We were in Chicago for my best friends wedding the weekend we conceived. Lots of deep dish and lots of wine and LOTS of tequila. So it sounds like my baby is going to come out like this?
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert that gif is amazing and exactly how I imagine stepping on a June bug would make me feel.
We conceived either right before or right after a weekend trip to Denver, during which I enjoyed a constant buzz, ate a lot of sushi and consumed copious amounts of Denver’s dispensary products.
It feels really crappy to feel like i give a lot of support and to not feel like I have any of my own with a member trash talking me right now. Not going to lie.
Don't let it get to you. But I know thats easier said then done.
There are plenty of people here who see your value to this board@
@lindsayleigh1989 because you’re more vocal and took an active lead early on, you’re naturally going to have the “disgruntled few” use you as a target so to speak. I thought you handled yourself wonderfully tonight. You were kind and kept your cool. If anything, I thought it highlighted (to those who may not know you well) how dead wrong she is about you. We love you and you know who your tribe is now. Rest easy tonight mama and F the haters.
@4deep thank you! People like that make me question things and i did my sleuthing. It was definitely enlightening to see some of her post history before this board particularly in the TTGP board, man I normally wouldn't share that but it was really nasty and made me feel better that this is wasnt just a me issue at but rather a character issue on their end.
also if anyone out there who does think im mean please do reach out I really would like to clear the air with you if not publicly shoot me a pm I promise i dont bite!
Well that thread was a total embarrassment to grown ass women that are about to become responsible for raising humans. I feel like the other BMBs are laughing at July right now @lindsayleigh1989 hang in there, you handled that well and I know that despite this being unnecessary internet drama it can't feel good.
@flockofmoosen3 Omg I watched that Netflix documentary. It was terrifying. It was a total bait and switch - the title and description make you think "this will be a nice way to learn how my baby is developing" and then afterwards you're like "omg I'm going to have identical quintuplets whose organs are on the wrong sides of their bodies."
After catching up up on the infamous thread.....yikes. Virtual hug to @lindsayleigh1989
I feel like this BMB is my escape in a lot of ways, reading everyone’s posts and seeing the growth of everyone’s babies, including the end of month people.
I felt sad and a little mad to see all of that go down earlier. Yes, it’s intimidating to see the posts of people getting corrected, but it shows me what is accepted and not accepted in this community. I feel honored to be a part of this group. I don’t know if I’m wrong here, but in order to be a part of a community you have to actually participate and not just throw a comment around every once in awhile. That’s like living in a house full of people and only buying yogurt for yourself and never contributing anything else.
Anyways, I know all of that has already been said, but I am hoping that if anybody else has any issues they will come forward in the future instead of letting resentment build and acting out.
It’s important that we cultivate a group of supportive women here that will back each other up and not try to tear one another down. So I’m proud of most of what I saw tonight.
For the record, a certain member previously posted in TTGP that (basically) infertile women should stay off TTGP and go to their "own" boards so she could talk about sex selection with Shettles without offending people who would literally torture themselves for a child of any sex.
I'm going to restrain myself to simply pointing those posts out for anyone who chooses to engage with her further. But I can't let it pass by un-noted.
ETA: And if you happen to share that belief with her, this is not a topic I'm open to discussing.
Ummmmm, I thought threads could never be deleted? Where is the major thread from yesterday?!? Can the bump God's be convinced that something can be deleted? I thought this specific thread was fine, as far as staying in topic and addressing the OP's concerns. I'm SUPER confused now....
@flockofmoosen3 I watched the same Netflix doc - it's NOT for worried, pregnant women! I did end up finishing it, they get into some transgender issues which I thought was interesting, but yeah, it wasn't what I expected.
Wow, busy day at work yesterday and I missed alllll the drama. Not quite sure what all went down, but gather it had to do with ultrasounds and mean girls.
