I went into the hospital last night at 12:30. I was having contractions for 2 hours that were getting pretty strong every 3-4 minutes. I got hooked up to monitors and checked(still 3 cm) and then all hell broke loose in the department and I ended up laying there for over 2 hours because they had emergency c-sections. Finally the nurse came back because I was dying rob pee and my back hurt. We walked for maybe an hour and then went back to get checked and nothing happened- still 3cm and baby’s head wasn’t engaged- but I was/am still contracting so we got sent home at 4:00. I was exhausted and think my body just wasn’t ready, maybe later.
@megpeg Ugh... such a long night for you! If your contractions continue, I hope they become more productive for you. In the meantime, try to get some rest! (hugs).
I'm scheduled for a c-section next Wednesday, so my doctors never do cervical checks on me. I'm pretty sure I've been having contractions (though pretty inconsistently), so I'm not sure if I should ask about it during my NST tomorrow. I've been having intense pressure and pain down low and each time I mention it, I'm just told that "the baby is getting into position" - because he doesn't now he's being delivered by c-section.
@megpeg I hope it's soon. Contractions with no progression suck. I read that STM and more babies stay higher and Samantha was high right until delivery. Keep moving after you get some rest and I bet you will be holding your baby soon.
@ladybugsamom I'd mention it. I think always safe than sorry.
@DDRRT1982 DD was high until I delivered too and they said my bag of waters is bulging so baby might not be able to engage. I was kind of irritated when in the direction to go home she said to come in if contractions were every four minutes and they still were. I asked how to know and she just said things would feel “different.” I am going to end up having this baby at home because I don’t know...
Headaches, lightheadedness (blood pressure is fine a little low actually), nauseous, cramps, back aches, achin thighs, and a funny taste in my mouth. I feel like I'm back in the 1st trimester definitely ready for baby to be here!
I was sent to labor and delivery after my appointment Tuesday because my blood pressure was high. They monitored it for 2 hours and it was totally fine, but I was having contractions every 5 minutes, so they kept me for another 2 hours to monitor the contractions and see if I progressed any. After 4 hours I was still only dilated to a 2 and was sent home. I’ve been having contractions since Tuesday, but this morning they seem a little more intense. I’m hoping they progress into labor! These contractions that aren’t doing anything are horrible! Oh and I think I lost my mucus plug this morning. Hoping that’s a good sign. I really wish my water would break, then they’d have to admit me. My induction is scheduled for Monday morning!!!
I still have a good 4 weeks to go. Every time I take a step or roll over my pelvis makes an audible clicking noise that H can hear if he's next to me. Good times.
baby is breech at 36+4. I've been assigned exercises - supposed to get on all fours then lower chest to ground and keep hips up for 15 min, 4x per day. It's harder than it sounds and also heartburn is already a problem so now I have to carefully schedule around eating. stressssss
Tomorrow is my due date and was still 3cm today (been since 36 wks) and zero signs it’s happening soon. First kiddo was 3 days late so we’ll see, if nothing happens by Monday I’ll schedule induction.
Lack of appetite, nausea, and fighting the urge to cry over the fact that my OB and husband both want me to schedule an induction next week. Nothing wrong with being induced, but I really just want to experience labor unassisted by drugs once! But my doctor is adamant about having pitocin on hand for after since I almost had to have a transfusion with my last delivery.
I had a weekly u/s and MW appt this a.m. and got sent to L&D bc my BP was elevated and I had trace protein in my urine. LO checked out fine and I got my BP checked until they got lab work back. I was sent home for a 24 hour urine catch and put on bed rest, but the MW said I could still work from home which is fine by me bc I have such limited time off and I want to use it when LO is actually here. When I go turn my urine catch in, I will get monitored again while they get lab results back. MW said I will probably go 2 more weeks on bed rest then deliver late in my 38th week.
@fatstagnation will definitely be thinking of you. Hope you can get LO to flip! I know you will both be fine either way.
