Very random, but I am at the gym. Riding slowly on the bike and it feels so good. Like very slow. About to go in the sauna. I've been waiting for this.
I had a nightmare last night that my baby never wanted me and would only let my stepmom hold him and he refused to nurse. Eek! 2 more weeks ish.. I just need him here already! There's nothing left for me to do but stress out.
I am so ready for tomorrow morning! My kids are driving me crazy over wanting baby to be here sand my husband is no better. Like really guys the stinker lives in my body so I think you aren't allowed to complain!
Just wanted to say how thankful I am for you ladies being there through this entire first pregnancy. I don't know what I would do without you guys. This is such a great place for support and encouragement.
I am going through the I lost 23 pounds and am freezing constantly stage. I went to take DS to school yesterday and my teeth were chattering I was so cold. I forgot this happens. The upside is I had only gained 5 pounds so I am down 18 from when I got pregnant.
@megpeg I didn’t gain much either so I’m below my prepregnancy weight! Woohoo! And I’m back and forth with the temperature. I go from sweating to shivering and back. Ugh lol
Ugh, you all are lucky being under weight. I actually have 19 pounds to lose and that surprises the crap out of me. I for sure thought I would have done better working out throughout. Oh well, I am giving my boobs about 10 pounds.
How should I get the bottles and pacifiers ready for their first use? Do I have to boil them for 5 minutes or can I just use the steam sterilizer that I got? Should I wash them before sterilizing?
2 of my friends at my shower said they gain 55 pounds in each of their pregnancies!!! I was like why did you do that? (I kept my mouth shut - no judging.) But I've gained about 15 pounds and am hoping the breastfeeding will put me under pre-pg weight. @DDRRT1982 - my boobs are so big! That's got to be more than 5 pounds!
@fatstagnation I've gained 40! It's my first pregnancy and I had no idea weight would just stick like this. I literally changed nothing in my diet at all and the pounds just kept adding up.
All you guys talking about how little weight you've gained has me thoroughly depressed. I just hit the 40lb mark this morning and not feeling so great about it. I'm trying not to put too much thought into the number on the scale because I've still been exercising regularly and I really feel like it's all been in my belly, but it still sucks!
@sarahhedger7 I washed and sterilized my bottles to get them ready for their first use. Pretty sure boiling or steam sterilizing is fine. I boiled only because I didn't have a steam sterilizer.
@sarahhedger7@stlbuckeye132 I'm with you ladies! I gained 46 pounds - and Nora came a month early! I was getting my 10,000 steps a day and doing yoga regularly so I'm trying not to beat myself up about it - at the end of the day, all that didn't gross me out was carbs, and that was the problem. It feels good to be working to lose weight right now - it reminds me my body is still mine.
@sarahhedger7 - I washed them in hot soapy water and then used the steam sterilizer to sterilize them. You could boil them but wouldn’t need to both steam and boil because they both do the same thing!
I actually gained 36 pounds, which is amazing considering I usually gain 40 to 50lbs in my pregnancy. The problem this time is I didn't really have water weight gain and so this 19 extra is all me. Like some of you, I gain the moment hcg enters my system regardless of diet and exercise. I am not worried though. It will all come off eventually.
@megpeg oh I didn't take anything anyone said as braggy - no worries! It's great that you didn't gain much and have already lost a lot of weight! All of our bodies are different, so of course we'll all gain/lose pregnancy weight differently too!
oh no, I meant it the other way around - I feel like I've been getting the side eye from people about not gaining enough! It's nice to hear from others who are similar. I certainly can't "take any credit". I think I lost 5 in the first trimester from being permanently nauseous.
Yeah I was definitely overweight prepregnancy and am still technically overweight. I’m hoping to actually lose more. After I stopped breastfeeding my son all my weight came back and wouldn’t leave.
@BrittnieMariee I have a long way to go before I get to a healthier weight. I haven’t done a lot for myself the last couple years and just kept gaining. I need to put some of my focus back on myself. DH wants me to start going to CrossFit with him when I get the ok, I am kind of scared.
@megpeg I'm not a fitness expert, but I'd be scared too going strait to crossfit, but maybe it's worth a try. Before pg I was doing some online HIIT workouts at home that helped me build strength and endurance. I liked the videos from Fitness Blender - they have a lot of free stuff on YouTube and their website. And they use minimal to no equipment.
@fatstagnation the only redeeming thing is that DH has keys to the gym and I wouldn’t have to go in a class necessarily. He could take me and get me started and then I can join classes when I feel up to it.
@megpeg I’ve definitely neglected myself the past few years. I could stand to lose at least 30 lbs. I’m hoping to focus on myself a bit more. Especially since I’m at such a high risk of getting type 2 diabetes.
I haven't mastered much about the world of FitBit, but I wonder if those of us who use it could create a group on there to challenge and cheer for each other. I'll look into it!
@BrittnieMariee I am at high risk too and the past year or so I have started feeling like a bystander when DH and the kids are doing things because I wasn’t fit enough or confident enough to join in. I don’t want to be that person anymore. I really need to lose about 50lbs.
@megpeg I need to lose about 40 lbs, so you are not alone. That would be the 40 lbs I gained while pregnant with my first and never lost.
@ashtuesday MH got me an Apple Watch a couple weeks ago and it has definitely helped me move around more. You can also do challenges and make groups on MyFitnessPal if we wanted to do one for anyone who wanted to join?
Funny story, let's see if I can articulate this well enough that you guys might relate or find humor. Anyways, my kids have been having a hard time eating my dinners lately, because with the end of pregnancy and first few weeks with Sam we have eaten out more than normal. My normal food is pretty healthy and doesn't appeal to toddlers like restaurant food. We are trying to get them back in the habit of healthier eating, but they have been resisting and end up hungry and getting snacks. Tonight my husband put his foot down and told them no snacks. Later on, I ended up walking into my daughter negotiating for a yogurt and then I hear "Dad, we have organic yogurt. It's healthy!". My husband didn't budge and told her "You know what else is healthy? Chicken and green beans!". I guess I need to have a convo about actually nutrition and let her know that just because it's organic doesn't make it the best choice for your body.
@DDRRT1982 we totally did the same thing with eating out and every day my 4 year old has to fight with me because she wants a burger from somewhere. I tell her that’s not good for us and we have better choices at home and she is mad for a while.
I’m up about 27 lbs this time. And up 70 lbs since before getting pregnant with my ds. Nursing made me gain a lot of weight then.... im hoping to be luckier this time. But I may need to give up earlier if not, because I can’t live with myself this way, and it ends up effecting my life in all other aspects.
Me too, @GG620 . I just can't get comfortable no matter what I do. I guess my body is just trying to prepare me for the upcoming sleepless nights wth LO.
@GG620 and @sarahhedger7 , same here. Noooo sleeping. Except inconvenient times like when I’m sitting on the couch at 4 in the afternoon trying to pay attention to my kids. Ugh.
