  • I think the back end pressure is a nasty H! Didn’t dare to look at it but i can feel something while showering. This pregnancy is so different from DS. So many new symptoms!  :(
  • @kissableviv so I have been talking to HR about taking time off before baby and was so disappointed to find out that our employer does not opt in to the state disability where you can take up to 4 weeks off before baby. We have our disability through liberty mutual and only get 2 weeks before our due date. So I won’t officially be on maternity leave until July 17th.
You would think working for a state university, we would opt into that disability.

@zande2016 @kc1293 I’m hoping my midwife will give me a note next week. When I met with my OB last week I expressed that the commute is getting tough and I tend to have a lot of Braxton Hicks once I get settled at my desk. She said resolve with rest and rushed through my appt. would love to know how I can rest at my cubicle. Lol. she’s kind of cold so I didn’t feel like she would give me a note. However I meet with my midwife next week and she is a lot warmer and understanding. My house is 7 min from the hospital so I’m just afraid of having any type of contractions or labor closer to work. In reality it’s an 11 mile drive from home but the traffic makes it usually about an hour—more if there’s an accident, fire, etc. My boss even had delivered her last child on the freeway bc of traffic! Definitely don’t want that type of birth story.

  • @krystlerr wow that is crazy about your boss! I used to live in the DC metro area and my 13 mile work commute was at least an hour. Once it was 4 when it rained. eesh.
  • OMG I can't imagine an 11 mile commute taking an hour, that must be torture. Mine is about 40 miles each way and takes an hour without traffic, so its a lot of driving, and the roads are sooo bad with all the potholes and whatnot, it can be pretty painful. My boss is literally never around anymore so I am just going to end up emailing her and let her know I am working  from home starting at 37 weeks, and if she gives me a problem, then I will ask MW for a note and feel confident she'll  give it to me.
  • All of your commutes sound terrible - feeling so sorry for you!!

I'm doing the "is it fluid or regular discharge?" 'dance' this morning... woke up with some very fluid-like marks in my underwear, and then some more a few minutes after I put new underwear on after the shower...but I was like...is that just water from the shower? And now I'm just obsessively checking my underwear at work and it's awkward.  I'm probably just being paranoid, but I also don't want to dismiss myself that easily.  Oh the struggles...

Just got back from my appointment. I have progressed from 2cm to 3cm. Getting checked hurt more this time, when it didn’t hurt at all last time.  I have also been having a strange tightening feeling in my lower abdomen ever since I left my appointment a few hours ago. Not cramping, but tightening, and it’s kind of uncomfortable.  I’m trying to relax and not induce labor because my DH won’t be back in town until June 30th.  I just don’t know if I can last that long.

Has anyone been feeling their abdomen/uterus vibrate or shake pretty heavily? I got that several times today, plan to ask about it at my appointment tomorrow. I assume it’s the baby, but it’s such a weird feeling....
  • I went to movies and dinner with DH today.. LO was moving so much and so aggressively I thought she was trying to claw her way out.. Meanwhile we’re watching Hereditary and I’m trying not to pee myself.

I figured it’s just baby playing the bongos on my tummy!

  • @rachelsogo @sm05-2 could it also be reflexes?? I haven't felt them as intensely but I have felt it all shaking a few times.
  • @sm05-2 I do from time to time. When they’re newbies sometimes they vibrate/shake because of their developing nervous system. I assumed it was something like that going on. Very weird!
  • Catching up!

@runsomewhere I was totally thinking about asking the doc to do a sweep if I’m dilated at my 36 week appointment. I’d love to not be induced this time too. I think she’ll say no, but worth a shot, right?

@emsnedds how are you doing? Did anything ever start up?
  • @hillbillywife I'm going to ask my doctor at my appointment on Tuesday about when he's comfortable starting sweeps and what steps I can take to avoid induction this time. I definitely don't want to rush this baby but I also don;t want to be induced like I was with DD.

I am feeling burned the F out today. I had all this energy last weekend and now I'm feeling so tired and uncomfortable sitting at my desk  :/

  • I was a little bit crampy last night. Baby felt low and he was having a dance party! I'm also a bit constipated so I'm sure that didn't help. Send good poop vibes for today, lol! Off to make some lemon water!

And then all I want for breakfast is a donut...
  • nimmlenimmle member
@runsomewhere I'm so sorry you're feeling tired today after feeling so good lately. Hopefully you'll get another second wind soon!

  • @kissableviv good luck with pooping today!

@nimmle thanks, I need that second wind so bad! I have a ton to do once my leave starts.

  • @sm05-2 I've felt that a few times - sometimes when I stretch my legs out they shake involuntarily...I was thinking that's what's going on with baby?

I eat bananas twice a day and I'm still getting insane charlie horses in the middle of the night....I have no idea what to do.
  • edited June 2018
@nimmle are you getting enough water in the day?  I find my charlie horses intensify with dehydration as well.

ETA: also - try making sure your sheets/blankets aren't getting tangled at your feet.  I know this sounds weird but I always get charlie horses when my feet are tangled up in my sheets and I'm trying to get untangled in my sleep - this might mean sleeping with your legs/feet outside of the blankets.

