Also we started watching GOT again. We had watched like the first 6 episodes and picked up from there. I still have zero idea what is going on right now! And then the one we watched last night I'm like uhh am I watching porn or a show?
@sparklingdiamond google Roy Moore. He’s been accused by MANY women (I lost count) of molestation and sexual harassment when they were in their teens and he was in his 30s. AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES STILL BACKED HIM, along with roughly half the state.
@sparklingdiamond lol! Soooo, Jeff Sessions (former AL Senator, now the US Attorney General appointed by Trump) left a vacancy for a senate seat in Alabama, deep red/conservative, Republican territory. In order to fill the seat, the state had a special election: Rep: Roy Moore and Dem: Doug Jones. Last month, several women came forward alleging that Roy Moore sexually harassed and/or assaulted them while they were under the legal age of consent. His supporters basically said, "NBD, he was in his 20s, boys will be boys" and "I'd rather vote for a pedophile than a democrat!" Suffice it to say, creepy shit... THANKFULLY, some sanity lives in Alabama and the people voted for the stand-up nice, clean reputation Doug Jones 'even though' he's a DEM. Its the first time a DEM has won a senate seat in the state in over 30 years.

You guys...I guess this is more of a FFC. But why was the AL race such a big deal? Like I legit don't know what one of the candidates did? I guess I don't follow the news enough.
The GOP candidate Roy Moore has had a lot of allegations of sexual misconduct voiced against him and the more disturbing part is that they have involved underage minors.
I just need to give a shout out to all of the black people that saved Alabama's ass yesterday. Looking at the exit poll data, 67% of white WOMEN voted for Moore. All my noes. Thank God the ACLU stepped in to mitigate all the racist poll-blocking shit local govts were coming up with.
@sparklingdiamond well the election was held because Jeff Sessions became the Attorney General so it was his vacancy. It was a big deal because Republicans don't have that big of a majority in the senate so with a republican seat going to the democrats that is going to hurt the Republicans more in getting things passed as quickly. Plus Roy Moore who was the Republican running had been accused by 9 women of sexual misconduct and I think all if not most where underage at the time of the incidents.
Ugh @Mikkimikey that sucks. I got some tips from the ladies here, I also had two in early pregnancy, and they have seemed to help me! Drinking cranberry juice/taking a cranberry supplement, going panty-free at night, drinking a ton of water, peeing often, changing your underwear during the day or wearing panty liners and changing them frequently. Annoying stuff but these helped finally kick my UTI issues to the curb.
I do wear liners during the day (every day for the last 11 years!! (I have had two bladder surgeries and i leak all.the.time). I started the cranberry supplement two weeks ago. Hopefully that will kick in soon!
@sparklingdiamond, I will add on to the good explanations people have already given you by explaining the ramifications of the special AL election:
The House and Senate recently passed a super shitty tax reform bill that is entirely geared towards getting their rich buddies (and themselves) room to pay less taxes. This 500 pg bill was crammed through with very little review (I think they gave the public less than 24 hours to read it), and a lot of shady last minute hand-written shit was added to it literally an hour before it passed. Some of this last-minute crap was so poorly written that it in fact jeopardized the sweet deals they were cutting their buddies, so they panicked and it has been pulled back in for a re-look.
Here is where AL is important: Before going back for correction, this tax bill barely baaaarely scraped by, as the GOP completely bypassed ANY non-partisan input (IE completely ignored Democrats). They could do this because of their majority. Even losing one single Rep seat could put the entire tax reform bill into jeopardy. They might have to *gasp* work across the aisle, as the founding fathers intended (no single party was ever intended to strongarm the entire govt).
This could be FFFC worthy, but that’s 2 days out Along the same line as the randos... I get irritated with posters who never give Love Its. Is it just me, or is it not that hard to click once to acknowledge posts you scrolled past to post yourself (I know, reply jumps you to bottom - just sayin’)?
I decided to buy this dress for maternity pictures and I'm real curious to see what it ends up looking like in person. It seems to get pretty good reviews for the price but I'm like 99% sure it's coming from China so it should be interesting...
@sparklingdiamond can you post the link to where we can buy the shirt one more time? I know you said the deadline is Friday, and in case anyone wants to buy but doesn’t want to go dig up that link....

