Question for the group: Has anyone done a blog to document your IVF / fertility journey? I've been considering doing one. Lots of people / family don't really understand since it was "easy" for them. So thought it maybe beneficial and therapeutic as well. I'm not one to post all over my Facebook my journey because I figure it would like like opening Pandora's Box and so many people will be asking for updates.

@kristimh80 I am always on google and reading fertility blogs. If you decide start blogging, I hope it will be beneficial and therapeutic for you and know it will definitely help others’ in their fertility journey.
AFM, my second beta came in with a 49.7 hour doubling time. Phew. I’m not sure what’s next. They are supposed to call me on Monday.
@alfieb-2 Wonderful news!! I assume the next step will be when they do your ultrasound. Keep us updated! Hopefully, you're in the clear for the moment and can take a break and enjoy it all

@ndz2018 exciting!! I’m gonna be jealous of your estrogen high!
@dragonette505 True. We get so many questions when with family, it's like learning another language to them. I only wish I had written down things as I went along so could dig into the emotional side a little deeper.

@kristimh80 Go for it! I am not a blogger but have some friends who do (not about Infertility). It’s seems easy enough. I think the hardest part is just getting started. Once you get started be sure to share. I would love to read it!
@dragonette505 your PIO will be fine! I started yesterday and all is well. I’ve done them on my own and didn’t do the whole dart motion like they say and it didn’t hurt at all. I can’t imagine having to use that gel...gross.
AFM, I started PIO in the AM yesterday and switch to AM and PM on Wednesday. Started my antibiotics this morning (I didn’t throw up this time, thank God) and will start my steroid tonight. DH comes back from his work trip tonight so he will resume his job as shot giver in the morning . Thankfully he also got approval to go in late to work on transfer day!
@J1006 yay that your dh will be at transfer! I think mine is going to work from home after transfer (that’s what he did last time) but he was still able to fetch and carry for me lol, not that I really need it! I’m pretty bad with needles (I tear up most times just giving blood) so obviously this whole process has been a pill lol
AFM, monitoring this morning showed a 1.9 cm follicle and 10.9 mm lining so I trigger tonight for transfer on Saturday! Still waiting on the call re: bloodwork but they were fairly confident without it that it's go time! So so so happy I'm going earlier than expected and don't have to take any time off work. I'm hosting a party Sat night but it's a potluck and my housekeeper comes on Friday so I really don't have much to do. My RE doesn't believe in any type of rest anyway so I'm not on any restrictions although I try to take it easy.

