Thanks for the responses. I do have a doctor's appointment in a week, so I will ask then, for sure. From your responses, I gather I might either be ok, or it might be more serious. I've never had these until I got pregnant, that's for sure, so hopefully it's just one of the symptoms  ;) I think one of the explanations is that blood vessels expand to be able to pump more blood, which is what causes migraines in pregnancy.

  • @ab_canada I would definitely contact your doctor!
  • @ab_canada Hope you’re feeling a bit better and glad you have an appt coming up! Common things being common, it may just be a migraine. The reason I suggested going to your family doc is not because it sounds alarming, but because I think it’s the safest thing to do with any new symptom.

Keeping in mind you’re not my patient.... but for what it’s worth, what I would say to a patient: if it happens again with any worsening/new symptoms - which I doubt, but just to be safe (e.g. visual loss not returning, trouble speaking or walking, sudden weakness/numbness on one side of the body, fainting, worst headache of your life) those would be reasons to go straight to the ER. Again, less likely but good to keep in mind.

Either way, I hope this goes away and doesn’t bother you again! Keep us updated
  • @ab_canada Have you had migraines or vision changes like this before? I get this quite often (the first time it happened I was convinced I was going blind or had a brain tumor) and sometimes a migraine ensues, other times it doesn't. I wouldn't get too freaked out over it, but definitely a good idea to mention it to your doctor!
  • @coco2787 SAME. I think I'm going to have to switch deodorants. This happened to me last pregnancy too!
  • so the hospital i work next to I guess shut down their cafeteria for renovations and has a food truck instead. I went there and got a delicious burger with potato salad. I knew as I ate it that it was too much food and I'd feel terrible after.
Well, I ate it all. And now I feel terrible. Why did I do this to myself

@Jen_Hoes I don't know, but when you figure it out, will you let me know? I do the same thing, smh.

  • @ab_canada -- Feel better!! The only time I ever got migraines or was light headed was due to pregnancy or shortly after birth. Hopefully your dr appt will tell you what's up! :) Keeping you in my thoughts!

Symptoms are the same for me; still on with the backaches although they have lessened a bit. I'm dying for a burrito right now though. I think I'll hit up Chipotle on my lunch break. I avoided it entirely my last pregnancy due to the E Coli issues a couple years ago which was awful given it's basically my favorite place to eat. :)

@hallgire currently contemplating if I should get some for dinner. But my appetite has been wonky. And I just had some toasted marshmallow Milano’s.
    The bloat is real today.

  • @hkom I have the book Mayo Clinic Guide to a healthy pregnancy and was reading about week 8 since I’m entering that and it mentioned that during this period the placenta is growing and securing its attachment and this can sometimes result in minor bleeding. It made me think of you, I think I remember you being about a week ahead of me so maybe that explains your sudden spotting! Just wanted to share! I’m sure you’ve already googled the heck out of it!

@nerdeebird That is so thoughtful, thank you!   I actually have that book too but I haven't picked it up in a while.   Looks like I need to read some more  :D

There are so many logical explanations for spotting but my brain doesn't want to hear any of them!

*Edit* I have got to stay off Google.

Thanks, ladies. I felt normal after about a half an hour. Just had a very minor headache after.

  • First off, apologies. I am apparently really bad at keeping up with all of you on here. (Big sad face) I constantly keep forgetting about the community on here despite how much I look at the app itself. Can I blame pregnancy brain yet?? Working on putting more effort into keeping up.

9 weeks 3 days today. Very very tired and nauseated if I dont eat often. Other then that I've been feeling pretty good over all. I'm on "light bedrest" because of a subchorionic hemorrhage so I've definitely been able to nap often. I have an appt tomorrow to check in on baby and me.

Hope all you ladies are doing well!

Anyone else having MOTN MS? I wake up during the night almost every night now feeling incredibly nauseous, sometimes several times a night. This didn’t happen at all my first pregnancy.

I guess I’m just looking for sympathy. This sucks guys.

  • @krob, not with this pregnancy but definitely with my first.  I would have to get up in the middle of the night and eat a snack.  Anytime I went more than a few hours without eating I would get really nauseous, even at night.

