@pourmeamocktail maybe putting your husband in time out would be the most effective! Like for reals. Give him a stern taking to, have him act remorseful and then go sadly sit in time out. Then come out and be gentle with puppy. Provide a good example to mimic?
@pourmeamocktail you may already be doing this but we found success with putting a term on it that we always use consistently (and we apply it to pets and humans): we always tell him to use “gentle hands”. And if he needs to be reminded, then we will demonstrate and/or pull his hand away and guide him to pet the animals softly with an open palm, no fur grabbing, no tail grabbing. He’s finally out of the hitting stage but we’d use “gentle hands” for that too and ask him to apologize if he hit us purposely.

I’ve done my good wife deed for the year and set up a surprise guys night tomorrow for my husbands birthday (mainly bc between fatigue and other symptoms, I am so much fun to be around). Trying to get them coordinated was like herding feral cats. Now I’m ready for a nap. Too bad for my all day meetings.
@SkilledSailor perks of my job...but with the good there is bad. In order for me to get 7 days off I work 3-10 hour days and 4-12 hour days (7 days) straight....I’m exhausted when I get home.
@spottedginger - that is so sweet of you to do, I hope your H appreciates it!
We had a great visit to NY over the weekend. My mom had a tech ultrasound me at her office which was AWESOME. We basically watched baby dance around for 20 minutes, and I even got to take a video of it. It looked like a real baby already with arms and legs and it was moving around sooo much. It's probably a good thing I don't live there, because I'd be stopping in every week wanting to take a look.

How do people feel about the HDBD thread? I know we’ve had a few of them but not a ton of participation. I don’t mind starting it, but it seems like we have more members who are reserved about sharing pictures than not. Thoughts?
I'll share more on HDBD when there's actually something to share @nlc8424. I mean this bloat is cute and all, but...no, not it actually isn't. And it looks the same week to week.
@Patience7150 I don’t necessarily feel too bloated at this point (11+3), but I’m bumping out with an inability to suck it in haha. I’ll continue to start the thread as long as there’s interest!
I'm totally all for it, it just makes me sad that Wednesdays I'm not at home until 7 pm, and my nanny house has no mirrors big enough.

@nlc8424 I'm definitely in the hesitant camp but the way I look at it, if you like the thread, you should start it and whoever participates participates.
@adirat FWIW I never posted any of my bump pictures to Facebook or my BMB last time, didn't do maternity pictures or anything like that. I was pretty uncomfortable with how out of control I was with my body. But, I did take pictures each week to look at myself, I think it's incredible to see how the body changes in pregnancy. So even if you never post a picture here or anywhere else, I encourage you to take pictures while you're pregnant since I'm sure one day you'll enjoy looking back at it, or your child might want to look one day.
@Redpuma119 @starla @adirat @fwtx5815 So my direct supervisor knows, o e co-worker who is a mom, and our branch manager. But I made it clear I wasn't ready to tell upper management yet. (Just two other people on our team, so nbd, really.)
Well, guess who was here at work today: Upper Management lol. I could swear I got a downward glance at my tummy, but no one said anything. Not ready to go there yet...
The N18 board is up. Reminding me that there are people an entire two months behind us that know they’re pregnant! Nuts to me! This pregnancy still feels so new.
@SkilledSailor I know what you mean! At the same time, it makes me feel very grateful for how far I've made it.

So i was meeting with a male client earlier today and as he was leaving he goes "I can tell you are really tired and probably need some coffee" and points to his undereye area- implying that I have some undereye area deficit. I smiled and mumbled something but internally screamed, I color correct and use undereye concealer the correct way and have even considered restylane injections to even out my undereyes, and also use a product from Rodan and Fields that AINT CHEAP to depuff and even out the color, theres just divots under them by nature, so it was really super duper awesome to have this felon point that out for me today.