Ok , so my clinic just called and they were getting some more information from me and my stomach just dropped.. they were asking the specifics and said “ just want to confirm that we will be doing a single embryo transfer and if the male embryo doesn’t survive the thaw we’ll be using a female, correct?” IDK why but that made me feel sick to my stomach. I knew in the back of my mind he may not survive the thaw but I feel that It became real when she said it out loud. I agreed 1 Bc I only have girls left and 2 because first and foremost I want a baby. She said she will call back with instructions in a bit but i have not doubt it’ll be 2 Estradriol to start and after next monitoring 3.
@ndz2018 wow. They have no bedside manners. I think my office makes us sign a form, but they don’t reiterate it out loud. Don’t worry, though. I think there’s a high success rate of embryos surviving the thaw...like 90%. Your boy will be fine.
@ndz2018 i agree with @alfieb-2. Like we don’t have enough to worry about! Mine is in the consent form but my doctor didn’t read it to us. We had to unthaw ours once already to redo the PGS testing. Our embryologist said if they are high enough quality to transfer they are strong enough to survive a thaw as long as it’s done correctly. Your baby boy will be just fine!
@tosh24 yay! So exciting. So many transfers this week!
@tosh24 so close! I don’t know my new clinics instructions about rest after transfer, but my last clinic said just be a couch potato on the first day (transfer day) and go back to normal after. I’ve seen where ppl have been told to take a WEEK of bed rest which seems crazy! Since you’re going on the weekend it should be fine just to have a party @morganelizabeth123 good luck!!!!! @ndz2018 the same thing bummed the he’ll out of me on Friday.... we had to sign the paperwork and say they could thaw them all until they got one that survived:( it sux to have to think about it @alfieb-2 my clinic did reiterate it aloud... they don’t want ppl to say they didn’t know
im currently sitting here compiling my transfer day Netflix and chill list I don’t even want to figure out what movie I will watch on that day
@alfieb-2 and @J1006 Thank you guys that made me feel much better! They just called and 2 Estradriol twice a day... back for morning monitoring Thur. Tentative transfer May 6th I’ll speak to my nurse this week and confirm!
You guys your transfers are so close! This is all happening!!
@kristimh80, blog sounds like a great idea. I once thought I would do a food blog cause I love to cook and ...eat...but never could find time. It's a great way to let others have more knowledge. I for one learned more from you guys and blogs than I did for ok m NY clic or RE!
@alfieb-2, that's great that your numbers doubled. I have an appointment tomorrow. Will keep you guys updated.
@tosh24, that clinic sounds very blunt! If it was already in the consent...why keep saying it! It's great you finally have a transfer date!
@smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 Funny you say that...I feel the same. Without you all I'd be a lost puppy and feel so alone! I tried to recruit a friend the other day, she actually told me that her doctor and husband told her NO to our type groups and to stay off of here. I couldn't believe it...I had never heard of such a thing! We have a local fertility group here and I've met some amazing girls thru also that during IVF we went for coffee, dinner etc. It really helps having support. I can't imagine a doctor saying not to.
@ndz2018 Deeps breaths! Your little boy is going to be just fine!! I feel like the % I always see that don't make the thaw are like Day 1- 3 embryos. Usually, if they make day 5 - 6, and can be tested for PGS...they are pretty strong
@tosh24 YAY for your transfer day better pushed up!!
So many Transfer Day's are on the horizon! So excited for you all!!

Ladies who are taking their PIO themselves? I’m going to ask tomorrow when I got to the doc. My ass is all bruised up from my husband helping me. He doesn’t look when he injects and it gets shoved farther in ugh. I thought I had this crap in the bag since I'm use to always doing my shots alone the past 7 years but for some reason this is diff. Even my trigger I broke down into two shots so I could do myself and use a smaller needle. This time no go. Nothing would come out of the tiny needle and either my ass is too fat I can't maneuver holding and sticking my own butt. Then he leaves for the week tomorrow morning so I need to find the best way to do the thigh which totally freaks me out.

@mcgeeva I did mine myself. Always used a heating pad on the area, then used it to heat up the oil in the syringe so it went in a little faster. If you do it yourself, it's easy to stand in front of a mirror, but take the weight off the leg / side you're going to inject

tonight I have my first PIO.... keeping my fingers crossed it goes easy!
@dragonette505 True. We get so many questions when with family, it's like learning another language to them. I only wish I had written down things as I went along so could dig into the emotional side a little deeper.

DH comes back from his work trip tonight so he will resume his job as shot giver in the morning
@dragonette505 woah that's a lot of meds! At least it's something to keep you busy while waiting for transfer day!
@J1006 Glad DH will be there for transfer!

@J1006 I’m so happy your Dh will be with you on transfer day!
@tosh24 That’s awesome your lining sounds perfect to me!! Less than a week to transfer!!
@morganelizabeth123 Happy Transfer day!
@morganelizabeth123 good luck!!!!!
@ndz2018 the same thing bummed the he’ll out of me on Friday.... we had to sign the paperwork and say they could thaw them all until they got one that survived:( it sux to have to think about it
@alfieb-2 my clinic did reiterate it aloud... they don’t want ppl to say they didn’t know
im currently sitting here compiling my transfer day Netflix and chill list
You guys your transfers are so close! This is all happening!!

@alfieb-2, that's great that your numbers doubled.
I have an appointment tomorrow. Will keep you guys updated.
@tosh24, that clinic sounds very blunt! If it was already in the consent...why keep saying it! It's great you finally have a transfer date!

AFM, yesterday's monitoring was uneventful. Lining is growing a little slowly (not surprising for me), so going back on Wednesday for another check. Luckily my doctor will be there, so glad I'll have the chance to talk to her in person.

i started the prometrium vaginally today. They are just too much fun. I had trouble sleeping last night. I think it was partially anxiety and partially loud winds