  • Phew! I knew many women had sore boobs, but its most women! My boobs are KILLING me. One has like doubled in size and the other is just, there! but they both hurt to do anything, at all. I am wearing a sports bra all the time because it keeps them from moving the most!!
Also, I cry for no reason. Like mid conversation I feel my eyes welling up. Yup, not reason at all... and I am always tired, like ALWAYS.
I had my first apt yesterday and my get small cramps in waves, they dont hurt just like that feeling like youre about to get your period, they said I was dehydrated. Let me tell you ladies, I am SO THIRSTY lately, that I am probably drinking 120-150oz of water a day. It's insane, I am a runner so I always drank a lot of water, but c'mon man!
Also, I started having little drops of brown blood, mostly when I pee and I see it when I go to flush (they said it looks way worse in the water), and it barely shows on the TP, they dont seem concerned and say its probably either old blood clearing out and/or placenta implantation, but I had a freaking panic attack when I saw it for the first time. I am trying to relax, but my anxiety has gotten way worse since being pregnant.

Oh, and coffee=nausea. I was only drinking a 10 oz cup, but I cant even handle it now, so I have had a small headache for days now. It has to subside soon... Ill be using your hints to curb the nausea though!
  • @KratzyInLove I have also had brown discharge and it freaked me out, but my levels are still doubling. I know it’s hard, because I can’t stop myself either, but try not to worry.
  • hkomhkom member
@KratzyInLove I've been having the exact same spotting for the past week as well.  My logical brain says it's totally normal and everything is fine, but my emotional brain goes crazy.  So I know how you feel.  I thought I would be more chill about all of this but I was so wrong.

Yesterday was the most bloated I’ve ever been in my life. It was awful. I opted for a roomy maxi skirt today and it feels so much better.
Nausea is back today which I’m kind of glad for. The preggie drops really help.
@KratzyInLove I hear you on the water! I love Dasani sparkling so I bring that to work and pour it in my water bottle with some ice. I try to stir it to get some of the bubbles out because no way do I need more gas right now!
I hope the blood is alright. It doesn’t sound like it’s anything to be worried about but I totally understand your anxiety.

My left has always been bigger than my right, pregnancy and breastfeeding just makes it worse lol.

I am so ridiculously tired today! I don't want to be at work at all :bawling:

Also re:deodorant...FFC I've always had issues with BO. I need extra strong deodorant or it wears off. But, I'm also allergic to the aluminum in anti-perspirant, so probably about 98% of deodorant doesn't work for me. I've tried Toms, Native, Men's Speed Stick, NOTHING WORKS!! The Native just smells weird on top of the BO, and wears off over time. This has all gotten worse with pregnancy...so that leads me to a question. Does anyone know if alcohol used topically is safe? Or is that still a no? And I'm talking, 120 proof liquor, not rubbing alcohol. A friends husband found a blog where this lady made a "deodorant" out of alcohol and vinegar (and some EOs for scent) and they've both said it works great! I was gonna try it, then got pregnant and just haven't yet because idk if that'd be safe or not...I plan to ask my OB at my next appt on the 14th, but curious if any of you ladies know, or even have other suggestions!

that was me this morning, I waited too long after getting to work to make food and I got overly nauseated and was never able to pull myself back together today.
And of course this was after thinking this morning that I had felt so great yesterday and was worried about vanishing symptoms.... thanks baby for reminding me YOU'RE STILL THERE RUINING MY LIFE
  • @CecilB93 I don’t know about the topical alcohol question, but have you tried arm & hammer deodorant? (Like the baking soda). That’s the one I use and it is aluminum free. It’s just a deodorant though, not an anti perspirant, so you might still sweat. Idk if it’s the sweating or the odor that you are looking for a solution to.
  • Still haven't gotten to the point where I've felt like I'm going to throw up... but I definitely start feeling off if I get too hungry or I eat too much. Also, my coffee was disgusting this morning - I might need to switch to black tea. All that sounds good is stuff that's super bland - bananas, vanilla shake with fruit in it, toast with PB, etc. Or Mexican food. ALL the Mexican food. I feel like I'm constantly eating because I have to eat so slowly or I feel gross.

