@stephcat421 yes I hear ya. That carb sugar train is something fierce. That's why I try and add protein where I can now that I don't think it's so nasty. Im certain its impossoble for pregnant me to get too much protein. Its not what I crave, for sure.
@doxiemoxie212 those mocktails look amazing. And the soup! I need to get some good mocktails. The only thing I've had is a virgin bloody mary and some club soda with lime, so my game is weak. Your pictures are great!
Now that my MS has faded I felt comfortable opening up this thread for the first time but I think I just gained 5 lbs from scrolling through the food porn... can somebody post some pictures of celery sticks and hummus?
I'm not hitting 20 weeks until February 3rd but now I feel entitled to a pint of B and Js...
@sunshineandwhiskey ugh, the iphone X... lol. The camera is totally worth it, and I had a 6 before, so I was far enough behind the times that I felt okay justifying it. DH hates apple products, and he was totally hating on me when I said I was going to get the X, but now that I have it, he asks me to take photos of everything lol.
I feel ya @MissKittyDanger I have been raving vanilla shakes on and off this pregnancy, so hitting up McDs. Short of a DQ or Baskin Robbins... for fancy flavours I got NADA!
That being said there is a fancy handmade ice cream place near me that does a Cereal Milk Ice Cream, and a Bacon and Waffle with Maple Syrup ice cream that I am afraid to try. I have a legitimate fear of becoming obsessed, and then they discontinue the flavour! The Peach Cobbler one is a summer flavour only and I would kill for that right now.
Mama to a wonderful DD - Sep 2015, Wife to my DH since 2011, 2 dogs, a cat, and hoping to add No. 2 in May/June 2018. Canadian. 5 - IUIs, 3 - IVF retrievals, 2- failed transfers (fresh, and frozen), PGS on second IVF resulted in 1 perfect emby, and DD. 3rd IVF w PGS resulted in 3! perfect embys. 1st transfer - Sep 2017 2 more on ice.
I had macaroni and cheese for first lunch, and then a bowl of lettuce (we usually have salad mix, but are sorely lacking that right now) with balsamic vinegar for second lunch. I'm debating a third lunch of another bowl of lettuce because delish.
Gotta make up for not having second breakfast today.
@rnielsen321 Do you have any diner style places near you? They typically have the fun flavours I found the salted caramel there {thank you to the power of suggestion @krashke lmaooo}
I swear, dairy in general I've been having a lot of but chocolate milk and shakes are right now because I cannot justify getting an ice cream sundae/cone :')
@MissKittyDanger I've been super-obsessed with dairy. I'm usually lactose intolerant, but since getting pregnant, it doesn't seem to phase me at all. So weird!
@LaceyBee522 Oh I've never heard of that! Has it changed the way it affects you?
@izza2 We usually buy skinny carton of milk, but since getting pregnant we've had to increase the size with the occasional purchase of either more milk or chocolate milk between grocery shops lmao
@MissKittyDanger Yes. It basically doesn't have any affect at all anymore. I used to get terrible stomach pains and all the grossness that goes with that whenever I had milk or ice cream. Now, I get a little gassy, if anything. Being able to eat ice cream again is dangerous. Lol!
@LaceyBee522@MissKittyDanger ~ I am also lactose intolerant. When I was pregnant with DS, it virtually went away and I could eat all the dairy with no fear. It came back after delivery though. And when I got pregnant this time, I got excited thinking I would be off the hook again for a while. No dice. This pregnancy has had zero effect in decreasing my intolerance. I’m kind of bummed.
@BurlapandLace Ugh, that stinks that your intolerance didn't go away this time! I may or may not have been considering pregnancy FOREVER, just for the ice cream perks.
@MissKittyDanger - We usually go with half a gallon of milk and it lasts us until just before it would probably go bad. The only time we get more is if DSS is off school for a while (i.e.: winter break) and would be eating cereal for breakfast. I'm glad H picked up a gallon last time or I'd be SOL right now!
@MoonOverGoldsboro - I ate a corn dog when I was in the first few weeks of pregnancy (7 weeks I think?) and now it makes my stomach roll. Same with turkey and other things that I ate during those first weeks. I don't understand it, since it's not like I over-indulged in things, but... it's becoming inconvenient!
@izza2 The weirdest things stick with you, I swear. I threw up clam chowder during my first trimester and I feel fairly certain I'll never even be able to look at it again. During my last pregnancy, it was arugula of all things that just killed me. I brought an arugula salad for lunch one day during the first tri, then had to trash it. I am just now able to get anywhere near arugula again!

@izza2@MoonOverGoldsboro I have nausea associations for foods I ate in the first tri. and also for TV shows I watched, places I visited, blogs I read. Even dating back to my first pregnancy 4 years ago I have a couple things that make me queasy to think about. (A park I used to visit a lot for work and a blog I was into back then.) Nausea and memory are weird.
My pregnant co-worker turned me onto the Kettle chips Dill Pickle flavored chips......the good and bad thing is that they sell them here at our snack shop.
Haven't had Mac n cheese in years. Saw a box, and had to buy it. It's everything I imagined. I kinda could have finished the whole box.... but that'd be kinda gross lol

@doxiemoxie212 I'm pretty sure the rest will be gone by lunch tomorrow. And good to know! I'll try that... cause I'm also pretty sure another box will be making its way into my grocery cart this wkend.

I ate this entire plate just now after getting off work and all it did was make me more hungry. Now I'm laying here thinking what's next. Like I want real food but it's midnight.
@Murraydog those sound so good. Love Kettle chips, especially salt and vinegar!
@catlady1215 now I want mac and cheese. My favorite is the spiral shape. As if different shapes taste different ha! I don't know why but I like them best. We used to have a friend of the family that would make mac and cheese without the milk and use allllllll melted margarine instead. Can you imagine!
Ate the most massive plate of at least a dozen Pierogies last night. They are handmade with gourmet fillings and we get them fresh from our local market. Literally said to DH as I was eating, "So going to regret this in about 2 hours". And then the heartburn showed up....

@amys614 no I definitely think different shapes taste different. atleast the character kinds.. I don't think they're as good as the regular old shape at all! Don't think I've tried spiral!

@rnielsen321 I love pierogies. I buy Mrs T's to keep in the freezer. so good, but the onions I cook them with always talk back later in the day. I said not long ago that I want lent to start so I can hit up a fishfry (which I neeeever do usually). but the homemade, church lady, pierogies sound awesome also.

Do either of you ever use the lactose digestive aids? I use them ocassionally but as I've gotten older I find I tolerate dairy okay most of the time.