@flockofmoosen3 I live in NY and my husband and I fantasize about moving to North Carolina. We still rent, partly because we're broke from trying to pay off student loans and CC debt/ridiculously high cost of living in NY, but also partly because we don't really want to buy a house in NY and pay the crazy taxes. The property taxes on the house we rent are 15K/year. Granted we live in probably the most expensive county in the state...and one of the most expensive in the country....but even in a cheaper part of NY, I don't know if we can justify it. If we did buy a house without relocating, it would be in CT, since we live 10 mins from the border and they do not have property taxes. Anyway, back to North Carolina, my brother and sister in law moved there from CT a few years ago and they LOVE IT. They're in Chapel Hill, but they say the entire triangle area is great. It's not just cheaper, it's more relaxed and just a whole different mentality than NY. We visited them a few months ago and did really like it. It's not near the beach, but the house they bought is about 3 times the size of their CT house, and cost about the same. Also, my sister in law kept her same job but works remotely from home, so she kept her same CT salary. If we ever finally get our finances in order, we are seriously considering moving to that area in a few years if we can find jobs. I just have to make sure I would be able to get admitted as a lawyer there without taking the bar again (I am pretty sure I can for a fee). I think the areas closer to the beach could be harder to find jobs, but if your husband can keep his job and work remotely it wouldn't matter
@zande2016 to summarize, certain people felt left out (understandably) because the 1st tri u/s thread was unpinned prematurely. A certain person started a poll asking whether we should split u/s and milestone threads(what milestone threads, still unclear) by due date, essentially splitting the BMB to early and late month due dates. It was voted 80%+ in favor to keep it the way it is, and we came to the conclusion to start a new u/s thread, love tits only, inclusive of all trimesters for the remainder of the pregnancy. So after all of this discussion, a certain member came back to attack another member, pointing out the fact that people message her all the time to talk shit about the other member. And people were (understandably) not happy about it. Gifs and snark abound.
@zande2016 I live in CT and we definitely have property taxes! Probably not as high as most parts of NY but we do have them. My aunt sold her house in NY and moved to Texas... bought a house twice the size, way more land, and MUCH less in taxes.
My fiancé and I were going to move south but now with the baby we want to stay close to family
Thanks @zande2016! I love the beach, so I would take a 1-2 hr drive for some good warm water in NC. one possible plus is that my father and step mother live in NC, and it would be easier to convince my in-laws to join us down there than where we currently are. Last night we were having trouble finding good schools tho...lower taxes def make the difference! (We have really great schools where we live).
@flockofmoosen3 that is definitely true re schools. The district I live in now is really great, and I am hesitant to give that up. There's a lot to consider.
unfortunately bump gods will at times just delete threads... which is stupid in my opinion
Yeah but at the same time there was no value there. The decision to not split US threads was made early on in the thread then it just turned in to bashing our July mamas. It's no great loss.
@sarafuss I had the early GD as well; I did not have GD with the others, but they were big so they want to be cautious, esp since I'm AMA.
@beanship I didn't find out for either of my others, and I'm not finding out this time, too. Older gen thinks it's great, younger gen thinks I'm nuts. It works for me! I love it!
@lindsayleigh1989 who is giving you trouble? What did I miss? @zande2016 thanks for the recap. Someone needs to PM me name(s) so I know who to look out for! And don't mess with my girl @lindsayleigh1989 !
@lindsayleigh1989 I totally think you are mean...in the BEST way possible! I admire and respect your honesty, bluntness, and "not here to blow steam up your waaazzzooo" attitude. You're also extremely kind, caring, empathetic, and genuine. If others cannot take a few minutes to go through history and see this, then they are the ones who are failing at seeing the reality. You're my kind of people and I will gladly sit at your table any day of the week. Bitches be crazy!
Edit: because apparently I don't know the difference between "hear" and "here". eeek!
My daughter's painting of fruit. So proud! Green is a pear, red is tomato, blueberries, clementine and orange, banana and lemon...she's adding grapes and a pink grapefruit now. We do a lot of arts and crafts at home. I have a whole room dedicated to kids' art stuff.
@flockofmoosen3 we do all sorts of arts at our house too! DH is complaining because I have a huge roll of art paper and we just tear big pieces of to paint and then tape them to the windows to dry, so sometimes we have like, no free windows. He prefers using his hands and fingers to brushes though, which makes it extra messy!

TL;DR: high school happened, but on the internet.
