@stothi Just saw your comment about the GI infection - bless your heart! I choked on some water a few days PP and it was terrifying! I peed the couch in front of my parents and was pretty certain my uterus was going to explode out of me. I cannot imagine vomiting, etc.!
ETA I always pee when I throw up. Always. I don’t know what I did to get so lucky that I haven’t had any MS (yet? Knock on wood?) but omg I’m thankful. Otherwise I would 100% need to bring extra pants everywhere I went lol.
@ashh2018 yup, they are totally a thing! Your obgyn should be able to hook you up with a referral. I haven't a clue if you can start therapy during pregnancy but I would think you could. If you can I'd try to start sooner than later cause 3rd trimester can put some strain on your bladder and pee control for real. In college I made one of my pregnant friends in her third trimester laugh and pee her pants right before we went into a grocery store. She totally threw on her long coat and went shopping anyhow! No fs given, lol.
@stothi. Oh you poor thing, what a horrible illness to you through PP.
FTR, my post-transfer "ivf cold" turned into the Christmas / New Year's plague that just about everyone around here came down with. I was coughing my brains out for several weeks there in the beginning, so badly I was fairly certain I had cracked my sternum. Glad that's over. Being sick doesn't exactly yield anybody's finest moments. :/
I almost didn't open this because we're on to the next week, but f*cking thank you!!! I'm certain you just changed my life. I've been leaking every time I cough, sneeze, or puke since DD. I resolved that this was life. I'm definitely bringing this up at my next appointment and asking for a referral! I'd way rather deal with embarrassment at a therapist than peeing myself for lyfe. Thank you!!!!!

It's not life! It really isn't! They can fix you up. Depending on if you had damage to something like tearing or if it's a muscular weakness issue they can do surgery to repair damage or teach you the right exercise to strengthen the right muscles.
Entering rant mode- I can't for the life of me understand why physical therapy after pregnancy isn't standard!!! I mean your joints are out of whack or your muscles are messed up or you had a c section which is major frickin surgery or your vagina got torn- almost everyone has something they could use help with. Sometimes it's pretty minor but sometimes it's big deal quality of life stuff!!! I'm really shocked and saddened by how often I hear about us not getting the treatment we need Like I said, I'm one of the lucky ones vagina/pelvic floor wise, but I couldn't lift my left leg properly for like 6-7 months after my baby was born and I was too sick and exhausted to advocate for myself. My hips still aren't right. I'm mad that in general our society doesn't care enough about mothers to make sure we ACTUALLY recover from childbirth. Everyone alive ever lived because a mother gave them life! Freaking make sure we can walk right and not pee ourselves. It's the least we deserve in the way of a thank you.
@ashh2018 I have to keep solo cups in all the bathrooms so I can sit on the toilet and vomit or I end up in a puddle. God I'm sexy!!
*Stuck in a box*
Not the same thing, but a funny in a sad way story that you reminded me of- I got a wicked case of food poisoning about 5 years back and I needed to sit on the toilet and barf in a trashcan cause both ends where busy. I gave myself a freaking black eye cause I hit myself in the face with the rim of the trashcan when I grabbed it to throw up. Now I'm wishing I'd known about this solo cup trick! Could have saved myself a black eye! Although, I feel like vomiting into a cup might take more skill than I have... I may need to stick with the bigger target.
Re: Symptoms week of 2/18
@Car0liiine same. coughing is the worst!
