Re: Weekday Randoms pt.2 1/10-1/11

  • Holy moly its been a trying week. DS has refused naps for two days (he usually just hangs out in his room but the last two days he's been SCREAMING the whole time to be "let out" lol) and this morning woke up at 5:50am. He's tired! WTF. I am so over this. I know I will lose naps at some point but I got shit to do during this nap and between my damn dogs being all twitterpated and running everywhere and him screaming non stop for someone to come get him I can't get a damn thing done. RAWR.

@MichelleAG05 yes, it is earlier than most people get the glucose test.  I'm not sure of the reason for others, but for me (mine is Monday) I have to be tested early since I have had GD in all my prior pregnancies.  Most people get tested between 24-28 weeks.  If I pass this one at 12 weeks I still have to be tested again around 28 weeks (or sooner if I am showing symptoms).
This is the same as me. I am going for my 1hr glucose test tonight because Im a plus size person and because i have had gd in the past. Im praying i pass this one and then will have to be retested at 28 weeks.

  • Going through December and January bmb and seeing all of their announcements has me crying. Excited to know that in 5-6 months our bmb will be filling up with announcements. Gosh darn hormones!
I do this too!! Can't wait for our first babies to be born, although I hope they are all well baked when it happens!
  • @zombiehoohaa bout to check that board out...
  • @beanship We've actually been getting the opposite, where people are questioning why we WANT to find out. I guess the people we know are old fashioned lol. I wanted to try to wait but hubby doesn't think we can do it lol
  • @ckmb_knottie grab tissues!! The level of happy crying is at the max!

Thank you all! It feels great to have encouragement over our name choice. We both love River and our families do, too. If we could only decide on a middle name
  • @HayHay I love the name River soooo much!

@zombiehoohaa 5-6 months...Sh** it's getting kinda too close for comfort! Gotta start getting organized!

@SmashJam I just microwaved my sandwich meat like a good prego woman, bahahaha.

Work has been kicking my ass today and I'm so over it. We're prepping all these charts and my boss is 100% last minute about it and she is bitching that she is on the east coast. I woke up and immediately got on the phone for 1 hour. I've been working on Excel all day, I'm still in my PJs and I JUST had lunch (3pm). Plus DH is home sick. Ok, whine over. When baby is here, this will be nothing.

Also I cried while watching Kubo and the Two Strings last night, such an adorable movie!
  • It feels really crappy to feel like i give a lot of support and to not feel like I have any of my own with a member trash talking me right now. Not going to lie.

  • My randomness for tonight: it’s 10pm and I’m currently eating chips and queso. The baby wants what the baby wants I guess lol I should have waited to take my bump pic and y’all could have seen a bigger bump ;)
  • @lindsayleigh1989 I’m sorry you’re having a crappy night and I hope it gets better. So many things I wanted to say on that other post but couldn’t keep up. You are very supportive and supported. I like being in the same BMC as you!
  • @lindsayleigh1989 I second pretty much everything @hayhay93 said.  You are definitely one of the most supportive and genuine members. Thanks for going to bat for all of us on the other thread! I was off all afternoon so sorry I wasn't there to jump in to support you.

  • Also, I’m sad because I posted the u/s of my baby’s private, mostly because I thought it was funny that the lady wrote “boy parts” on it. Only to realize that I probably shouldn’t have and may have offended people. I removed it but I feel bad.
  • Oh! I almost forgot to mention: I was watching a Netflix documentary last night--the first nine months?? I forget now...but I thought it was going to be a fun show about how baby grows and all this...NO! It's scary as hell! It's all about what could go wrong.

The first episode talks about how the mother's diet AT CONCEPTION can influence the life expectancy (immunity to disease) of their child. In Gambia mothers who conceived in the rainy season ate more leafy greens and fruit and their babies were healthier and lived longer throughout their lives (it was a longitudinal study) than the children conceived in the dry season.

And then there was the girl who grew too fast and could develop tumors, or the woman who's skin grew in upside down (kind of), or the baby who needed heart surgery at 5 days old (and recovered well), the boys in the Dominican Republic whose penises didn't grow so their parents thought they were girls! But all these things that can go wrong and have nothing to do with anything the mother does (except the diet thing at conception) is terrible for pregnancy anxiety.

    I might watch more tomorrow.

  • @flockofmoosen3 thank you for the warning!! It's been on my watch list and I feel I better prepare myself first for it!

  • Finally ordered a maternity pillow today. Is it too early for that? Idk but I will NOT argue with being cozy
  • @mamamecha never too early! I still use mine from DS. SO COMFY
  • @lindsayleigh1989 I was literally going to write a response saying we weren't taking the bait and we were all tired. But thought I'd come off "rude" and people would be like WTF is she talking about. Also last time I wrote a response about the trolls coming out to play I got a "warning"  :/

@acunamatada Haha that's my plan too! Although my fiancé was a little disappointed it was so big

@lindsayleigh1989 Its the PharMeDoc C-shaped full body pillow. Too many choices online so I just went with amazons choice lol but the reviews were good!

Edited because my second half got deleted?
  • @4deep from my digging she only has two
posts total on the bump and her first being in november of preg. test on the PGAL
board. Very similar dear diary type entry so Im
calling drive by and not even worth the effort. Nor do i feel like giving bait to people who might be a little report happy now ;)

@TalesOfASocialIntrovert that is actually the worst!

  • Everyone continue to repost their old US pictures in the new US thread until we get it pinned. That way we're not making it messy with a ton of comments asking to pin it. And when you post your picture add a comment to bumpadmin to please sticky. I just bumped it a few minutes ago so if it's still not pinned tomorrow I'll post some old US pics to keep it bumped :)

This! I have no more words because work sucked and I spent 8 hours on graphs and spreadsheet. So thanks @hayhay93 for letting me borrow your words!
  • Ughhhhh I had to put my kid to bed and missed like 20 posts on the other thread. I have so many things to say but I'm going to listen to all you wise ladies and not beat a dead horse. The struggle is real.
  • @beanship oh man you have haha ;)

  • @flockofmoosen3 I'm going to stay away from that documentary  just because I'm a hypochondriac but if you want a laugh I'll say this babe was conceived in Polynesia where I ate pretty much everything available at the breakfast buffet every single day with a good dose of champagne in the afternoon, lol!

At least the food was super fresh and I had plenty of fruit and juices too. Based on how amazing I think the food was during those two weeks, I'm sure think he is gonna be a happy baby, bahahaha!
  • Does anyone here live in North Carolina? My husband and I are on track to reduce our spending and increase our wealth (financial independence/retire early) and we currently live in NY. Our taxes per year on our moderate house is $6k, so while we refinanced to reduce our mortgage payments we can't change the taxes. We'd assume that my husband could get a remote/WFH job so he could maintain a higher salary and we could find less expensive housing. I love the beach (grew up on both coasts), and would love to be within driving distance to warm waters.

So, any recommendations on cities to check out? Good schools, not too far from the beach...