With DD my pregnancy felt like it took forever, although I was a nervous wreck the whole time. Everyone says it goes quicker when you have a toddler to look after and they were right! 2nd trimester tomorrow and I can’t wait!!!
One of our cats has a sensitive stomach and she has been throwing up all over the house today...not the best thing when you already have morning sickness yourself. I’m avoiding the piles waiting on DH to get home and clean it up.
@klj0228 that happened to me last pregnancy while my freaking husband was out of town! His freaking cat, not even one of my pets, but his cat was puking all over. I had to like kinda back up to it looking out of the corner of my eye and throw a ridiculously huge pile of paper towels on top. Then dry heave and gag a while. Come back and try to clean it without looking. Ugh. It was awful!!!!
This is kind of a weird place to update since I originally posted in STM+ thread about my kid getting tubes, and in "why my pregnant self is crying" about her not acting like herself and my sympathy cry for her, but for anyone following the saga, I took her to the doctor today (we're 1 week post op). Her one ear was caked with so much dried blood they couldn't see the tube, and her other ear was infected. We also have two top teeth about to poke through. Kids are so freaking tough, but man, trust your mamma instinct when you feel something isn't right.
My early FFFC is that I totally left cat puke on the floor yesterday for DH to clean up later that night. Our cat got sick when I was trying to fall back asleep in the morning after he’d already gotten up for the day. I have too weak of a stomach for that right now.
Also i was going to start the First Week of Sept EDD check in but I think that would require coming up with a GTKY and I’m pretty bad at that
edit: just went back and looked and it looks like we only do them monthly.

@Patience7150 aw I'm so sorry things were so bad! I hope more antibiotic drops help her feel better soon. You're so right, mom instinct definitely trumps all.
@Patience7150 that is so sad. Tubes are meant to correct those issues. Not have more while freshly post op. Your poor little one, momma bear instinct is always right.
Had an endocrinologist appointment today, turns out that my thyroid isn't enlarged but is atypically shaped based on a thyroid ultrasound. My endo said that I have markings and scar tissue from early stages of Hashimotos disease, so my thyroid function will continue to deteriorate and I'll end up on synthroid at some point. He also said it's hereditary so I'll need to get my LOs tested at their annual physicals via blood work. Glad to have a more concrete answer and that I'm in good hands.
Work is still insane. February was a great montth for my office and we did much better than expected, yay! My coworker and I went to Panera for lunch today and that was before she did our monthly report, so I'd say lunch out was well deserved.
Actual footage of how I wanted to react to a client's email tonight.
I haven't wanted wine so badly in AGES. If I wasn't feeling so queasy, I'd probably pour myself a glass. I'd like to think I have excellent customer service but holy sh*t lady, if I told you two days ago that if I ordered that furniture piece that day then it would arrive just in time next week, I meant it. You can't email me today saying you've decided you like it, can it get here in time. Um no. That's not how that works. #endvent
@nlc8424 How are you feeling about that diagnosis? It sounds like a good doctor! I can definitely understand the relief of having an answer.
@nlc8424 Are they putting you on levothyroxine for the pregnancy? I know that pregnancy can exacerbate thyroid issues and sometimes return to normal afterward.
@SkilledSailor I'm feeling okay about the diagnosis. I wish I had some kind of family history of it so I knew to anticipate it, but I'll just continue to be monitored by an endocrinologist to make sure that my labs stay normal and I get medication as needed. It may make weight loss post partum difficult, and I'll be prone to big swings in my thyroid after giving birth anyway if this time is similar to my last pregnancy, so I just need to pay attention to what my body is doing.
@adirat currently I'm not on any medication for my thyroid since all of my labs (free T4, TSH T3) are all normal. During my first pregnancy my thyroid was hyperactive, but never to the point of needing medication. After birth was a whole different story, 6 months post partum my labs were off the charts and I needed anti-thyroid medication, which sent me to hypothyroidism - I've been stable for about 8 months at this point. I go back to my endo in 6 weeks with lab work before, and then every 6-8 weeks after that until third tri, then every month until I deliver. I'll probably demand to be monitored with lab work every 2 months at a minimum after delivery to be safe since it was absolutely awful what I went through before.
