@princesslockness nice! Gwendolyn and Guinivere were pitched to us last time as girl names that were "better" then what we picked because they have a G and my sons name starts with a G. I love all your names!
Declan Lee for a boy, and we like Millie Leigh for a girl. DD has a mouthful for a name, but I loved having options for nicknames. Feel like I'll miss that with our current picks, but H keeps shooting down my other suggestions. Either way, Lee/Leigh is for my grandfather so that part is set this time.
For a girl our top names are Cassidy, Quinn, and Lorelei. We have a little boy right now and my husband doesn't even want to talk about boy names because he really wants a girl. Our runner up name for our son (his name is Wesley) was Quentin so I'm guessing that will be on our list if it's a boy.
We haven't even started thinking about it yet. We have two boys, Adam and Adrian, but I don't think we would do another A name. He or she will definitely have an East European middle name to reflect my heritage (my boys' middle names are Lucjan and Teodor).
We are set on a girl name already (and hoping it's what we are having)
Piper Ann
If it's a boy, we know his first name will be Jett, but we don't have a middle name there yet.
I LOVE Piper, (I have since watching Charmed in middle school, to be honest) but my last name starts with a “P,” so I’m unwilling to have initials be “PP.” DH was called “TP” (toilet paper) for a decent part of Elementary school.
@derbysquirrel You are not alone! I will alway flame the ‘younique’ spellings or smashed together names. Give your kid a name to stand up with, not your scrabble tiles.

I have a list of names I have been working on for a while. We like traditional, some vintage. I don't like trendy names. Our 3 yo DS is named Owen, and while I know that is SUPER popular in other parts of the country, it's like number 62 here. I don't know any other kids with his name. (When we went on vacation we met like 5 Owens, though. Lol.)
I really like Max for a boy, but DH thinks he needs a longer and more formal name, like Maximillion or Maxwell. I also like Paul, but DH has kind of vetoed that one. Eli has also caught my attention, but we are definitely still very in the brainstorming phase. DS is Tristan, btw.
For a girl, we've had a name forever: Aster. (Asters are a kind of flower native to where we live.) I really loved it, but now I'm wondering if we should think some more about it. I suggested Virginia to DH and he liked that one. I also really like Mary, after my grandmother, but DH really does not want biblical names (hence his aversion to Paul, as well.)
No clue on middles--DS's middle name wasn't decided until the night he was born, and I think that was only because DH felt sorry for me, being so overdue, he finally just let me do what I wanted, lol.

