AFM---Sorry I've been MIA the last couple weeks. I really tried to stay busy during the 2ww, and the progesterone is kicking my butt, and I've been going to sleep super early, so I haven't had my normal internet trolling time before bed lately.

Of the 8 they retrieved, 5 were mature. All 5 fertilized. 1 arrested on day 3. On day 5, we transferred 1 expanded blast.
The other 3 all arrested on day 6 before freeze, so no frosties.

I've become a POAS-aholic. My trigger continued to show up until 12dpt. Followed by all negatives.
I thought for sure on 7dpt that I was out and it didn't work.

Finally- 8dpt PM (last night) faint, but clearly positive.
Beta this morning= 7. Doctor was not optimistic at all. Of course it could be a slow start from a late implant, but chances are, that this will be a chemical, but I go back Thursday for Beta #2. I'm trying to remain optimistic, but I also know the odds are against me, so I just have to wait and see what happens.

Fingers crossed that all the rest of the ladies are doing well this month!

Morning ladies! I had my egg retrieval yesterday and we spent most of the rest of day on the couch watching season 2 of Jessica Jones. I was on Vicodin and nausea medication. They retrieved 18 eggs but we won’t know until this afternoon how many were fertilized. Suffice it to say that I am nervously waiting for the call.

Thanks, @prudence9-2! We are doing PGS testing and then freezing the embryos until mid-next year. My husband was diagnosed with CF early this year after we were trying for some months. Thankfully he’s asymptomatic except for the fertility issues but the health scare was enough to change our minds as to getting pregnant this year. We want to make sure we process all the new info about CF before bringing on the stresses (and joys) of raising kids.

All finally got my report back - I have 2 good girls, and 3 good grade boys. Only lost one to chromosomal abnormalities. FET set for April 18th woop.

@mcgeeva those are great numbers! Hopefully April 18th will be here before you know it! Do you know which embryos you'll be transferring?

AFM, the nurse just called with my second Beta results:

My beta rose from 141 to 267 in exactly 48 hours. That's a 90% increase (almost double). She said it looked good and I'll go for my third and final beta in exactly 1 week. By then it should be in the thousands.

DH asked me when we can stop holding our breaths. We're getting good news, but there still is more waiting and more tests, and there is still too much uncertainty and risk to be completely excited about this. I'm guessing once we have our first ultrasound and they confirm a heartbeat then we are in the clear. Does anyone else who has gone through this before remember when it felt real to them?

I would feel like you do. I think after to MC this past summer and having good numbers, until I get to that us I would have a hard time feeling excited. But I'm negative at this point about this stuff.

So im sure some wouldn't agree with me but I'm dying to have a baby girl. I love love boys - that's all I know but I am yearning so bad to have a mother daughter relationship. I didn't have a close relationship with my mother growing up or now and my MIL is a psycho so I am really praying for that opportunity. So transferring a girl and if neither girl makes it I will take a boy

@mcgeeva I saw your FET was scheduled but not your results - that’s amazing!! I don’t think think you can go wrong Re: girl vs. boy - you both will love him/her either way! I don’t know if you’ve thought about it but if you ultimately want a second child you may end up with one of each in the end anyway!!

cmarieb35 oh lord no! Well thankfully my doctor called this afternoon - 2 girls, 3 boys. Hahaha I could by no means handle twins. End of day we will handle what we are given but I have two boys (thanks to shady grove) so I can't fathom another two which is why today my doctor said we transfer one because I have a 60% at twins. No sir!

I asked them when I cam back if I was the only crazy person that would put themselves through this for a 3rd time. But honestly this is my first time every having coverage so it's made it easier to pull the trigger. I was still missing something!

@cmarieb35 so with my 1st After going to two doctors getting no where we ended up at SG and stims worked with iui first round. Went back a year later changed my stims drugs and worked again. Now being 5 years later and having two miscarriages last summer I wanted the embryos tested to hopefully avoid that heartache again. So here we are!

@mcgeeva - Yay on the report! Can't wait til your FET!!!

My beta #2 did go up = 11.8. So it went up by 62% giving me a double rate time of about 69 hours. Progesterone went up too. HCG is still incredibly low- and for now I'm stuck in limbo. This uncertainty shit really sucks! I'll go back Monday for Beta #3, and by then we should definitely know whether we should hang onto hope or if it'll definitely end. Although even if it goes up, there's still no guarantee that it'll stay that way, but for now, I'm hanging onto the little bit of hope I have.

