My husband and I made a deal way before we got pregnant. He could choose the initials but I had complete control over the name. After vetoing initials like fuk and suk etc. he settled on luk. There aren’t too many L names I like and forget about U but I’ve settled on Lukas Urban
Lukas Urban is nice You’re a brave woman for agreeing to him picking initials lol! I had a friend who named their son Uriah, which I really liked.
So I'm super late to the game over here but finally ready to share! We've had our twins' names picked out for about 2 years, essentially since we started TTC. Since we did IVF and PGS, we've known that we were having a boy and a girl since the second we knew both embryos took. Our boy's name is Eliot Spencer and our girl is Leilani Ellen
Since we had out Gender Reveal yesterday I can share our name. We are going with Benjamin Ryan. I know Benjamin is quite popular but we both just really like it. Middle name was a little tough because we had a few and Ryan is MH middle but it was the one that just stuck.
I *think* we will end up going with Charlotte Marina (after my grandfather's mother's maiden name, but his all time favorite girl name, and I'd like to honor him). She'll likely be called Charlie, but I'm constantly adding names to my list which is: Evangeline, Emilia, Penelope, and my GP of Madeleine (pronounced Madelyn but I can't do the y) but fear that it will be mispronounced too often and DD2 will get made fun of because our last name rhymes with Madeline. DH wants to just name her now, but I want to see her before we decide.
I’m curious if anyone else is waffling on names now. For baby girl it’s Harper or Hattie, for boy it’s back up to Seger, Owen, Jagger or Miles. Maybe we take the list to the hospital and pick when we meet them.
@g_amoss always! It was worse with DD. I love Hattie, but DH doesn't like Hadley as a name with Haddie as a NN. We decided to wait till DD1 was born. I like to wait until I meet baby, but like I mentioned above, I would totally name this baby Charlotte, but it wouldn't feel right until I met her.
@g_amoss I was team green last time around. I had a boys name I was 100% on but probably 3-4 girls names with a definitive middle name picked. If I had picked ahead of time she likely would have had a different name and i'm glad it ended up being an after birth decision.
@Dumbgurl04 I think Benjamin Ryan is such a great name. I think it's nice you're incorporating your husband's middle name. Benjamin is also one of our choices for a boy's name!
@g_amoss We are still deciding our choices for boy and girl names.. You are not alone. I really love all the names you are deciding between, especially Hattie and Miles. I think it would be kinda nice to wait until you meet them to decide.
@g_amoss completely undecided so you are not alone!
We had a boy name for years, then this weekend threw out a new option everyone at the table loved, except me!! And we have a long list of girl names.
Sidenote: I was watching the great British bake off and one of the girls names was Benjamina. All I could think was that was a mom who loved the name Benjamin, then had a girl. Lol
@peppersmith22, I think first and middle names starting with the same initial would be fine. Especially since you don’t use the middle name regularly. I think it would just depend on the actual names put together.
Good point @sjn00 ! I really love the names we picked out so I don't want to tell anyone what they are and jinx myself but they aren't the same amount of syllables and the sound at the beginning isn't quite the same so I think it will be ok. It's not like Annabelle Ann or anything
Lillianna Joanne for a girl, which we had picked out the last pregnancy. Boy names are so much harder for us though. SO sorry down my favorite boy name(Weston) and wants to use Benjamin (my brothers name) which will be confusing for my sons. I*think* we've agreed on Rowan but middle names are down to Benjamin, Paul, and Michael (all family names)
@g_amoss We're waffling too. For a girl we narrowed it down to two names almost right away. But we found out it *is* a girl last week and since then we've come up with about a hundred more names and now can't choose at all.
My favorite girl's name has been Catherine since forever and I was pretty set on it for this LO, but now she just somehow doesn't feel like a Catherine. Now I'm leaning toward Nora or Amelia (nn Millie?) but there are also a lot more on the list.

I am partial to Rowan (DS is Rowan), so I think that’s a great pick! Rowan Paul and Rowan Michael sound really great (Rowan Benjamin is nice too, I just like the others more).