I love your girls list ! I’m partial to Quinn it’s my little girls name and she always gets compliments on her name
We'll probably wait until after we get the gender test back to even think about this. I have always felt girl names are harder than boys because they are trendier (IMO) so at least knowing the gender will help narrow it down
I’m having twins ! If it’s boy/boy or boy/girl it’s def going to be Lincoln and Lennox . If it’s girl girl. I have no idea. My SO wants matchy names and I DONT I want them to be their own individual! But I can deal with Lincoln and Lennox they both start with L but don’t rhyme or are not similar! I would really like to stay away from rhyming or matching names!! Girls names I’m dreading because he’s already thrown out so many cringe worthy matchy names. Like NO stop! lol
@rosettesandstripes Does your husband know any twins that can maybe help intervene? Every twin I know recommends no matchy names. Maybe talking to one would help him?
@bakerstreetboys my DS is Finn! Everyone always asks if its nickname... someone even asked me once if it was short for Finland?!
Haha, Finland?! I know Finn can be short for Finley or Finnigan, but we like Finn just on its own. My only hesitation is that our youngest has a one syllable name, so Finn may be too short to follow Kai. We love it though
@rosettesandstripes Does your husband know any twins that can maybe help intervene? Every twin I know recommends no matchy names. Maybe talking to one would help him?
I second this. My sisters are twins and one of them had twins (now 5 months old) and she won't even dress them in matching outfits. I know growing up they hated being called "the twins," etc.
@rosettesandstripes I'm a twin myself and SO thankful my mother didn't choose matchy names for us! It's already hard enough being an individual and not groaning at our baby pictures with us in matching outfits..lol.
I love everyone's names so far!!
*TW* For girls: I have always loved the name Ellie! BUT right before we got pregnant we suffered two losses. I was feeling really down and had picked up reading. I saw the name "Sparrow" in one of my books and kind of liked the way it sounded. I ran it by my DH that night, and he liked it too which is strange because I feel like we never agree on names! Anyways, so the very next day as I was walking into work, there was a sparrow blocking the front door to my job. It was literally just sitting there just looking at me. I got close enough to touch it. It didn't look injured..just looked like it was hanging out. When I opened the door (very slowly) I had to nudge the bird aside. I was so surprised to see it. I even googled it to see if it was an actual sparrow. We got pregnant the very next cycle, and I have always felt like it was a sign saying not to despair that our little rainbow baby was coming. Now it could have all been a coincidence, but I like to think otherwise .
For boys: Our son's name is Manolo (anyone see the Book of Life?) because my DH is Hispanic, and it is a very old traditional Hispanic name that really isn't used anymore. It's easy to say and spell which is important to me. It literally took us forever to think of that name. I already know if this one is a boy..were screwed, lol. I like the name Arlo so that might be an option for us this time.
I understand what people are saying about loving their child’s name so much they can’t imagine topping it, but I think I become interested in new names over time and right now I love girl names I wasn’t even considering when pregnant with my DD. Once we find out if it’s a boy or a girl, we will probably just know the name!
We have had the girl name picked out for years. We like Lilianna Maria. We can not even get close to deciding on a boy. I like Noah but it has gotten so popular.
DH doesn’t want to talk about names yet. I love my daughter’s name and feel like any girl name I choose will always be 2nd place. So I’m not sure.
I feel this way about girls' names, too. I love DD's name and had always planned on using that name for a little girl. Now that I have, I am having trouble getting attached to any other girl names. I don't have the same issue with boy names. I love DS's names but also have a list of several other boys' names that I would consider.
Names are the worst. We struggle to agree so hard. We agree in that we want more classic names and not trendy ones but the actual names are hard.
We agreed on Connor (DS) and Liam for boys last time so Liam will be on the list, and Clara or Claire for a girl so that’s on the list too.
I love Margaret (Maggie) or Eleanore (Ellie) for girls but he doesn’t. No matter what if it’s a girl the middle name will be Elaine. I don’t have any other boy names that he’ll even consider at this point. It’s the worst.
Were team green, but I’m thinking I might pull a trump card on the name this time around if it’s a girl.
August '18 March Siggy Challenge - You had ONE JOB
Our top picks for quite some time have been Freya for a girl and Elliott for a boy. We are team green! Keep in mind this was over the last tens years hubby and I have been together when I insist on discussing baby names, now that we're pregnant I think he may actually entertain these name convos a little more frequently so who knows what we'll come up with. Names I love that hubby does not (yet haha ) are: Alice, Hugo, James, Blythe, Hazel, Alma and Maeve.
So there is this app that works like Tinder(swipe right/left for yes/no) for baby names. You can connect with you S.O. and maybe find a match that way. It's called Babyname by Do Something Good
I'm a huge fan of classic old names for a girl. My mother, who died when I was 15, was named Frances so that will be the middle name if it's a girl. We're still kicking around options for the first name..
For boys, we're completely at a loss. H's friend named his son Henry, so that's out and that would have been my first choice. Middle name will be Michael after H's dad.. I'd love to name a boy with some kind of nod to a scientist (since I'm a physics teacher), so that might be Edison (even tho he was kind of a jerk) or Maxwell (I don't know if I like the 'Maxwell Michael' sound though...)
We are leaning towards Annabelle, my great grandmother’s name, or Oliver, my great-great-uncle’s name. I’m old fashioned. lol. SO already has a nursery design ready to go with Oliver tractors.

We downloaded this app and it is seriously addictive! DH and I met on Tinder so I think it would be super cute to pick the baby name this way

As of right now, we have a pretty set name for each, but who knows what will happen down the road. I had a great list of names I wrote down and promptly lost. Girl- Vera Mae (Vera is a family name and totally fits with DD1s old world name...)
Boy- Killian Shea (my sister goes by Shay as her nn, and the middle name would be in honor of her.)
@ecwk awesome! You never hear it around here and I love the way it flows with the middle made we've picked. We like Oliver, Milo, Flynn, and Finn but they are all so popular now. I don't want my child to be one of 10 Olivers in class, ya know?
