  • Every time I lean over I get that water up your nose feeling. It’s super annoying and random.

  • @rnielsen321 I’ve been having crazy foot cramps! Idk why it is happening because I’m getting about 90 oz of water a day! The other night I had to get out of bed and took my foot on a can of tomatoes in the kitchen.

  • @silvergreen I’ve been having those starts some too. It is usually when I’ve rolled onto my back. I figure it is my body telling me to roll back to my side.

  • @rnielsen321 that's terrible. Sometimes, even when not pregnant, I get these cramps in my calf along the indention kind of, of the outer part from ankle to mid calf. They are absolutely horrible. Once I had one so bad that I couldn't walk for 2 days because it cramped so bad it was like bruised or something afterwards. Hopefully a bunch of water is the key! No idea what mine is ever from because hydration is like the only thing I'm good at. Maybe my magnesium? Who knows, but they suck!
  • Well, today I've starting peeing when I sneeze so that's great. I mean I knew it was coming, but ugh. My mom, still, 32 years after having me constantly tells me "don't make me laugh too hard, I'll pee" and then I tell her not to pee on my couch and she tells me it's my fault anyways   :D and I despise kegels.  Like I can do 5 and I'm totally over it and hate the way they feel.
  • @amys614 ugh +1 to hating kegals. Repeative motions tend to make me nauseous and kegals are no exception.

  • @amys614 you've done pretty good, I think I've been having this taken since about 8 weeks! Only sometimes, like if I sneeze within 5 minutes after peeing I'm safe so not often lol. And yes, levels aren't difficult but I just can never be compliant long enough to make a difference I think.

Second the tight wedding rings...also second the zero F’s about what other people think @jsl82 :D Marriage is not a prerequisite for pregnancy and jewelry does not equal marriage.

Having said that, I do like wearing mine at least having an option once my fingers swell so I’ll probably look into a silicone one.

My symptom right now is waking up feeling totally hungover...like I drank 3 glasses of wine the night before :( Anyone else getting that? I am sleeping through the night, i don’t have other children, I have a glass of water by the bed...I’m not drinking :D It’s so annoying! I wake up feeling and looking tired with a headache. I have had to take Tylenol a few times.

Does anyone have aby any suggestions for things to try and offset this?

  • Has anyone experienced pre-e in a prior pregnancy? When do headaches (without other symptoms) become concerning?
  • @marcus7676 I have no prior experience but my blood pressure readings have been high in office. This is what my mom friend who had pre-e said:

“headaches that won't go away even with tylenol, upper right quadrant pain, extreme swelling and vision changes (usually seeing spots, or getting very blurry). if you have any one of those or a combination, let them know!!“

    are you having bad headaches??

  • @LaceyBee522 Ugh, it's just such a bad feeling. Google says there's a lot of people out there that experience this, but no one really seems to have a solution other than trying anti-anxiety treatments... I'm just wondering if I've become aware of sleep-onset central apneas, which I've come to understand occur even in healthy individuals.

  • @sunshineandwhiskey frequent headaches - not migraines but not pleasant. I’m terrible about taking Tylenol because of all those studies linking Tylenol and ADHD / behavioral issues. The headaches go away when I do, so maybe I need to be better about taking it rather then suffering (because I eventually cave). Thanks for that information! I don’t have any other symptoms - I do wonder if mine are caused by dehydration.
  • @marcus7676 water will definitely be the first thing they mention to you for sure. They did with my second high BP reading. My doc also asked about caffeine too - whether too much or not enough causing withdraw. Keep an eye on it but definitely try not to worry yet! I hope the water helps <3

  • @marcus7676 I had pre-e and never had a single indication that anything was wrong but my blood pressure just kept climbing. I felt completely normal. To confirm in my case, I had to catch my urine for  24 hours and bring them all of it to test.

Your headaches could be something or it could be nothing. Don’t freak yourself out googling. I would let your OB know and see what she advises. In the meantime I recommend you (and anyone else who is pregnant and reading this) order yourselves a bp monitor for home use. Bp climbing is often one of the first indicators. Don’t get the wrist one either, do the cuff, they’re more accurate.

  • Thank you @austenista and @sunshineandwhiskey my next appointment isn’t until March 7 so I may send a message to my doctor this week and start downing water.
  • I didn’t know swollen gums were a real thing, but they certainly are
  • Fatigue is strong over here. I feel like I have no energy. I can barely motivate to do the bare minimum. I'm kind of wondering if I should mention it to my doctor or if it's just one of those things.

  • @Austenista mention it.  Could be a sign of something like anemia.  We're getting close to the point in pregnancy where they will do routine check for it but definitely worth mentioning.

  • @sabby2 they actually checked last visit (a week ago) and my iron levels were normal. I still think I'm going to ask about the tiredness because I'm just feeling run down and depleted. I actually wondered to myself tonight if they'd take blood and check for other vitamin deficiencies if I asked. Maybe I need more vitamin D or something? Who knows?

