Water broke around 3pm on 3/9. 30 minutes after I finished my last day of work. I'm in labor on pitocin to try and get these contractions closer together. They are very strong feeling! Hoping baby comes today 3/10!
I’m past due date now ... 40+2 so hoping it’s any time now. My midwives don’t induce until 42 weeks and they said they’ll give me the option of getting my membranes swept at 41 weeks if I still haven’t gone by next Thursday.

39 weeks and been having a lot of cramping and discomfort the last 2 days and keep getting so excited, but then I go to sleep and wake up with nada. Ahhh come on baby ☺
Fun new symptom- thought I was leaking ambiotic fluid very slowly because I constantly was feeling swamp crotchy. And my contractions were stronger yesterday and this morning. Cue trip to L&D and turns out not only am I not leaking, but the wetness is just cervical leakage and probably won’t subside until labor begins (of which he doesn’t expect soon).
I believe the way he phrased it was that my cervix is softening so the wetness is just cervical mucuous. But definitely coming from the cervix and not the sac. He said he could “bounce the baby up and down like a basketball” so my bags still full.
This might sound hella weird, but I don't feel like I have had any signs of labor other than mad pressure down below. I'm 38 weeks and haven't had any BH or regular contractions that I am aware of. With DD I didn't feel any contractions til my water broke in the hospital after being induced. Not sure if it's good, bad or indifferent, but for now I'm just chillin til he decides he's ready to come I suppose.

@amylonghorn@sarahhedger7 I thought the same thing at 38w, I felt like I had more signs of labor at 35weeks, but then 39 weeks hit and baby was born so you never know!
@sarahhedger8 and @amylonghorn I'm having many clear and present symptoms (at just about 38 weeks now), but they can all mean that baby is hours away... or a couple weeks away. I think this wait is anxiety inducing no matter what... and will probably also have a late baby after all of this! You have my empathy!
@amylonghorn and @sarahhedger7 I am 39 +1 and feel I have zero signs. No mucus plug loss or bloody show, no contractions, no water breaking. Just pressure and feeling heavy. I know this all truly means nothing and baby will come when she is ready, but i am so anxious and just ready to meet her. My next appt is Wednesday and yet feels worlds away.
39+1 here. All I’m feeling is a ton of pressure and some mild contractions. But baby seems to be really comfy in there with no real labor in sight. I wish I’d just know a date......
Just to give you ladies some hope I only thought I was having mild contractions or none when I went in for my NST but got admitted because they were pretty strong. Your body builds up tolerance to the pain.
@GG620 I was having NSTs weekly because of GD. I had been checked 2 days before and was at a four and 80% and they checked at my NST and I was 5 and 100% effaced. My contractions just felt like my belly was tightening up- came around from my back and then into my belly. I could feel them at times but wasn’t really having to breath through them.
@megpeg that’s my biggest fear! That I won’t know what the real deal is cuz In general I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I was open 2 and 50% effaced Friday. I go back this Friday for a NST and to be checked again...
@GG620, from what I understand, you'd have a NST if past due. Or, would have it earlier or more frequently if considered high risk or other reasons to be watched more closely (like if your due date is after you'll be 35 years old).
I'm an emotional wreck lately! angry/crying/angry/crying/angry/crying UGH anyone else have this in their last few weeks? I've been *fairly* stable most of this pg but now I'm a mess.
@fatstagnation I'm 39+3 today, and just in the last week or so EVERYTHING has been annoying me so, so much. I pretty much just try to hide in my office all day because I just cannot deal with my coworkers right now. Also randomly crying to MH about how this baby is never going to be born. I feel you on the wacky end-of-pregnancy hormones!
@fatstagnation, me too! Randomly crying and having mood swings like crazy. I threw some serious shade at a few clients the last couple days- one had called me literally 30 times in 6 hours (I can’t answer the phone while I have another client in my office for privacy reasons and we were very busy with walk ins). My coworkers laugh about it because I’m normally one of the most patient people but my tolerance for anything not completely normal is so thin lately.
@maelily15 I was just about to post something similar. I have zero patience anymore and everything is irritating the crap out of me. I'm just so done. My due date is still a week and 5 days away and I want to go into labor like right now. Ugh.
I'm grateful I don't work with the public. You ladies are champs! It doesn't help that I've been getting low blood sugar. I guess I'm not eating enough, because I get heartburn just looking at food. Not sure. I'm trying to focus on protein. And the pelvic girdle pain is unbelievable right now. I can barely put weight on my right leg without it feeling like my hip is going to give out. Which also makes me crabby cause I'm a very independent person and now I'm stuck just sitting here wondering what I'm *able* to do.
But, trying to stay positive - we'll have our precious baby in a matter of days!!!
I got put on bed rest with no work from home yesterday...I had been working from home on bed rest for 2 weeks due to elevated BP but yesterday the midwife said no more work. Chillin til LO decides to make his arrival. Still no real labor symptoms so far besides mad pressure down below. 9 days til my due date...
Literally had the same headache on and off for 10 days now. I'll take Tylenol and it will go away, only to come right back. Right side of upper neck all the way up the right side of my head. I mentioned it to my doctor at my last appointment (at that point, it had been a 7 day headache) and she completely brushed it off because I didn't have high blood pressure or vision changes. But this can't be normal.. can it??? I'm 38+5 right now.
@sarahhedger7 - that doesn’t sound like something to brush off. Unless you can trace along your neck and shoulder muscles to feel that it’s obviously just tension headaches from muscles being strained at the end here. I get headaches quite a bit right now but I can feel it’s connected to my neck.
My current least favorite symptom - nausea. I’ve been super nauseous for the last couple hours. That’s happened a couple times in the last week or so.
@sarahhedger7 - I would soooo be okay with that. I kept saying I wanted to wait until it warmed up a bit outside but the forecast keeps showing more cold days. And it’s snowing today. Wahhhh! Ohio weather is cruel.
@StephBrim24 I'm in Cincinnati so I know exactly what you mean lol. By the way, THANK YOU for pointing out that it's neck pain causing my headache. I tried a heating pad on my neck instead of an ice pack on my head like I had been doing, and it HELPED! My headache is gone!! It must be the way I'm sleeping on my side that's twisting my neck weird.

Also, is an NST routine? My doc has never checked me for dilation, or a growth scan or NST, anything. Wondering if I should request anything tomorrow.