@nimmle try increasing your water intake. I was in the same situation and that seems to have worked for me.

@sm05-2 i have felt that a few times and it has caught me off guard. It’s normal. Just big movements.

@kissableviv butter! Eat something with more butter than normal and you’ll be good to go!
  • nimmlenimmle member
@canucklehead123 I'm chugging water like crazy because my friends and I do weekly challenges to make sure we get enough during the day. I already sleep with the legs outside the blankets because I always get warm at night and I feel bad if I make it too cold for DH. 68 degrees is his limit although I know he sneaks out and raises it sometimes. I'm not sure what it is, maybe I'm on my feet too much? I'm hoping maybe it's because I've been doing a lot of dancing with my show and maybe it will settle down when it's over Saturday.
  • @acunamatada my DH started joking yesterday about LO army crawling his way out. In DD's swim lessons they sing a song about getting out of the pool that goes "Elbow, elbow, tummy knee". He started singing that about LO coming ohtandoi thought I was going to pee I laughed so hard! I was like "OMG, please make sure I have an epi before that!!!!"
  • @nimmle oh man - then I got nothin'!! Hopefully they will get better soon - have you talked to your doctor about them?

@canucklehead123 I haven't talked to my doc about it yet. I have an appointment tomorrow am so I'll bring it up among a million other questions I have!

@hillbillywife Thanks for checking (:  I had some serious Braxton Hicks last night all the way up until I went to bed, but I feel a lot better today. I think having my cervix checked really messed with my body, so maybe I should avoid it from now on so I can hold off labor for as long as possible. It will be really hard though, because my imagination gets really bad when I don’t know for sure how much I’ve progressed.

And I think it’s always worth asking! If you really want a sweep, then the worst that can happen is your doc will just say no. Maybe they’ll give you a date when they would be willing to do a sweep if they don’t feel comfortable doing it right away.

@nimmle ouch! I hate leg cramps! I agree with PP about more water, and I hope it works!

@MichelleAG05 LOL! The visual that song gives me is making me chuckle  :D
  • @nimmle I also had a few charlie horses episodes last night. I am going to take a bath tonight before bed and roll on the foam roller too.I feel like I am drinking enough water but part of me thinks it's the same amount I drank pre-pregnancy so I should up it. Had a banana for breakfast in my yogurt.

@And846 so that means I can have the donut?? LOL. I am eating out for both lunch and dinner so I opted for yogurt with fruit instead. Hoping the coffee works its magic!
  • @kissableviv if there is ever an option for donuts, the answer should always be YES!

@runsomewhere My dr told me she can't do sweeps until 39 weeks because it's technically considered a form of inducement, and she can't legally induce (outside of medical reasons) before then.

  • Since I know you were dying to know, I am happy to report coffee did the trick! XD
  • And846And846 member
@kissableviv coffee always does the job!
  • Anyone getting a jumpstart on stool softeners? I’m so tired of this BM game. I was bummed target was out of colace last weekend.
  • @runsomewhere good plan. I think I’ll ask too.

@emsnedds glad you’re doing better! My friend got a check at 36 weeks and was bummed because she wasn’t dilated at all so she skipped her 37 week check and was dying because she didn’t know if she was dilating at all so she got a check again at 38 weeks lol.

@kc1293 dang it. I probably will get an answer like that too.

@wildtot I haven’t but it’s probably a good idea. I took a dose for a couple days when my hemorrhoid was really bugging me, but it’d be better to keep everything nice and soft leading up to delivery.
  • For the first time today I feel a lot of pressure right above my pubic bone. I think she's just really leaning on it today but it's making me waddle like a penguin!
I can't wait until my 36 appt to find out if I am dilated at all--next Tuesday!
If I feel good about where I am with work stuff and if I don't have any important meetings afterwards, I may ask for a membrane sweep at my 39 week appt like I did last time.

    Update with TMI:

My mucus plug totally just fell out. I don’t remember it falling out with my last pregnancy, but there is no denying it this time. I’m 100% positive I just lost my mucus plug.

Hello paranoia, my old friend.  Now I can’t help but wonder if I’ve progressed even more since my appointment yesterday. I’m scared to do anything or go anywhere because it feels like baby will now have clearance to headbutt my cervix and cause my water to break.

If anyone is looking for me, I will be on the couch, trying to convince myself that every little twinge is not necessarily labor.
  • @emsnedds I'm sorry. Try to relax and keep us posted. Looks like this baby is keeping you on your toes:(

@acunamatada did you like Hereditary?? I did!
  • @emsnedds take it easy and fingers crossed that baby waits for your husband to get home. How far along are you?
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @emsnedds yikes! Take it easy today! Will be wishing away all impending labor thoughts from you!
  • emsnedemsned member
Thank you ladies! I’ll let you know if anything changes.  It feels like the baby is trying to wiggle his/her head out as I type. Fingers crossed this baby is too comfy to make an early arrival. @runsomewhere I am due July 2nd, so I’m between 37-38 weeks. Who knows, maybe I’ll last another week or two (wishful thinking?)
