@izza2 I wasn’t a huge spam lover, but my dad and brother ate it often, so I had some occasionally, My Dad used to pan fry it in butter with a little brown sugar, so it would get kind of a sweet crispy crust. Kind of like honey baked ham, I guess? I’d just eat it straight that way, no sandwich or anything.

I've been avoiding this post cause I just don't enjoy much food this pregnancy or have cravings.
but i knew there would be ramen talk so I had to come in. I've always been a ramen fan and I've been caving so much lately. Just for lunch today actually, ha!
otherwise, for lunch ive been having a super lame salad but it's hitting the spot and filling me up. Just plain iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese and 2 eggs cut up small mixed in. With ranch.
and I always have lays chips around the house. Small handful every night helps get the 'yuck mouth' away from foods all day. annnnd muffins. Choc chip. It's the only 'sweet' I've liked.
but as of this very moment, I actually want some of this cinnamon apple boxed crumble cake stuff I've bought before. And I JUST heard DH pull up from grocery shopping already. Damnit.

Also never have had spam But it reminds me of canned corned beef and I love that stuff cold in a sandwich. Yum. May have to pick that up next time I go grocery shopping.
On the other hand I woke up disgustingly congested and I'm really trying to convince DH to go pick me up some pho
@izza2 we use to eat spam pan fried for breakfast growing up as like a replacement for ham or bacon. I haven’t had spam since I left my mother’s house for college 10 years ago. It’s right there with kool aid, bologna, and yes ramen noodles as stuff I ate so much as I kid I have no desire for as an adult and haven’t had it since.
@izza2 I always ate spam fried, with ketchup, the same way we ate fried bologna. Yum!
Obviously, ramen for the win, but I have also really been craving Trader Joe's vegetable fried rice and Chicken Gyoza Potstickers with the freaking amazing Gyoza sauce. I could seriously eat them every day.
I've also never had Pho but they just opened a place near our house that I'm now eager to check out! Especially since it's been SO cold!
I begged H go out and get Klement's jalapeno smoked sausages yesterday and then had him drag out the grill to cook them. So delicious! Made my whole day.
You guys, DH brought me pho yesterday (my first time) and it was so plain and underwhelming is it supposed to be super tasty and delicious because mine was not
Sorry it didn't live up to the hype @becca_123! I always eat at restaurant because they bring a big dish of fresh basil and other mix-ins and sauces. I have a friend who likes plain, but I always load up.
@becca_123 I feel confident saying that it was just bad pho! The broth should be super flavorful. Did you get the garnishes, as @ramblebee mentions? There should be basil, jalapenos, sprouts, lime, and usually a selection of sauces (though you don't even need the sauce if you've got good broth!). You need to find a new pho place!

@MoonOverGoldsboro@ramblebee well since we brought it home it was a make it yourself sort of deal - like everything was separate and we put it together in a bowl. I didn't get any sauce, sprouts, jalepeno etc though. All I had was broth, noodles, meat, cilantro, shallots and onion. Tfff??? Yours sounds better.
Edit: ok so I went downstairs and low and behold hiding behind our butcher block was a bag of bean sprouts, jalepenos, sauce and such. So upset right now.
Dairy since day 1 has been main craving. {mostly milk, cheese and SOFT ice cream or milkshakes}
Grilled cheese though .... and ladies, ramen is amazing! I haven't had it in awhile - even when I wanted salty things at the beginning!! wtf! - and now I'm just thinking of ramen with parm and soy sauce .... mmmm
@MissKittyDanger plus one to the dairy craving. I can’t get enough milk in particular. It’s so different than with DS. With him I was all about klaussen pickles and potato chips. I also had a Pinterest board where I just sat and pinned the most elaborate over the top desserts I could find while dreaming about eating them. This pregnancy all I want is milk and cheese.
I did have a borderline sexual experience with some chicken noodle soup from Chick-fil-A the other day. I’ve been thinking about that soup ever since.
@LaceyBee522, no I’m not but my aunt used to bring it to Christmas every year and I was watching a food show on the travel channel and they were featuring it.

I just randomly had those animal crackers pop in my head. You know, the pink and white frosted ones with sprinkles that left a weird coating in your mouth. I have avoided them probably for the last 15 years because I have no self control with them, but may have to get some now.
@Austenista I got a sundae from DQ awhile ago and ate the entire thing so quick my husband questioned if I just tossed some out the window. {drive from DQ to our house isn't far either lol}
@becca_123 Don't give up on Pho! Like the others said, if its good then the broth is so flavorful and delicious. Even w/o the extras (which I do like) it shouldn't be bland! Not sure what kind you had, but I strongly prefer the beef (thinly sliced steak) over chicken. That's just personal preference though.
@Austenista I literally laughed out at "sexual experience" with soup. I didn't know chick-fil-a had soup but that sounds delicious! Our nearest one is almost an hour away and I made an excuse to go get a chicken sandwich and waffle fries in the first tri...soooo good
@amys614 I LOVE those animal crackers! Trader Joe's has a version (not animals, but flowers) that is an excellent and tasty knockoff.
@harveyabbey77 I have also weirdly craved fruit snacks during this pregnancy. I have been buying a box of Mott's brand fruit snacks (contains real fruit juice!! lol) almost every week.

@MoonOverGoldsboro Yes! I can't get enough fruity, sweet gummies. Gummy worms, fruit snacks, Skittles. Also just fruit in general and the Naked Juices. I'm normally an all chocolate candy kinda gal but that has gone by the wayside.
mmm Lemonade...at home Simply Lemonade (but apparently DH likes it too and keeps drinking all of it...I may need to put my name on it) and Chic-fil-A's lemonade. yaaasss
@harveyabbey77 Yaaaas to ALL THE GUMMIES! My mom just sent me a bag of only white pineapple gummy bears and I lost my damn mind. Sooo good!
Also, I was THE WORST pregnant lady today. I’m back in Missouri for work and there is a Jimmy Johns right across the street. I thought I was playing fast and loose with the rules by eating the turkey on my sandwich, but totally didn’t remember the effing lettuce warning until after I’d polished off the whole sandwich. I hope I don’t get sick, but it was soooo good. I wish we had JJ in NY.
@LaceyBee522 I'm not sure if I should admit this but I've been keeping a bag of the .99 cent gummy worms from Target or Walmart in my purse for the last few weeks for when I need a little sugar fix. DD just found my stash over the weekend and asked if she could have one of my purse gummies.
I've had three packages of ramen since yesterday afternoon (if I only use half the seasoning packet I won't have a heart attack for at least another week right?). Now I want gummies. And poptarts.

I’m having this day where if someone names a food I’m like, “omg I want [insert named food]!” Fortunately, I haven’t left the house or I would have probably spent a lot of money today on noodles, gummy worms, chicken noodle soup, avocado, fudge, and whatever this is that popped up in a Walmart ad tonight.