  • @Austenista - Definitely ask about checking for vitamin deficiencies, if your iron level was good. Vitamin D deficiency is fairly common, and can drain you of all of your energy. I've had a deficiency for years, and if I don't make sure I'm taking in enough Vit. D I feel like it would take a train to move me. :grimace:

Good luck! Glad your iron levels are good, though!

  • @rnielsen321 I have random numbing in my hands. Sometimes it wakes me up bc it’s so uncomfortable. Mine feels more like falling asleep tingling though. Oh the randomness of it all!
  • I’m super constipated still and I can definitely relate to the gas storms lol. My boobs feel like the size of watermelons. I mean they are so huge they go into my armpits. I also get so hot. I feel sorry for my kids and hubby because it’s freezing in our house sometimes but it feels great to me.
  • @austenista I don't think I was checked for iron until well into my third tri last time - - I'd ask to be checked earlier.  I'm always on the low end and dropped below the recommended levels in third tri last time, so I've been trying to be better about eating more iron rich foods (my go to is actually hemp seeds, which helped increase my levels last time).
  • @Austenista they just ran my blood last week and I got the results today. I do not have low iron but my red blood cell counts are low. I haven’t heard from my doc yet about it, but I find I’m losing energy more than I was before. Will keep you posted on what I find out but also agree with others you should ask your dr to test you.
  • My doc checks for iron, etc at the same time as the glucose test.  I def had low iron last time and just started an OTC supplement early this time to try an avoid it again.
  • The insomnia is starting to kill me. Was up from about 230 until almost 4 this morning. And our upstairs neighbors were playing music again. Good thing I'm just doing stuff around the house today since I know I'm not exactly a joy to be around right now.

  • Anyone have back pain issues? Like lower back I mean. I'm trying to do yoga to stretch it out, but it's not working.
It's mostly at night I seem to have issues, so I've been wearing my belly band to give more support and that works somewhat but I know it's only going to be a short term idea.

    Help? :(
  • I cannot believe how early I am having sciatic pain this time. When I sit or lay down, it takes me a good minute or two before I can walk normally. I have to walk sort of sideways, as though one leg is shorter than the other? All I know is that IT HURTS MAN!! couple that with the returning nausea and ongoing heart burn... Is it the third trimester yet?
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @meg95995 my coworker showed me a few ways to stretch it out. Stand with right leg crossed against left knee. The stretch will help. Do both legs to get a real stretch around the area also. I started that just shy of 16 weeks

@MissKittyDanger I've got pretty bad lower back pain too, but it's something I've dealt with before pregnancy. Hazard of my job. I usually lay with an ice pack in the evenings and it helps a lot. I also got clearance from my Dr to use a roll on pain reliever. It helps when I have a really bad day. Some people like heat better, but ice has always worked for me. Hope that helps!

@MissKittyDanger When I get lower back pain it helps to have DH massage my upper glutes or to stretch my glutes myself. I think loosening my glutes eases the strain on my lower back.
  • @Amphibious22 It feels like a support issue, because it's mostly at night. Maybe pressure? I know Sunday night when I couldn't sleep, I sat up to change pillows between my knees {tiny pillow vs body pillow} and the second I leaned forward, it was like a relief of pressure! Wtf! lol
I'll try icing my back before going to bed, maybe it'll help. At this rate I'll try anything.

@llamamama14 Okay ... so weird question, where are the glutes specifically? Is that like the butt muscle?
  • am I the only one out there experiencing the super gross Leukorrhea? Or is no one else wanting to talk about it because it's so gross?  I can't say I remember this happening with my others.  Presented itself as what I thought was a yeast infection, but they tested me for that at the doctor's office and I don't have a yeast infection. I just have really gross discharge. I also have the other fun ones - constipation, super gross gas and swelling hands and feet! Yay for pregnancy!  Oh and who needs sleep anyway?  It's totally overrated!

  • @doxiemoxie212 - thank you for making me feel human again. I was starting to feel like I was the grossest pregnant lady in the world. I'm literally changing my undies like 3 times a day right now. I should just submit and wear a panty liner.

  • @MissKittyDanger Yes ma'am. Hence it being DH's job.  I like to do the stretches shown in the spoiler or I have DH knead/massage my butt until I feel he hits a tight/knotty part.

I'd never googled the connection between tight glutes and lower back pain (I just found by trial and error it works for me) but in searching for these images I saw many articles mentioning a connection between tight butt muscles and lower back pain.

+1 on sciatica.  I need to get my stretch on.  Heartburn is awful lately.  I'm probably going to ask about something like dexilant or prilosec to take at my appointment next week.  I'm at the point where I sometimes get burning, tender epigastric pain so I think I may need something more than as needed Zantac (which I practically take daily anyway) or tums.

I've noticed ocassional pregnancy carpal tunnel sneaking in again.  I hated that last time and it definitely got worse the more swollen I got towards the end.

Has anyone else had increased earwax?  My ears feel disgusting and I have no idea if it's even related to pregnancy or not but I typically do not have an issue with this...

  • @murraydog2008 I hear you on the discharge! I’ve also been checked for yeast infection. Just really gross discharge. I haven’t felt “dry” downstairs in months and not in a good way!
