@kmurdock925 - My wedding ring hasn't fit right since my first pregnancy with DS1 in 2013.  It's supposed to be the same size, but for some reason my engagement ring fits longer during swelling.  So for the past 5 years I really just wear my engagement ring until swelling in 3rd tri and then I don't wear anything.

And why do strangers always make assumptions?  I had DS1 at the grocery a few months back.  It was a Saturday and I was wearing worn jeans an a t-shirt because we'd been cleaning the house all day.  DS1 wanted a bouncy ball from a vending machine for $0.75 and I didn't want to get him one (because he asks for 1 million things every time we shop - candy, toys, etc.).  I told DS1 "no, I don't have any cash on me, we can't get that and it's not on our (grocery) list".  A man nearby overheard and essentially gave DS1 the money to get the bouncy ball.  I realized the guy looked at me looking tired and in older clothes and probably thought I couldn't afford the darn bouncy ball.  He didn't realize I was trying to teach my kid that we don't get everything we want/ask for.  I was thoroughly annoyed.

mytinc  - I hate not wearing my rings...I just feel naked.  I will probably just order a cheapie silicone one this time around if it gets that bad again.  Is the band on your engagement ring thinner than your wedding band?  I know that can make a difference in the fit.

Ugh- again...I'm sure the man had good intentions but really??  I think I would have said something like "oh thank you...but we are learning that you don't always get what you ask for, yadda yadda"

Had I been on my game I would have responded that way @kmurdock925 - but I was completely caught off guard.

I bought a cheap $25 ring during my first pregnancy that I pull out for 3rd tri.  My husband thinks it's stupid, but he doesn't see the looks you get when you're obviously pregnant with no ring in sight.

I bought a cheapie ring with DS' pregnancy. I can't remember exactly when I had to make the switch. I think I have another 4-6 wks though. and I'm hoping I can make it longer since that was summer and it'll only be spring this time? I don't wear my rings unless I leave the house anyway. so maybe I can get by without a replacement.

I got a qalo ring to wear at work and it has been awesome for pregnancy. I definitely recommend it and they're very inexpensive. Also mine glows in the dark which is just fun.

Yes to the cheapie rings towards the end of pregnancy. The last thing I need is to not be able to get my ring off. But I hate not wearing something. Especially out in public. I feel naked. Plus I have this weird feeling that I’m being judged if I’m out in public, visibly pregnant (and now also with a toddler) and not wearing my ring.

Ugh! So freaking tired. It seemed like for a minute there I got that “second trimester energy boost” you hear about. But lately I feel like I’m back in the first trimester with the lack of energy and just being so tired. Not sleeping well in general, plus DS still isn’t sleeping through the night yet. I know part of my issue is I need to start moving my arse, but I’m too tiiiiiiired.

+1 to the constant waking up. Last night was a record. I got up to pee 3 times in 3 minutes. I also started taking Colace yesterday, and it really pulls the water out I was 3.5 lbs lighter today, which makes me feel a little better seeing I'm only up 10lbs from my pp weight. I'm a bit disappointed bc the prior 3 weeks I was going regularly with no meds I thought the constipation might be over for a while... nope. Taping my bump and back basically eliminated the hip pain/ PGP, but I still have the dull pain on my left side. I think its my fibroid pinching a nerve either that or somethings wrong bc it doesn't add up at all, nothing helps.
Anyone else feel like they can feel EVERYTHING in their lower (like the lowest part) stomach. Like I drink water and I can feel like moving down, 10 minutes later there's a pressure and I have to pee. Anyway EVERYTHING hurts. I'm in bed by 9pm now bc of not being able to sleep long. Its crazy to me, I pee about every 1-1.5 hours at work (when I'm actually drinking 8-10 cups water), but I have to pee every 10 minutes at home even though I probably only drink 1-2 more cups at home. So annoying.

Still having a lot of gas & burping. I find it amazing that all I drink is water and I burp as if shot-gunned 5 beers.

Also, random but I have a very hairy belly. Thankfully it is light colored hair but I still found it odd. Glad I won't be wearing a bikini anytime.soon (or ever).

Ladies with back pain, after some miserable days I made a commitment to myself to ice my lower back 2-3 times a day whether I really really feel like it or not. I feel significantly better after 2 days of this, and also putting a pillow behind my lower back in every chair I sit in. It’s embarrassing, but I have a lot of weeks left to get through.

I feel like I've reverted back to first trimester these past 2 days. I am fighting a virus right now so I'm not sure if that has to do with it or not, but I had a weird episode this morning. I thought it was my heart being it's usual dysfunctional self bc it was racing. I was also sweating, nauseous, and my limbs felt like noodles.  Finally figured out it wasn't my heart and was maybe low blood sugar, drank some soda and felt better in about 15 min. I had a good breakfast 4 hours prior. I was getting ready to eat lunch but couldn't imagine it bc of the nausea. Then all day off and on, I have felt horrible and as soon as I eat I feel better. Coupled with my lower glucose tolerance test results, I am slightly concerned and ordered a glucose meter off Amazon on my lunch break. I eat pretty frequently as it is, but if I didn't eat literally every 2 hours today, I felt the yuckiness coming on. Nobody got time for this!

Finally back from vacation so trying to catch up on everything, mostly love titting.