My husband and I are usually low carb (him more than me, but I'm still lower carb than the standard American diet). I was really glad when he brought up the question to the doctor yesterday about eating habits and what it might look like in the first trimester. The doctor basically said that it's all about calories right now and with food aversions or nausea and the like, that I should eat what I can eat when I can eat it. My husband wouldn't have stopped me from eating say a thing of chips with salsa and sour cream, but maybe would have been like "is that really nutritious for the baby?" :D I'm going to try and get in lots of good things and I'm seeing a nutritionist just for some support and thinking about the things I really need to try and have, but I don't think today is that day, lol.

Also, I'm super bloated. I bought a bella band off of Amazon last week and it is saving me right now. It's all bloat but ALL of my work pants are so uncomfortable and I refuse to buy new pants yet!

I did! I forgot about it, but I'm pretty sure that was the first non-antiperspirant one I tried and I LOVED it!! It's so hard for me to find anywhere though! I gave up looking...I may need to just order it in bulk online or something. And it's just the odor I'm looking for a solution to.

  • Add me to the lopsided boob club. Last night I was laying on the couch and repositioned the girls to get comfortable & thought one felt larger. I shrugged it off thinking it was just the way I was laying. Then I read all of these comments and gave them a good look before my shower this morning and one looks like a whole cup size larger than the other. I feel like I’m going through puberty again. Lol.

I’m also wondering if there is a way to macgyver a frankenbra with one cup smaller and padded & and the other cup larger? That sounds like too much work. I’ll just wait and see if they even out.
  • @runrinserepeat and @kristah2 +1 on feeling tired all day and constantly ready for a nap! I've never been this tired in my life!
Something new for me that started last week is not being able to brush my teeth without gagging. I don't know where it's coming from, but it's super annoying and I've never had a problem before! If my toothbrush gets anywhere near the back of my mouth/tongue, I feel like I'm gonna throw up. No fun!
@mag1cbeli3ver The brushing teeth and gagging thing — hasn’t happened yet for me this time but was horrible last time until after I delivered. The last trimester I would throw up every time I brushed my teeth. Which made me want to brush my teeth again....

Last time around I had horrible ms with n/v from week 8 through 17. The daily morning vomit started yesterday at only 6 weeks. I’m trying to tell myself that if it starts earlier maybe it will end earlier too?
  • @krob YES to middle of the night nausea. It's fine if I'm asleep, but if I wake up for any reason (and I have been lately, to rock my DD back to sleep because she's teething) it is AWFUL. I had to have my husband bring me a bagel with peanut butter in the dead of the night because I was afraid I was going to puke while rocking my daughter in the glider. This didn't happen with any of my other pregnancies either - it sucks! I sympathize!

I did rubbing alcohol w/body spray for a little bit. I liked that it quickly made my pits dry and scented, but it did nothing for odor or wetness prevention.

I’ve been loving LaVanila deo from Sephora. It curbs both odor and wetness a bit, but not entirely of course. So far I like the lavender scent more than lemon, but I know that’s just personal preference.

Do they need to be glass? I've had great luck with the plastic Blender Bottle shakers or Bottled Joy ones, I just take out the shakers and use them for water mostly though.

Feeling good today! Thanks for asking! I'm not even tired, which is just amazing considering I got 2 less hours of sleep yesterday.. it will probably catch up but for now I'm celebrating having energy  :D

  • @texas_t this has been me the last few days around mid-morning. One second I'm fine and then out of no where I'm starving and I must eat immediately or I feel like I'm going to pass out. I've been letting myself buy the more expensive individually wrapped snacks so I have easy to grab stashes whenever I need them.

@kadeephd I've also gone through a few glass water bottles and had to stop buying them... I'm just too clumsy for that level of responsibility...

@omnommer ugh I finally allowed myself to have coffee today for the first time because I've been really craving it and it made me feel sooo gross. very sad moment.