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
I thought deciding on a name would be painless, it’s not lol. I’m loving Charlotte, my BF hates it (the name reminds him of a coworker ) so then we moved onto Harper, Miren (which we both love! It’s different and when I worked in retail I had a regular that would come see me to buy makeup and that was her name), and Vivien. Middles names have been narrowed down to Mae and Katie though, so it’s just figuring out from there
Gosh i am so torn about names! We had Lucy lined up if baby was a girl but since he's a boy...we never were able to decide on a boy name in the past. It's the primary reason we didn't put too much effort into names until oir scan.
We have decided that we like classic names best. We have names like Henry, Matthew, Christopher, Anthony and George on our list but none scream at me. Our girls names jumped off the page at me: Sophie and Emily (who we call Emmy). This is hard!!
I'm in the same boat but other end. We had our boy name ready to go but we're having another girl so we are stuck. DH and I are not agreeing on girl names lol. I'm a teacher so I veto a lot of names for that reason and DH seems to like common names. Back to the drawing board!
Well I slipped and found out we are expecting another girl so I have so much relief that I can quit deliberation over boys names! I was pretty well set on Eleanore Viola for a girl but Dd (who’s 6) is insisting that the baby’s name is Charlotte. I may just give in on that one! I’ve always liked the name and dd loves it! Charlotte Viola or Charlotte Catherine are the middle names in the running.
We decided on our names pretty early on. My bf's dad passed away pretty unexpectedly and they have a family name that has been passed down so if its a boy his name will be Gwilym James (Gwil - Um, this is how its pronounced) he is British so its very unique. I am still getting used to potentially having two Gwilym's in the house. If we have a little girl her name will be Penelope Alise. I absolutely love both names and cannot wait to find out which it will be
We are stuck between Vanessa Blake and Gabriella Maxine for our girl, but at least we've narrowed it down to those! Would love to hear opinions!!!
Gabriella is a pretty popular name so I would go with Vanessa Blake!
I agree about its popularity, i just love the name! We are thinking about shortening it to Brielle and just using that. It's what we would call her-Thoughts?
@sassygirl51486, I like both names but I'm not as excited about nicknames for Gabriella. I'm super into both Maxine and Blake. Not sure how helpful that is.
We just found out we're having a girl. I want to announce our name soon but I'm afraid of wanting to change my mind about it sometime before April (I'm pretty fickle). As of now, both DH and I are set on Ruth Miyeko. Ruth after RBG and Miyeko after my grandmother. Anyone else change your mind at the last minute?
@keeksie84 I'm preparing for the possibility that we will change our minds at the last minute, too. We aren't telling anyone the name we pick and will announce after he's born. Tonight, I think we FINALLY decided on Brady William. But, we are keeping a couple other favorites in our back pockets.
@keeksie84 dh and i had decided on our dd's names very early on and told people. I remember i had some doubts as we got closer to delivery. We stuck w our choices and are very happy. But really, what's the worst that can happen if you do change your mind? No use a few monogrammed pieces?
We finally have some boy name contenders on our list: Jeremy, Tyler, Alex, Brian, Cole or Noah.
I wish we were even close to a name for baby girl. Last time we didn't name our son until days after in the hospital. I don't want to do that again. I had some name regret after naming him but I think it was mostly hormones.
I now am loving the name Juliet, which DH can't stand. So I suppose baby is going to end up being Charlotte unless she looks otherwise at birth. Why are girl names so easy for us yet make me even more indecisive?!
Pronunciation question: my DH loves the name Asha. We barely agree on any girls names and it's growing on me. Would you pronounce that name with a long "aah" like "Natasha" or like Ash- a (rhymes with Cash)? Or something else? I think the former is pretty but I don't want the kid to constantly have her name mispronounced so I wonder if spelling it Aasha would help. Appreciate your thoughts!

@sassygirl51486 Another vote for Vanessa Blake. I really like that combo.