But +1 peeing more than once every hour, which is a super pain when trying to enjoy things!  I had to make sure we were always close enough to a bathroom  :D

So I wore compression stockings on my flight which helped a lot.  My feet/ankles looked normal when we arrived in Key West.  BUT a few days later plus heat and miles of walking, I swelled up like a balloon, includiny my rings being tough to get on and off.  Hoping it goes down and didnt't gateway into the pregnancy puffiness already.

@MissKittyDanger it's a silicone ring and like @kmurdock925 mentioned, there's a lot of different brands. I love my qalo and I've had it for about a year, wear it pretty much every day and it holds up very well. I think they're originally made for firefighters and military but it works great for zookeepers and pregnant fingers!

And +1 to icing your back. My ice pack is my best friend these days.

I feel like like I can tell now when baby is sitting on my bladder because I'll feel like I have to pee so badly and then barely anything will come out. And then it happens again 30 mins later. THX GURL.

Hi guys!  I had a pretty big scare this morning and luckily everything is fine.  I somehow lost 4 lbs this past week at 22 weeks.  I started freaking myself out because I haven’t felt much in the way of movement and had only gained about 10-12 lbs.  I’m definitely in the normal range but started worrying because everyone kept talking about how much they are feeling.  Anyway the doc had me come in and really he had no good explanation for the weight loss but luckily baby boy is very average size.  They said his current position “frank breach” is why I’m not really feeling anything.  They basically said he’s curled up in there and just too comfortable to stretch out!  I’m going for a follow up next week to check weight again.  It’s really a crazy thing because I’m very average size not very thin or overweight.  I’ve been stuffing my face at every meal and snacking all day until I’m practically uncomfortable.  Hubby bought me some more Girl Scout cookies today so hopefully that will help!
  • Options
@krismhl Could it have been water weight part of what you lost? I'm sure your dr would have said something if they were concerned :)
  • Options
@krismhl DD1 was frank breech, and I had the same thing with movement! I also dealt with low amniotic fluid so, closer to the end, my OB instructed me to call every time I didn't feel regular movement. Every time, she was in there cozy and fine, but just too wedged in to move. If your babe decides to stay in that position, don't feel silly about calling to ask about movement. Better safe than sorry, I think. Keep us posted on the weight, and good luck!

So I have been having this weird COLD/NUMB patch on my upper right thigh on and off for a few weeks... and tolerable. Often when I lie down.  But today OMG it is bugging me like the is no tomorrow.  It is not like my leg is asleep and tingly, but numb and cold... What gives pregnancy?

@rnielsen321 omg I've been having this too for some time but didn't know how to describe it or look to find what it was. You nailed the description, and though it stinks you're going through it I'm so glad to know I'm not imagining it! Same spot, same feeling!

I haven't really participated in this thread until now- most of my issues have been everyone around me getting me sick rather than this pregnancy is breaking me- but now it's both!

+1 to sleeping sucks and sucks even more when DD wakes up every night (sometimes multiple times in the night) because she is sick.  DH and I have been looking at each other horrified that we only have 3ish months left of sleep and she is ruining it for us!  I cracked the other night and brought her into our bed (she's 13 months old and we have never had her sleep in bed with us before).  But she would only stop crying when she was nursing and I needed some sleep- it wasn't good sleep, but I got 2 hours in before she woke up for the day.

+1 to the swelling starting.  It started much earlier with DD, but I was 20 weeks at the end of August last time- so the warmer weather and humidity played a part in that.  My ring indentation is getting uncomfortable and I will have to take my engagement ring off soon (my wedding band for some reason is the ring that is loose even though they are the same size for me).  I didn't wear a cheapy or anything with DD- and probably won't this time either.  My level of F&#Ks given about people judging me on my marriage status is a zero.  When I am huge and swollen I just don't care about your option.  I am just really not looking forward to being swollen for the next 3+ months.  I had gotten weekly pedicures to help with the swelling with DD- but now that she's here and always sick I don't have any me time to get a pedicure.  I really hope DH is willing to rub my legs and feet nightly.

Ah this thread makes me feel so much better about feeling bad! I’m a FTM so all of this is new but at least I know I’m not alone!

+1 to gas!! My DH is going to move out if I can’t get a handle on it lol!

+1 to the heartburn! It’s been driving me crazy, it’s actually what brought me to this thread today because I had to know if it was happening to others. I had no idea it could be triggered by chocolate, I had 1 Reese’s heart (hello irony) and now the heartburn struggle is real.

Im mainly noticing the swelling in my feet, my hands are fine but I work on my feet and after about an hour I just wanna sit gd it!!!

@Austenista I cried over finding the cat had coughed up a hairball on the bedroom carpet. So I think I'm right with you there.

AFM: I typically sleep great, but lately I seem to be having sleep starts as I'm crossing from wakefulness to sleep. It feels almost like I need to take a forgotten breath or I get a rush of adrenaline and I'm startled awake. I've had this occur a handful of times even before getting pregnant and got kind of freaked out about sleep apnea. Saw a specialist and he doesn't think apnea is the case as I'm not overly tired during the day, I don't snore, and the tissues in my throat don't look problematic...but I don't know what else could be triggering this unless some kind of underlying anxiety? Once I manage to fall asleep I'm fine for the rest of the night. But it makes going to sleep such a disturbing event when it does happen. What gives? :/

@doxiemoxie212 Me too! I feel like I have a band tightened underneath my left boob when sitting in certain postures. I sometimes have a similar sensation around the back left side of my ribs around the same level. I did Google because it was such a weird feeling (I know I shouldn't) but was relieved to see that a lot of pregnant women get this. I guess it's our ribs trying to expand to accommodate everything.
