You go girl! Let's drink up today ladies! None of that stinky, dirty water for us. Rolling out of bed now to go get started. Thanks for the AM reminder. Chug, chug, chug!
Water. Le sigh. I hate the taste of our well water so I am forever hauling filtered water home from the store. I know I don’t drink as much as I should because it’s such a PITA to buy all the time. I’ve tried a Brita pitcher in the fridge but it doesn’t really correct the taste. I will drink it if I add in a few drops of the Mio or Crystal light squeeze things. Anyone tried a water filtration system that really works?
(I should add that there’s actually nothing wrong with the water, it’s been tested and it’s fine, DD and DH drink it no problem, I’m just apparently super picky about the taste.)
@lisa2589 some tap water tastes BAD. When DH and I first moved to DC, we couldn't even drink the water at restaurants because it was tap, and it was just so gross. V different from what we were used to in SF and NYC. We're in NYC now, and we have a fridge filtration thing (like the water comes out of the door, and I buy filters for the fridge), but the water tastes good to begin with. I would honestly consider a water delivery service if your tap water tastes bad. I know it might seem crazy, but if it will help you drink more water for these few months...
Would anyone else be into a Weekly Water thread to help stay motivated? Like, you get to post a water gif if/when you reach your daily water intake goal? Or something? I think it would help motivate me for some reason, but obv would be lame for me to just have a thread that only I post water gifs on if no one else is into that. lol
Okay yay! Maybe we'll start the goal a little lower this week since we're not all doing our absolute best? So maybe 64 oz/day you get to post a gif? And then next week we can do 80? Eventually 100?
@doxiemoxie212 that sounds good! Are we going to subtract out the other stuff we drink? like coffee, soda, tea? or is it just straight whatever water you drink? That just made this seem super serious haha

@sunshineandwhiskey I think just like.... everyone can develop their own system lol. Honor code! If you workout or drink coffee/tea, try to drink more than the 64 oz for this week, but we'll be flexible since it's our first week holding each other accountable!
Good call, @doxiemoxie212. I am going to look into a water delivery service in my area. If all else fails, I’ve considered doing a weekly grocery store order where they could just have a few boxes of water ready to load in my vehicle when I get there.
@lisa2589 I was going to suggest one of those separate standing water jug coolers like dr offices have. I'm not sure if it's the same as home delivery? My parents had one at their camp and they just bought their own jugs somewhere to put in. I can understand though. We don't have well water but I do nooot like the taste.
and yes to a wkly water check in! All I drink is water but I forget to drink all the time. Chronic issue of mine lol.

Totally in for a water thread, and I think I'm going to pick up some of that true lime stuff that @amys614 has. I used to drink water with crystal light religiously but I'm trying to stay away from artificial sweetners. The true lime only has stevia - that doesn't make it any less valid, does it? It's my only hope . I hate plain water.
I'm being super on top of my water intake today because I have an ob appointment at 3 and I'm not sure if I have to give a urine sample or not. I do know I have to give blood so being hydrated helps with that too.
There are some water intake tracker apps that remind you to drink too if anyone needs help with it!!
@becca_123 this is the one I get. The ingredients only list crystallized lime, non GMO. I know they have crystal light type packets as well that id imagine have the Stevia in them. I don't think these do. They literally just taste like some lime or lemon juice was squeezed into the water. I sometimes buy it in the giant bulk shaker too bc I use like 3 packets at a time. I like my water borderline sour. My mom says my water tastes like lemonade, no sugar.
@llamamama14 - This thread opened to your waterfall gif. I now have to pee.

For you ladies talking about weight gain the other day. I have this apt book from DS. At 18.6wks, I was up 10-12lbs. By 22.6wks, I jumped another 7-8lbs.... in one effin month. That was the last time I logged my weight apparently lol. So it atleast shows it can come on at anytime!
but also. 18 to 22 wks? Maybe it was half baked I was eating ha!

