@lizy181 hang in there. I had some very similar side effects to yours. Everyday it was something new but oddly enough after around 7 days of stims I started to feel better, just bloating. What I did was keep the bigger picture in mind at all times and just kept moving forward!

@prudence9-2 Try to think quality and not quantity. I know it’s hard but that’s what I’m trying to do. I only have 12 follicles, so I’m already expecting low numbers...and I just keep saying to myself “it only takes one”

As for me, I made it through 11 days of stims and I trigger tonight for a Sunday ER. I’m so terrified of failure but I’m trying to stay positive and keep my mind busy. I keep thinking they aren’t going to get any eggs. I’ll be triggering alone tonight since my DH is working...yay for me, lol

i also had 12 follicles (at baseline). 10 retrieved and now only 6 fertilized.

Hi all.  Sorry I've been MIA, its been a long week.  I started off the week overly optimistic.  AF showed up on 3/13 so I called my RE to book my day 3 appointment to check for cysts and work out the calendar for a FET. I got a call moving up the time for my appointment because they wanted time to do the ultrasound and "discuss" the results of the PGS. Right there I knew something was wrong. We went in on 3/15 and only 1 of the 5 embryos was normal and I have a cyst on my left ovary. After consulting with my RE, with my age going up and my reserve going down, I think we are doing a 3rd stim cycle.  After 2 cycles, I have 4 normal embryos. Because of the cyst I'm back on BC for 18 days and start stims in 23 instead of starting stims today. I guess I'm just really frustrated.

@prudence9-2  I know it’s tough when you get that news. Fingers crossed for you!

@TruStory good luck with trigger shot and retrieval in Sunday.  I did the trigger myself the first round of ivf and had to keep checking that I put the shot in the x they marked for me. Sending you positive vibes.

@lizy181 hopefully these boards make you feel better. I felt alone my first round because none of my friends went thru the process and due to my work schedule I couldn’t go to any of the support groups they had at my dr office. I had horrible headaches here and there  when I started.  I also felt sad and upset out of the blue Plus bloating , some weight gam , and all that fun stuff.

Quick question ladies...I just finished my trigger shot and it really hurts at the injection site. Is this normal for Pregnyl? I’ve never used this for any of my IUI cycles

Thank you all for the kind replies! I am feeling better today and just relieved that I can share my experiences with other women. My egg retrieval is tentatively scheduled for next Wednesday/Thursday. If all goes well we’ll be doing PGS testing and the plan is to implant next year.

The site of the trigger shot is still sore but over all I’m ok. I spent the day tidying up and preparing to stay in bed or on the couch for Sunday and possible Monday(just in case)I’m really bloated today but I’m ready to go in the morning! Excited but also a little nervous. Hope everyone is having a happy St Patrick’s Day.

Thanks @DecemberDoll27 this is such a tough process. And being completely alone in it (as I’m single) makes this board extra special for me. 

I also hope this is it. This is my last chance in having a baby in 2018!!! I hope it will work out. 1 our of the 5 gotta be normal and strong enough to stay for 9 months!

Good news!!! By the time I got there all 6 were good!!! So I had two options, wait for day 5 or transfer all 6 now. And the doctor confirmed what I suspected, that embryos do better inside than outside!!! So we transferred all 6!!! It was so cool seeing them all float in the tube. Also the grading of all 6 was excellent. They mostly got grade 1 for symmetry and fragments.

@DecemberDoll27 My clinic is always very late with betas. Usually 12 or 14 from day 5. But now they scheduled it in 12 days. So it’s like 10 days after day 5. I think maybe the nurse that told me when didn’t know it’s a day 3 transfer. And I wasn’t going to correct her

@prudence9-2, good luck!  I hope everything turns out well!

I am triggering tonight and retrieval is scheduled for 3/21.  I am a little disappointed by my follicle count today at ultrasound, but I recognize that I am being foolish.  For my first ultrasound, I had around 20 follicles and that number increased to about 25-26 over the course of the next two ultrasounds.  I now have between 13-15 follicles that are mature and ready to retrieve, but a few are pretty large and the nurse seems to think that those are likely empty (apparently too much growth is also a bad thing).  Regardless, I am still excited to hopefully make some embryos this week!

lizy181  take Tylenol as often as is safe if you need to. Know that IVF affects people in different ways and some are more sensitive. Take your symptoms seriously and nurture yourself because other people may not be as understanding as you need.

AFM my retrieval was on Sunday. I had 11 eggs retrieved of which 9 were mature. As of yesterday 6 fertilized via ICSI. 
I was expecting my count to be low because my follicle count was low but I’m still a little bummed. I’m just praying some make it to Day 5 since we are doing PGS testing!

@TruStory sorry to hear you had lower the number you expected. Same happened to me this cycle

I hope some of the 6 will make it to day 5. Can I ask how old are you?

@prudence9-2 I am 36, but I have stage 4 endometriosis, and large endometriomas on each ovary, which are not only covering half of my ovary so that it does not respond, but are also in the way during the ER. I believe there were 2 more follicles they just couldn't get too.

At 36 you have better chances for normals. I believe over 60% are normal at 36. (For me, it’s less than 20% normals )

I just got my Beta results back:

For 8dp5dt my Beta is 141!
The nurse said that was really good, especially for how early they test.
I go back in 2 days (10dp5dt) to see if it doubles.  FX