I had 'bloody show'/lost my mucus plug on Wednesday night, then had horrible cramping and lower back pain through the night into the morning yesterday. I think the two were related, and probably caused by dilation check my doctor did at the 36 week checkup that day. But hopeful this means baby is coming in next two weeks.
38w3d. I was 4 cm 90% at my appt Wednesday. Last week I was 3 cm 50%. So all of these contractions are doing something but I'm miserable as hell. I was never dilated with my first two and didn't have contractions before I was in the hospital. So this is new territory. Lots of bloody show, back pain, cramping...I just can't get to anything consistent enough to be in active labor. We have an induction scheduled for March 10 but I honestly don't know how I'm still pregnant now let alone still deal with this 8 more days.
SO many feelings- I just had an emotional breakdown. I am so ready for this baby to be here. I am sure my kids think I have lost it and DH knew it was coming. Shouldn’t have watched What to Expect When You’re Expecting. 1/2 and hour of crying later I am going to try to get things back together.
@DDRRT1982 I have this happen every time. DD and I are now watching Maleficent and snuggling in my bed. Both of my other kids were 5 days early so hopefully tomorrow will be the day. I hope so because it took me half an hour to find clothes that fit over my belly this morning to go to DSs basketball game.
@megpeg I'm out of clothes too! Down to 1 pair of yoga pants all t-shirts are too tight to wear but it's all I have so I wear them in public but at home I'm in hubbys t-shirts and pantsless!!
Went on so many walks today. Come on kid. No symptoms now- feel great and 1 day past due date! I wasn’t going to go into work Monday but now idk what to do bc I thought okay Thursday I’ll schedule induction but then I’d be missing 3 days unless something happens before then
@LeahS927 - I’m there too. Although I went with my side of the family to a Lebanese restaurant tonight and there’s so much garlic in that food. My backend is threatening quite the show later.
Woken up at 2am the past two nights with what feels like bad period cramps. No regular timing or much ebbing and flowing, so I think it's just cramping, but ugh. These last weeks are long!
@megpeg and @bravoandprosecco, I feel you on the clothes- yesterday I had no shame and went out in a T-shirt and PJ pants to clean out the cars. At least an inch of belly showed. I didn’t care cuz I didn’t have the energy to switch to maternity wear (which the pants are getting tight). Work is getting interesting because all my maternity pants want to roll back down the belly now and get bunched up underneath it. Think I’m gonna talk to doctor tomorrow about a note so I can wear flip flops or tennis shoes. My more professional office shoes barely fit my swollen feet.
37 weeks today. Just woke up after sleeping like 10 hours, took a shower, and now my energy is zapped. I know fatigue is normal in the third trimester, but is it supposed to be this bad? Ugh.
@gh515 I've been up half the night too the past few nights with period like cramps and a horrible backache also arent timable or anything they are awful though! The only thing that seems to help is a bath.
@sarahhedger7 I'm 39 weeks and even after a good night's sleep, I still woke up exhausted. I had breakfast and then had to go immediately to the couch to lie up. It's frustrating. I tell myself my body is just using up all my reserves for some final baby growth spurts.
@maelily15 , @megpeg and @bravoandprosecco, me too. It's ridiculous what I wear around the house! Poor DH has to look at this mess LOL. And now my knees and elbows feel bruised from all the upside down time trying to flip this baby. This also does not help the heartburn. ugh. I looked up the Miles circuit and tried some of it, but all that asymmetry stuff is extremely painful with my PGP. So... fun times. I think LO just needs more time.
Omg, I feel ya all on the clothing. I'm wearing my husband's stuff most of the time and the clothes I can wear to work are on a repeating cycle of 3 outfits. Ugh.
39 + 4 days. I swear my belly looks smaller than 2 weeks ago. I'm assuming its because he dropped. Belly gets hard...braxton hicks...and shaped so odd. Poor little baby is probably trying to figure out how make his grand entrance.

Good luck to everyone!!! So much activity.
I'm still in the land of heartburn, pelvic pain, and braxton hicks. Oh and have I mentioned heartburn? ugh
