Re: Weekly Randoms w/o 12/11

  • @krashke misery loves company! Lol. I had headaches with DS also. They did stop eventually. But a friend told me to try peppermint oil on my temples. I never did try it, but maybe next time I get to a store!

@stephcat421 I'm not a coffee drinker. But I thought of pop today. If only this baby enjoyed anything that tasted semi decently lol.

Just doing a little lurking and came across this in Feb. Remember that whole emotional don't know why I'm crying that's happening to a lot of us? I'm really sad for this situation, the poor baby :'( I wish momma could have gotten care all along for the LO

@stephcat421 She also posted in the November ‘17 board. January has had a couple doozies recently too.

@doxiemoxie212 @lisa2589 idk I sure hope it was made up. Her post on the November thread was by accident and was from 12/7/17  and then she moved her question to February...so it's not like she pulled the same stunt when she would have been 7 months in November (sept). I'd like to think things like this don't happen but I'm sure they sadly do :'(
  • @LaceyBee522 Yay! Great news.

I agree that we have a great, supportive group here!

  • @LaceyBee522 so great to hear!!
  • @amys614 sorry you’ve been feeling anxious :( I was feeling that way last week and it’s tough, but I agree, seeing these later losses recently just reminds you of everything that could still go wrong. I ended up buying a Doppler last week which has helped ease the anxiety so much! Creepy internet hugs
  • @izza2 so glad everything is okay and baby is doing well!! That sounds so scary!

@stephcat421 yes! I always follow up Tylenol with caffeine! Works like a charm!

  • So I'm scheduled to go for an elective ultrasound on Saturday to find out the gender of this babe (1...I'm impatient, and 2...hubs won't be able to make any of my doc apts due to work)...I want to be excited but I'm just not.  I went with DD at the same gestation (when I booked I thought I was booking a week later)...and they told me a boy when she is really a she.  Her girly bits were swollen so it looked like a little peanut.  If they say girl I'll 100% believe it, but if they say boy I just feel like there will be a shadow of doubt in my mind until the anatomy scan.  Am I nuts?
  • @kmurdock925 how far along are you?
  • @doxiemoxie212 - On Saturday, the day of the apt, I'll be 15 weeks exactly.  I was 15 weeks to the day when they told me DD was a DS.  They say they can tell at 14 weeks, and I know many people who have successfully found out at 14 weeks via ultrasound, but ugh.
  • @kmurdock925 well to be fair, they’d be right 50% of the time even if they were guessing out of thin air. I have no experience with this at all (FTM), but there is human error possibility for any ultrasound for anything, and even NIPT has a small margin of error. That said, I was told 16 weeks is really the earliest one can be confident the sex is accurate via ultrasound, but I’m sure there are some technicians that feel comfortable calling the sex earlier.
  • @kmurdock925 I can totally understand why you feel that way. you were already wronged once! fingers crossed for no errors this time.

....and can I say that your post gave me an idea, which I looked up and booked all within like 30 mins. I want to take DS to an ultrasound to see the baby wiggling around. annnnd now we're going on sunday morning lol. i'll tell DH to pretend this is my Christmas present ;) jkjk

  • oh and I should add that yes, this is mainly for DS. but a small part is absolutely for my PGAL brain.  yah i'll hear that HB on wed at my apt. and that anatomy scan is in like 3 weeks. but I neeeeeed to see my babbbbbyyy.

  • @catlady1215 - yes! ha, I have a reg ob apt today and go Saturday for the elective one, ha...although today will just be the Doppler, lol.  Your son will love it!
  • so in relation to much of the UO today...we were planning on taking a picture of our ultrasound nestled with the presents under the tree to use as our social media announcement on Christmas day, saying "Our gift from Santa wont be arriving until June 2018" but now I doubting it because apparently people don't care or like seeing other people's ultrasounds. We already put the one from 8 wks on the back of our Christmas card but that was only sent to aunts/uncles and close friends/family but we will hopefully have some good pics from our NT scan tomorrow.

  • @krashke As a confessed u/s hater, I will say that I think using an u/s picture as part of announcement is much different than posting pictures of your u/s like it's something I'm supposed to ooh and ahh over. Like, I might not care much about the u/s picture itself, but I'd care very much that you're having a baby. Does that make sense?

  • @MoonOverGoldsboro that makes sense and makes me feel better about it. I think it is also different because it's the first time people on social media will be hearing/seeing of the baby vs posting updates and pics every week and then people start to not care.

  • Ok obviously I'm bored but I hate it when people ask for advice and then shoot down everything thing people suggest. A friend asked for parenting advice on FB, and you know people love to give their two cents there, and everything people are suggesting she is saying something along the lines of yeah we've tried that. Then why are you asking advice!?!

  • @ffw0617 totally agree with this! I always offer to watch my nephew/take him for a few hours when I can tell my SIL is overwhelmed or needing a break. Her response is always “I might have to take you up on that..I’ll let you know.” but does she? Nope. then posts online how stressful of a week she’s been having.
  • @krashke I feel an US pic in your pregnancy announcement on social media is entirely different - it has a purpose and I think people enjoy make the connection by seeing the picture before even reading the text part.  Def do the pic with your announcement the way that you planned  :)

@krashke yeeees. That drives me nuts. You don't want advice, you just wanted to complain.

ETA: FWIW not everyone hates ultrasound photos. I think they're fine, and do like seeing them. I'm so used to seeing them in announcements, I think if I didn't see one I'd be like, "hey, where's my ultrasound?"  :D

  • @bkrahn never fails. Its like when women are pg and they post that here's a list of ppl I trust to babysit my child meme and then they beg for someone to give them a break after a few months! You know those moms that make motherhood look so easy 99% of the time they have help. Not saying give you baby to every tom dick and  harry. But those offers to help dry up. By the time this LO arrives my husband & I will have been together 7 years childfree, we've volunteered to baby sit basically every friend he has child/ children (bc lets be honests kids are really fun for about 3 hours then you can give them back). Outside of our godson we have never been taken up on that offer.

  • People asking for advice and then not taking it and continuing to complain is a huge pet peeve of mine.

I have a friend who kept coming to me for advice on the same two subjects, and I finally to her that if she didn't want to actually do anything to change her circumstances, she could stop asking me about it.

  • I think I got foodpoisoning from a cucumber. That sounds weird, but it's all I can think of. I bought one at the store and put it in my salad but it tasted wrong, so I didn't eat more. Now it's midnight and I'm stuck in the bathroom. Ughhh.
  • @May14th2011 oh no! I hope you feel better soon!
  • so I had to throw on actual clothes yesterday to take the wkly bump shot. and immediately changed back into pj pants and a big old shirt. DH was standing there when I changed my top. he looked at me and goes 'whats? whats.. that?' it was the full panel on my mat leggings that go all the way up to my boobs still (short torso!). :D lol. I told him I had the same ones for DS and he said he didn't realize they went up so high. I nicely told him that as I grow.. it won't be up to my boobs.

  • @catlady1215 I love that you got dressed for us- and your husbands reaction is something I can 100% picture my husband doing.  The confused face- the stuttered start to asking why I changed and what I'm wearing.
