. I woke up to my phone by my head. The pain was gone and I was calm. Weird.
  • @gingerbride26 yep I realized that I hadn’t eaten any protein today so far (or yesterday). I’ll mention it at my appointment in a couple weeks and try to up the protein.
  • @chaser61 sounds like anxiety to me but better keep an eye on the symptoms nonetheless!
@hillbillywife I make hard boiled eggs at the beginning of the week now as they are a quick high protein snack I can grab anytime.
  • @kissableviv I'm so envious of your ability to eat hard boiled eggs - pre-pregnancy I would eat them all the time for snacks, but they were my first and longest lasting food aversion.
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • If you're lazy like me, they actually make premade hard boiled eggs that most grocery stores sell, the ones at Trader Joe's are good. However, I ate them SO MUCH for breakfast due to limited options with GD that I developed an aversion to them, I literally started gagging on them while driving to work one day.

Other really convenient protein sources I've been relying on: string cheese, peanut butter, protein bars, chocolate milk (or I  guess regular milk if you want to be more healthy), greek yogurt (much more protein than regular), meal replacement protein shakes like the nature valley chocolate ones, or special K if you want to save money. And of course a handful of nuts are always easy, but I was never a huge nut person. Just some ideas in case you're looking for some @hillbillywife
  • @kissableviv good idea! My DD loves hard boiled eggs too. I’ll have to get some eggs!

Thanks for the suggestions @zande2016. I’ll have to make sure I’m stocked up! I ate a pb sandwich and 2 cheese sticks and that helped me feel a bit better.

I’m pretty sure I experienced some Braxton Hicks contractions today because I kept feeling these strong cramps, like a belt across the center of my belly. But I was mostly likely just dehydrated because they went away after I downed a ton of water. I never experienced BH with DD, so it was strange to feel those pains before labor.

And I am right there with you @zande2016 on the pelvic pain. It has become debilitating. I can barely get out of bed, let alone walk or chase my toddler around, as the pain gets more intense every day. I’m so ready to have this baby.
  • @acunamatada +1 for uncomfortably active LO.
  • Baby boy has also been super active and crazy he actually woke me up this morning. We went to see Solo last night and he was rocking and rolling the whole time.

I've definitely gone through a growth spurt this week. I start feeling big and "stretched out" after lunch. Those small meals need to become the norm, shouldn't be hard except I've had some cravings popping back. Anyways I feel like the skin around my stomach is literally super stretched. Totally normal but for me it just started now at 36 weeks. Baby is active which is good but his foot is still safely in my rib! At this point in hoping I'm going to be too big soon for him to turn and that makes me feel better.

Met a mom from prenatal and mom and baby Yoga, her baby was breech and she did not choose to.try the version, in the end it was a c section. Interested in seeing what happens to the two other people I know who have breech babies.

    @SmashJam,any changes for you?
  • Also very uncomfortably active baby going on over here. I can’t wear pants or shorts that put even the least bit of pressure on my lower stomach area/pubic area. As I was driving to the grocery store this morning I was pretty much yelping in pain (by myself) in the car. I think he’s trying to head butt his way out of me.
  • I decided this weekend no more car trips longer than 15 minutes for me.  It's horribly uncomfortable, my legs are basically pushing him and any bump or turn that jostles him makes me cringe.  I thought it was just when I was driving myself, but DH drove us to my parents house yesterday (45 minutes) and was just as miserable.

I also woke up all night alternating between having cramps and having acid up my throat.  What a joy!

33 weeks...that's how long it took before I started getting stretch marks. Sad.
  • @MichelleAG05 I was in a car up to the mountains this weekend: 3 hours each way. So very uncomfortable. I wore compression socks on the way up and my feet were HUGE when we got there. No more road trips that's for sure.

@MichelleAG05  I’m with you on banning long car rides. Every turn feels like a kick to the pelvis.

Anyone else feel like baby’s head is just about to pop right out? I was 2cm and 50% effaced at my last appointment, which I know could mean nothing and I may not progress anymore for weeks, but baby’s head is literally just rubbing against my cervix. I cannot foresee this going on for 3 more weeks.
  • At what point do OBs start checking for dilation? I feel like last time mine didn't check till my due date but I'm not sure and it looks like a lot of July ladies have been checked.

I felt really good this weekend and had all this energy to get a ton done around the house. Today I'm ok but definitely feeling the pressure in my vagina while sitting at work. I am still struggling to eat and always feel full and just out of room.

  • @nimmle yup i made the mistake to look under my belly with a mirror and saw more than i thought i saw. I have about 3 from DS and a few new ones especially scares that are stretching. Very sad.
@emsnedds I’m getting the same feelings but i have no idea how I’m progressing yet. I hope i can make it 3.5 more weeks!
  • @runsomewhere my midwives at my last practice didn't check til the due date, but I think at some places they'll start at 36, or whenever you start weekly appts, or if there is a concern. My midwives wouldn't check so they wouldn't give false hope, and I never dilated before induction anyway so it was good I didn't know nothing was happening before my due date, lol.
  • emsnedemsned member
@runsomewhere @wildtot  Both of my OBs (the one one this time around, and my last one for DD) started checking my progress around 36/37 weeks. But I’ve heard a lot of other women say they don’t get checked until they either mention feeling contractions or when their due date is looming.
  • @SmashJam I feel like I forgot so much from just 2.5 years ago. I was induced at 41 weeks and nothing was happening at the time of induction AT ALL so maybe no one said anything so I wouldn't stress lol. However, I did have 3 membrane sweeps prior to induction, maybe he checked for dilation then. IDK.

I do remember that at my 3rd membrane sweep I told the doctor to sweep those membranes harder this time since the other two had no impact  :no_mouth:
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @runsomewhere yeah they must have known then, you were at least a little dilated because you have to be for the membrane sweep! I remember I was so disappointed when they told me I couldn't get swept because they couldn't even REACH my cervix!
  • @SmashJam oh that's interesting, I had no idea. I still feel so new to this stuff sometimes despite being a STM.

I'm seeing my OB tomorrow so I'll ask him then but I wonder if/when I should do my first membrane sweep this time. I would love to not have to be induced this time but I also don't want to rush things.
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @runsomewhere I am getting my GBS test and cervix check at the same time next week for my 36 week appt.

@emsnedds I agree that dilation now doesn't mean much (I was the same at 36 weeks last two times), but I can't help me a little excited for you that you're already dilated! How many weeks are you again?

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • I went back through my birth book from my birth class last time and now I'm worried that I'm going to need cervadil again.  I had a LEEP procedure done years ago and my book talks about that scar tissue will often prevent much dilation from occurring, but that cervadil can assist (2 doses of it put me into full blown labor in my last induction).  I'll add that to my list to talk to my doc about this week.
