no one has started this thread and it’s a fun thread to throw ideas around at each other !! We may have a while to go but it sure is good to start when you have no ideas!!
Top 3 boys names for us: 1. Logan Christopher (middle name is DH and FIL's middle name) 2. Gavin Dean (Dean is a family babe) 3. Mason Wyatt (my personal favorite of the three) Top girl names 1. Scarlett Elizabeth 2. Zoe Jane
Big sister's name is Rylee Grace so we'll see which one we're leaning toward when we find out the sex!
We had a girl name set in stone for over 7 years, so that’s decided: ruby Lynn. Ruby because of a long running joke when we were dating that our first child would be named rhubarb, and lynnfpr my mom.
I have henry Isaac and Rory now. Henry and rorys mn are for dh and Isaacs is for my dad. If it’s a boy, his middle will be Lynn - luckily it can be used for a boy esp in the middle because I don’t really have any other male names on my side that are better rhan honoring my mom.
We wont bother talking about boy names till we know the sex. We had a hard time with 2-3, and in the end I picked Rory’s name with the understanding that dh can pick a 4th boys name (with each other’s input and veto power). He used to like Sam so maybe that?
We have a girl name and a boy first name, but I’m stuck on a middle name. DS has an Italian first name and his middle name is Maverick. I can’t think of a middle name as badass as that. If anyone has any ideas I’m open to them. And no “Goose” we aren’t going for a Top Gun theme
We are team green again ! So we need to come up with both. Our boys name is set in stone. Sullivan (sully) Blaine ( Blaine for my dad)
I would say our girls name is about 80% set. Maeve Carolina. Carolina to keep our “ places” for middle names “tradition “ going. DD is Quinn Margaree ( where DH grew up). We honeymooned in North Carolina and just fell in love with it and plan to go back for our 10 year anniversary to renew our vows.
Girl we have Gabrielle which is set in stone but we’ve been back and forth with the middle. I’m thinking Raen is probably is probably what we’ll go with. No boys
@jmcooke25 - We've got a Gavin, it's such a classic name! @pghctwife - You've got such a great list and if your H does go with Sam that's a great name! @lalala2004 - Google spit out Knox, Garrett and Jett which are pretty bad ass! Plus with Jett you can have a "subtle" Top Gun theme @quinnsmom21 - That is such an awesome way to honor your relationship with a sweet middle name!
We had to battle for months to find a single name we agreed on for DS so I think we're screwed. It was literally the one and only name we agreed on the whole pregnancy.
@pghctwife I loled at Rhubarb! I could have named my baby girl rhubarb being i had my H sneak into the neighbors garden every night in the spring when I was pregnant to snag a couple stalks. I majorly craved it. Ruby is such a sweet name and love the backstory behind it!
What great names! I’m having twins and it’s already hard enough to think of names !!! But so far if it’s boy/boy or boy/girl it’s gunna be Lincoln and Lennox. No middle names at this point if it’s girl/girl I’m at a loss haha I love Amelia but it has grown so popular!
@quinnsmom21 Sullivan is our boy name too! That’s so funny since it’s not that common but I’ve been obsessed with it for like 2 years. We don’t have a middle yet and can’t agree on any girl names, we like S names in theory since our last name starts with S, but we don’t like any of the same S girl names.

@legallykate that is funny! You don’t hear it very often. My husband told me when we started thinking about #2 that he really liked the name and I fell in love with it too! I like the options for nm too, sully or van.
One “S” girl name we were considering was Shay/shea .... but we bought a house on “shea” Street so it feels weird now .
@quinnsmom21 I love Shay but my cousin named her baby that recently. I also love Sloane but don’t think it works with our last. I really like Scarlett but DH doesn’t and he likes Sasha but it’s not my favorite. Hoping we end up Team Blue and it’s a nonissue haha.

We have our girls name 99% picked out but not totally sure for a boy. Girls name is Irish, boys name likely will be too. If I have a boy I'll give him my maiden name as his middle name!
We had a girl name set in stone for over 7 years, so that’s decided: ruby Lynn. Ruby because of a long running joke when we were dating that our first child would be named rhubarb, and lynnfpr my mom.