@Dumbgurl04 I heard the same. I figure that’s the reason for the relatively huge number of write-ins... conservatives who couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Moore but also wouldn’t compromise their pro-life position to vote Jones... which I totally respect.
Doing a total drive-by post because this day has been a clusterfuck, but here are my thoughts on the bolded: I absolutely respect the opinionof those that are pro-life (or let’s be honest: anti-abortion, because I have yet to meet anyone that is anti-life). We are all guided by different beliefs and that’s perfectly fine. However, I will never understand being unable to vote for a politician (like Jones) who does not want to force ANYONE to terminate a pregnancy — they just want to uphold the right women have to make the choice for themselves. I just can’t see where the moral compromise would be.
@kmalls I don't get it either. I don't see the moral equivocation of shrugging off the rape of children... because you want to save children? Huh? Save them for what? The raping society has ok'ed? Don't want to miss out on that!
@kmalls totally see that. I am staunchly pro-choice so I obviously don’t agree with anti-choice sentiment or politics but I do respect drawing the line at your non-negotiables and voting accordingly. All other things equal (i.e. the abortion issue was the only reason a person couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Jones), while I don’t agree with it I can see where they are coming from. I guess in the same way that I’d never in good conscience be able to vote for a candidate I otherwise liked but who did not believe in marriage equality, even if he/she did not plan to try to overturn the SCOTUS ruling or enact any other laws against it.
@mikkimikey Uuuugghhh sorry about your UTIs and need for maintenance antibiotics. I hope that the cranberry supplements are helpful too. Not to get all up in your business, but if you've got to be on any antibiotics long term, it might be helpful to also add in a probiotic like culturelle to help prevent yeast infections. You may already do this/ know this or your doc or pharmacist might have already mentioned it- if so, disregard my comment! I worked in a pharmacy for a long time and our pharmacists would always recommend culturelle with uti antibiotics (particularly macrobid or erythromycin- not sure if you are using either) since many ladies have their UTIs clear up and then end up with a yeast infection from them (happens to me every time). Annnnd ain't nobody got time for a yeast infection in pregnancy because monistat 7 is a big ol' drag. I hope you are free from any more urinary drama for the remainder of your pregnancy!
@JJMNO1616 Pretty dress! Where are you doing the pictures? (Outside or indoors?) I've had pretty good luck buying cheap clothes most likely from China on Amazon- only a couple of things I haven't liked in person. Hopefully you'll love it!
@kbamomma33 I found a photographer that is offering mini studio sessions. So it will be indoors with an all white background and probably some pretty furniture. I think we are also going to do lifestyle newborn photos in our house after the baby arrives.
This is an example she showed me of what it would look like:
@JJMNO1616 that is so gorgeous! I wish I could pull off an ethereal and delicate photo like that. If I tried that shot, it would be about as delicate and ethereal as a nice drape-cloth over a tank.
@JJMNO1616 that is a cute dress. Are you doing the light pink or doing one of the other shades they have? Should look great with that white background.
Agree about being baffled by people that found it hard to vote against a child molester all because the other was pro-choice.
@ngolimento I’m sure that’s not true! You would be surprised what magic a good photographer can pull off.
@Dumbgurl04 Yes, I went with the light pink color! I never wear pink like that so I’m a bit nervous but I think with the white background it will be really pretty.
My random for the week: MY NEW PUMP ARRIVED TODAY! I’m so grateful for awesome insurance! I also get a supply of storage bags every 90 Days so I should be able to order another batch around the time baby arrives!
Dammit. I don't want the internet turning into cable tv. "Either pay 1,000 a month for a million sites of infomercials and 2 sites you like, OR don't use internet!"
@sparklingdiamond I'm right there with you. Sometimes I know it's irrational, other times it feels 1,000% real until later when I'm like...crap, probably shouldn't have blown up over that thing I imagined was a problem.
Honestly it sometimes feels that they wanted to get rid of the net neutrality because it was something Obama did. It feels like the biggest reason Republicans want to get rid of certain things is because Obama start it or had a hand in creating it and they just didn't like Obama. Granted to know how true this really is it just feels like that.

I'm SURE that has something to do with it but I also think it's just about making it easier for companies to make more money. The GOP clearly doesn't care about what is in the best interest of everyday Americans from a financial standpoint, or medical, or.... ok I'll stop.

He also expressed nostalgia for slavery. He also used the terms “reds” and “yellows” to refer to Native Americans and Asians.
Alabama hadn’t elected a Democrat to Senate in 25 years so it’s a huge deal that Doug Jones won.
