Re: March Randoms

  • I think a MyFitnessPal group is a great idea!
@megpeg DH with a key to gym sounds great! I probably projected my own issues in my last post - My DH works for a university and we both get free membership in the campus fitness center. Which is awesome! It's a nice facility. But also, you know, working out with 20 year olds. The dude-bros turn out to be less intimidating that the female athletes in their amazing workout shorts. hahahahaha I try to see that as motivation... ;)

  • @fatstagnation you were right on on how I feel going to the gym. I would be out of breath and embarrassed and want to quit pretty quick if I went when other people were there.

  • I'm in for a myfitnesspal group!! I started this pregnancy pretty overweight and didn't really gain while pregnant so I'm actually doing pretty good... for now. I have about 50lbs more I could lose though. A group might keep me motivated.

  • I'll make a my fitness pal group and start a new thread. :D

Feel like things have been pretty dead around here. I suppose it is because most moms have moved over to facebook? My due date is Sunday and even though today is 3/15, I feel like one of the last ones left lol. Who is still awaiting their LO's arrival??

  • @GG620 we're due date twins! Still pregnant here too, and I have a feeling I'll go past Sunday...
  • @GG620 me too. Due date is 3/25 but since LO is still breach we have a c-section scheduled for 3/23.

  • @GG620 I'm not due til 3/26 and with this being my first, there's a possibility I'll go over. I'll probably be the last one lol
  • I’m definitely still here and waiting. Due date of 3/30!! Ugh. And even though this is my third, both of my other two were overdue so I could truly roll into April. It’s lonely still being one of the few waiting and knowing it could be a while.
  • Congratulations, @baybeesunflower!! Glad you're doing well!

    Thank you!  :)
  • Yay @baybeesunflower! So glad you’re doing well! Looking forward to the birth story when you get settled in. Thank goodness he didn’t stay in any longer! He was a big pup!
  • @baybeesunflower he is so cute! Congratulations!

  • Congrats @baybeesunflower!!

@GG620 My due date is 3/18 as well. I have an induction scheduled for 3/21. I agreed to the induction since I am 36(AMA) and have hydramnios. Having something on the books does provide some relief......

@baybeesunflowerahhh congrats!! So adorable! Can't wait to read your birth story.

Glad a bunch of us are still hanging on ha! I had a membrane sweep yesterday and lost my mucus plug today, yaayy. Fingers crossed labor starts shortly. They think baby is on the larger side (but not too large) so M/W doesn't want me going too far past my due date. As a FTM, I wasn't anxious about labor until the last few days. I think every minute makes me a little more nervous because i want it to happen so badly now, if that makes any sense ha

  • I'm due 03/26 but actually hoping he comes late just to try getting as much out of cold/flu season as possible (not like a few days really make a difference though). I also just came down with a cold/cough this week (sucks!) so I really would like to be over that by the time he comes. Worried about having a newborn get sick, although since we have a 2.5 year old in daycare I'm sure that's inevitable. I'm having a c-section (scheduled it late on purpose as I'm paranoid about having him come out earlier than he would have normally) so I REALLY hope/need this cough gone by then. Scared to have a cough with a fresh belly incision. :worried:
  • So many awesome birth announcements.  Congratulations, ladies!  I can't wait to read the birth stories.
  • @GG620, I’m still holding on too. Due date is 3/24. Dr said at appointment on Tuesday that they wouldn’t let me go too far past my due date but still no end in sight. They couldn’t do my membranes this week because her head isn’t anyway near engaged. I’ll know more at next weeks appointment. Not so secretly hoping they just do the induction that day- my brother and his wife are coming into town the 23rd (haven’t seen him in 1.5 years) so really don’t wanna be massively pregnant for that visit.

  • @baybeesunflower - I had a friend who had her baby last month. He was a week overdue and he was a flat 11 pounds...and she went med-free. Ouch! She said she was soooo glad she didn’t know he was going to be that big until it was all over.
  • @GG620 I’m still around too...due March 19, Monday....

  • Coworkers are he worst.  Sometimes it’s best not to tell people due date because they get so annoying

@slr1229 you are so right! I should've told everyone I was due in April.

Edit because TB chopped off half my post.

Oh my goodness!! I was glad to not know the size even though deep down I had a feeling he was at least 10lbs.
  • @slr1229, with my first my OBGYN suggested we not say the exact estimated due date when asked, instead just say end of the month (was due mid-month). People are relentless in insisting to know an exact date though! And I don't understand why. I'd say end of month and they'd ask again asking for a specific date. As if that specific date actually meant something. This time around I still avoid saying the exact date (mostly because as we all know it's not a magical date), but will give it if someone specifically asks.
  • @baybeesunflower congratulations! He’s perfect!
  • OMG. WTF. My MIL. I feel so bad for DH.
So, she's afraid to fly. Last year she visited us from Italy but DH was able to arrange two conference in Europe so he could pick her up and bring her home. It cost us money but she flew with him both times and we were hoping she could manage on her own this year. DH and she have been discussing dates for her to visit for months.
Then a few weeks ago it was," wait, you're not coming here to get me and bring me home?"
Me, in my head: yeah, we need your help. so DH is gonna leave me home alone with a new baby for 2-3 days, twice, to fly with you. Um...
Next it was pouting because I put my foot down and said 3-4 weeks max. Then it was back to "I haven't slept in three days because I'm so freaked out about flying on my own."
I understand anxiety and fear of flying are real things. I'm not judging. I have offered to bring baby there instead, maybe for the holidays. (which would be a sacrifice. Of course I selfishly want baby's first Christmas to be with my family!)

So now DH's friends have stepped up. One, Dario, is flying back from Italy in late April and offered to bring MIL here with him. Another friend, Livio, is going to Italy mid-May and offered to bring her back.  She has met both of them. DH called her this morning and she made excuses (that don't even make sense) why that timing wouldn't work for her. He was so upset when he got off the phone. He was just like "I"m done with these people. My family sucks.  :(

  • Thanks for letting me rant everyone.
@sarahhedger7 yeah, I feel like she's being kinda childish. For the most part I'm staying out of it. It just pisses me off cause I could hear in DH's voice that he's more hurt than he's admitting. Poor guy.

  • @fatstagnation it is absolutely the worst when the ILs end up hurting MH. I’m sorry you are having to deal with that, especially now. Mostly, I’m sorry for YH.
  • @fatstagnation wow that's really frustrating about your MIL! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that, and I'm sorry your husband's hurting. :(
