Ladies who have had showers already - did kids come to yours? I know a couple mama's coming to mine may be {we've opened it up and requested they let us know}
I would like to pick something up for kids to do, does a colouring book and crayons suffice? Ideally I wanna pick up some gender neutral ideas so kids can pick whatever. Is that enough, or should I grab something else?
@MissKittyDanger ~ We has about 5 kids at ours. My MIL made up little “gift baskets” for them to play with while they were there. They had bubbles in them, sidewalk chalk, and a couple other things I don’t remember.
@MissKittyDanger we had 2 kiddos at ours. One is 3.5, and she's used to hanging out with most of us so she just ran around and stole cookies. She also decorated some diapers for us. Her brother is 7 months old and the chillest baby ever, he pretty much just sat and watched everyone.
@BurlapandLace For mine there is no spot to go outside and play {party room in an apartment} My mum did mention her friend - who's helping with the shower - might do something, so I'll see what she's doing and suggest those
@bearmoons Confirmed kid coming seems pretty chill with hanging out. I'm hoping at least one other will come so they can chill together though
@MissKittyDanger how does it usually work i your circle & family? Only one person invited to my shower had a kid, the rest are like my cousins & aunts and their kids are teens ir adults. The one always manages to bring her daughter to stuff. It irks me bc she’s always the only kid and although she’s well behaved her mom always ask the day of (so you basically cannot say no) even when there was plenty of advance notice. And her husband (DH’s cousin) manages to do everything kid free. I hate couples like that.
@ffw0617 It's family and friends mixed shower. Most who have young kids are friends, but I preemptively asked on the event to let any of the hosts if there are young kids coming mostly for numbers
{fyi my H is doing something with some of the guys that kids can't really attend, so that's not an option}
Had a great shower on Saturday. My mom flew in from Missouri, which was nice. We did it at a wine bar in the village and it was adorable. The weather was incredible - mid 70's. Pics in the spoiler (they are giant!).
@LaceyBee522 be careful with the diapers that people wrote on. We did that for my SIL at her shower and one morning my nephew woke up with red all over his stomach and she was freaking out that he had a rash or something but it was from the diaper that someone had wrote on.

@LaceyBee522 if it makes you feel better we never had that happen with the diapers people wrote on at our shower for dd. Good idea to watch out though!!
I had a pretty amazing shower today. A handful of friends hosted it and about 35 ladies from my circle of family and friends showed up. It was such a special day, and I felt so loved. I can’t believe how much we ended up bringing home with us. Oh, and the cake, the cake, the cake!! It was amazing and a friend actually made the whale on top out of white chocolate. I’ve attached a couple of pics.