Things are definitely better now that we're in Second Tri, but yowza the constipation has really kicked it into high gear! I'm trying more water and fiber and DH has been really sweet and made me smoothies to help things along, but it's just not getting things moving. It's actually getting painful and I might have to resort to stool softeners. I had to with my other kids too, but not this early on.
The other one that is getting me pretty good right now is the RLP. I sneezed the other day while driving and it hurt so freaking badly I almost cried. I don't know if this is normal or not, but OUCH! I definitely had RLP much worse with #2 than my first so I was anticipating this feeling, but again - feels pretty early for this.
I was having some pretty bad insomnia, but that seems to have chilled out a bit. Might have been related to having too much going on and on my mind with Christmas planning and everything. It also just seems to be pretty normal in pregnancy. I personally think this is natures weird way of preparing us for the sleepless nights ahead. It's like tapering down our sleep to the 3-4 hours of broken sleep we'll get come June.
@murraydog2008 When my constipation was at its worst I drank some Magnesium Citrate and it helped get things moving. They didn't necessarily keep moving, but it at least relieved the pain/discomfort.
@Laceybee522 My midwife suggested adding Magnesium into my supplements and I've been doing that for the past month. It doesn't seem to be making anything better. Just gives me crazy ass dreams!
@amys614 thanks! I literally went to Target to see if they had any (and picked up a bottle of water on the way out, thanks ladies for the motivation ) but they didn't have any so off to Amazon I go!
Yes - I need the water thread in my life as I’ve never been good at drinking water. I did put a giant filtered water container in our master bathroom so I don’t have to go downstairs in the middle of the night even though I am getting up a lot to pee
@catlady1215 I wish I had saved my weight trackers from my first 2 pregnancies. Would be nice to compare. I do remember hearing anecdotally from a couple different sources that it's healthy/ normal to have a big weight gain jump in the 2nd trimester (I think around 20 weeks) because your fluid level is rising and baby is growing or something. I can't remember all the details but I remember this theory goes against the typical "gain weight at an even pace" advice you normally read.
I also think just looking at pounds doesn't take into account the nutrition of what you're eating/what nutrition baby is getting and how much of your weight gain is fluids.
@llamamama14 well that's good to hear! so I can atleast brace myself if it happens again lol. I might even stop looking at their scale. but my personality just hasss to know. I don't think my weight gain is fluids... unless those fluids are being stored in my ass

I feel like I sound like a broken record but my pelvis bone bottom/vagina encasing bone hurts so damn bad and it's getting worse. I'm going to talk to my doctor about it at my appointment in 8 days, but does anyone have any experience with SPD? I hear it's difficult to have doctors take you seriously and often chalk it up to normal aches and pains. You can't really diagnose it since xrays are a no, there's not a lot for treatment, and it usually goes away after delivery.
I really need to call a chiropractor and see if I can find any relief there. My pain is to the left slightly, the same side I have sciatica issues on, so maybe a chiropractor CAN help? Getting out of a car or out of bed without keeping my knees tightly together is so damn painful.
@amys614 I had bad PGP/SPD at the end of my pregnancy with my son. It came back with a vengeance starting super early this time. I asked my doctor about it at my 12 week appointment and she suggested I Google some exercise videos. She said there are some really great videos out there that show different exercises that help and a lot of them are free on YouTube. I did look into it some and it did help. I'm 18+6 now and feeling better than i was at my 12 week appointment which could also be a coincidence. It's worth a try though.

@doxiemoxie212 It was something really specific that someone's midwife told her about weight gain in a specific 2 week period during the 2nd tri. I can't remember and it was a couple years ago that I read it.
Left side of my left boob hurts. I have big ta-ta's so my arm will rub against it. It's hard to describe the pain - feels more bruise-like? However, trying to locate a specific area where it hurts is difficult as pressing on it doesn't seem to trigger it. Feel like it's more if my skin catches or from the weight of my breasts pulling. I think I may have had a little bit of secretion out that boob last night, which totally surprised me as a FTM (two tiny wet spots on my shirt) so I'm wondering if could be a swollen/irritated duct trying to prep itself?
At what point are you ladies concerned about cramping? I've had cramps all day, for almost twelve hours now. I took Tylenol and it wore off in less than an hour. It's really painful, enough that I can't do much. I don't remember having this from my other pregnancies. I'm sure it's just growing pains but it's so bad, I'm terrified that I'm going into preterm labor.