We've had Clara for a girl and Michael for a boy picked for years, but now I'm all worried that the names won't fit when we meet our baby. I've been driving my husband nuts with name suggestions.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
DD1 and DD2 are Georgia Lorraine (Georgie) and Josephine Pearl (Josie) so if we have another girl, we are thinking about sticking with something classic or old-fashioned.
I’ve always loved the names Teagan and Oliver but DH shoots me down every time. I don’t think I’ll be able to wear him down! I love Claire and Elliot too.
My husband was dead set on "Bernard" for the boy, after Bernie Sanders, so the knickname would be Bernie. I don't particularly like the name but I like the man and I'm cool with that if he wants it, however last time I joked about it he was like, wait would you really let me name our son Bernard? So maybe he's joking? Middle name I want to be Ryannan, or Rhiannon-Ryannan is a mix of my bro and DH's bro's names, but I dislike when people screw with the spellings of already set in stone names so I might switch to Rhiannon like the song but with the same intention.
If its a girl, I think the first name will be Penelope ( nicknames: penny, nell), with two middle names, one for each grandparent. I also like Siobhan and Rhiannon as girls first names, but I dunno if I could con DH into those, plus they have poor nicknames which are important to me.
For a boy I think we will go with Lucas Alan. Not my first choice because I feel Lucas is rather common and I tend to like more uncommon names.
For a girl we had Kynlee Mae picked for the longest time however someone my husband knows just had a girl and named her Kynlee so now he doesn’t want to use that. My second choice is Ember.
Other names I like but my husband shoots down are Dallas, Emmett, Witten, Savannah and Charlotte. The only issue is Charlotte is too close to my name (Charlie).
I like Ava Quinn for a girl. I have also always loved Isabelle/Isabella, but they are both really popular. For a boy, I like Finn, Christopher, and Jakob. I like Grayson a lot too, but DH hates it. We already have Charlie, Julia, Sam, and Kai

I love Eleanor (Ellie) and Margaret (Maggie) along those lines, I would totally go the classic route if I could get DH on board!

I do love those names as well!
We also have Elizabeth, Rose, Dorothy, Judith, and Amelia on this list. It's still early so the list will probably get longer.
I love Madeline for a girl NN Maddi but I feel like it’s popular. I also love Savannah but DH has already said no. Middle name will be Jane after my mom.
For boys I love Spencer and Evan. I’d like the middle name to be Keith, after one of my brothers.
@msmonalisavito oh man, we are definitely name twins. Rose and Dorothy also on our list. And I TOTALLY agree about boy names. Everyone seems to be choosing classic boy names (Charlie, Jack, etc.). We have been tossing around Eugene and maybe calling him Geno (DH is Italian) but not sure if Eugene is mean for a kid lol.
@SmashJam Rhiannon is in our top 5 for a girl!!
We have nailed down a boy name as Maddox Lee. For girl names we have such a hard time, so I made a list of like 11-12 and had my coworkers vote. I’ll figure mn for the top 4-5 from their vote and the H has to pick from their. So far the top 5 are: Rhiannon, Arwen, Gwendolyn, Guinevere, and Fallyn.

@juliebird6 Eugene is our second-choice boy name! One of DH's friends that he lost on a deployment was named Eugene, so we wanted to name in his honor (though we'd mostly call him Gene- we're big 'Bob's Burgers' fans, which is why Louise is our first choice girl middle name).

I'm so glad to see so many fans of traditional names! I'm sick to death of all of the trendy cutsy, and sing-songy names.
Possible UO, and definitely snarky: I HATE kre8ive spelling when it comes to names, and it always seems like it's KVIIIlyn who gets salty with me for not spelling their name "correctly" without being told upfront. Sorry, but it's not my fault your parents wanted you to be "special" and didn't think you could pull that off with your personality alone.

I’ve not had much thought to middle names as yet, and as yet still don’t know whether to find out so have come up with mostly boy names. So far we both like Ollie or Griffin, and for girls Felicity or Leah. They will be half sister to Mila