@prudence9-2 thank you. I am going Saturday morning for retrieval. This is my second ivf cycle so we are going to batch and wait for the pgs/pgd testing. I am not sure when I’ll do the frozen transfer because the testing can take up to 4-6 weeks. I’m eager to find out and start the next steps but I know this all takes time.

Heard back from the doc this afternoon. Of the 18 eggs retrieved, 15 were mature and 11 fertilizer and are growing. I’ll get another update tomorrow!

@prudence9-2 my clinic gives updates on days 2, 3, 6 and 7. I got an update today and all 11 embryos are still growing (apparently with 2-5 cells)! We’re very excited with the news but totally realize that numbers will decrease on our next update on Monday.

AFM - updated my screen name since that was left over from the knot in 2012 and my maiden name, anyways i was posting under azetter1 before. I think last I posted was my 9 fertilized? Well one 4bb made it to fresh transfer and 2 to freeze. All the rest were slow growing but stalled by day 6. Pretty disappointing for all the starting numbers being good and the stress we put on our body not to mention finances for this and only getting 3 chances for success is a downer.

Anyways my beta is monday. They tested my progesterone on the 21 and it was 16, which my md said was low so they upped my dose. I’m on the shots. So all said and done I don’t feel positive that we’ll get the outcome we want, but we’ll see monday! At least if it is negative I can stop the dang shots! Although I’ll happily put up with it if its good. Blah!

@prudence9-2 thank you!! I will be doing pgs/pgd testing so I’ll be soon doing a frozen transfer. I will wait to see how many I end up with end of the week and see what my dr says. I am batching my cycles to save money and get the best results. Are you doing fresh transfer?

@ed2018 my original plan was to do pgs and freeze but since I wasn’t responding well this time (they think because I was in BCP it might have suppressed my ovaries) I ended up doing a day-3 last Sunday...

stephanienj - Hey there! I am new to this so I apologize if this isn't the correct way to respond. I am kind of in the same boat as you were when you posted on the 20th, and I was curious what your outcome was? My first Beta was 13.81, which they told me was a little low, but that can happen with frozen transfers. I was just wondering if yours ended up increasing. I am currently waiting for the results of my second test so I'm a little nervous!

I just got the update for day 5 and I'm feeling somewhat discouraged. I'm not sure what is normal at this stage but the numbers don't sound great. Of the 11, one is ready to be frozen. Another 3 are about to go into the blastocyst stage. Six are are the stage prior to blastocyst and one is no longer growing. I am concerned because we are doing PGS testing and I'm guessing the numbers will dwindle more from there. The doctor told me that they will monitor the embryos until day 7 and that just seems like too little time to have the 6 that are not yet at blastocyst to actually grow enough to be frozen. I'm not sure how it all works and just feel disappointed and nervous. Any input on the process or how likely it is for those 6 that are slower to make it would be helpful.

@lizy181 I don’t have experience with growing embryos to day 7. But I’ve seen women on this board that had their embryos make it to day 7.

What I can tell you about day 6 embryos is that I had higher percent of PGS normal in day 6 than day 5!!!

In my first IVF 2 out of 6 of day 5 were normal. And 2 out of 2 of day 6 were normal!

Hi! I’m new here but not new to IVF.
i have premature ovarian failure (POF) and my husband has no fertility issues. We are using Donor Eggs.
We have done an ERA which determined I was late receptive so my progesterone is started earlier now to correct.
I have one BFN cycle, followed by one cancelled cycle (mucus in uterus), followed by a chemical pregnancy. And on Thursday, I’ll be transferring my last embryo. Because I can’t have a smooth ride, at my mid-point checkup, my estradiol level was low. This has never been the case before so I don’t know why it is now. My lining was almost 9, but estradiol at 150. It was 1200 at the same time last cycle. Any ideas?

@lizy181 we didn’t do psg, but my fertilized went from 9 to 2 on day five with the rest “growing” so they watched them for another day and then there was 1 of the slow growers that reached a freezable size by the following day. So we put 1 in, and froze two. Sorry about your results. I was disappointed in mine as well.

I just got the call that I’m a BFN this cycle, so I have two more chances. I figure though since one was a slow grower and I know you loose some in thaw, I am not optimistic.
