@smorzandoj I always think someone is going to steal my packages. It happens!
I got put on partial bed rest. I’m only allowed to work 20 hrs a week and on top of it my dog is very sick. We don’t know what’s wrong with her but she is in pain and won’t leave my side. We are taking her to the Vet at 2.
After having my salary decreased to 44%, I selfishly hope she just ate too much and has a tummy ache. I have an emergency pet credit card for her but I really don’t want another bill.
I also got my appointments bumped up to weekly visit along with physical therapy and they can’t coordinate it to the same day so now I’m spending more money in gas to drive an hr each way for each appointment.
Sitting at my desk after 1 hour glucose screen and I feel gross. I didn't have time to grab food after. Thank God I have a lunch meeting in 30 minutes.
Just sent bossman my appointment schedule through Dec (I need to go 2x a week) and asked for those corresponding days plus one more to work from a different office location. Hopefully he says yes and I won't have to drive an hour each way to HQ every day!
My love tit is a hug, @SunflowerMama428. Sorry to hear about your pup. We had a scare on Thanksgiving that pushed us to get pet insurance for catastrophic stuff, because the quote we got for a surgery that he thankfully didn't need scared the bejeezus out of us. I really hope it's something that will pass!
@smorzandoj Sadly, package theft is common in my neighborhood (we live in a high density area and I think thieves actually target our neighborhood). Can you call a neighbor to pick it up for you?
I just read a Buzzfeed article that said there's a place in Costa Rica that is essentially a giant dog sanctuary and park, so you can go hiking while accompanied by 970 dogs. I want to go to there.

@chucksmom15 I couldn’t get out of bed on Tuesday. I called my doctor because the pain was horrible in my legs and I was having some contractions. The contractions subsided on their own but they think my sciatic pain is causing to much stress on my body. I have to wear a brace when I’m out of bed and I’m only allowed to go to work to do office work. I start physical therapy on Wednesday.
im already going nuts. I had to take all last week off from work after Tuesday and my job gave me the first half of the week off so I can rest more. At least me and DS will get some quality time together.
@eggplantface this pup actually ate pin needles when she was 6 months old and thankfully we took her to the vet right away so they just put her to sleep and sucked out the pins but we got the pet credit card then. I haven’t had to use it in almost 5 years. So I agree with your choice to get pet insurance. Things get pricey fast!
@SunflowerMama428 I’m so sorry to hear about your pup. I hope the vet visit goes okay. We have puppy insurance on all our dogs. Our first pup got cancer and the puppy insurance paid for all of it. It’s totally worth it to get puppy insurance if you can.
*TW* I saw over the weekend that Meatball lost their surviving twin boy, Abraham. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family during this difficult time. I could not imagine what she must be going through right now. I saw you guys started something to purchase her flowers for Shepard's funeral. I would be interested in helping her out any way possible, if someone could let me know. So many HUGS to her! *END TW*
@smorzandoj We get our packages delivered to my mom's house because our apartment complex is like a 25% chance we'll get it. I can't wait to move out of here!
package theft sucks! I’ve lost two in the past four months. This one would just make me blow my lid bc it’s not a cheap item! My neighbor will take it in when he gets home but it won’t be until like an hour before I do. So I’m praying!
And....sunflowermama....sorry bedrest sucks. :-(
And @clc515 I hope your boss helps you out. I start going 2x a week this week. Luckily it’s my ultrasound week though so I can have the appointments on back to back days and not miss much time bc of having a late PM and early AM appointment. My boss is already on my case about leaving early and coming in late for appointments.
@jenniferjoy37 Do you know off the top of your head what pet insurance company you used? H found one (something with "pet" or "dog" in the name) that was highly rated and covers 80% of everything except preventative care after the $250 deductible for $57 per dog per month. Nationwide is what my brother has and he gets a percentage of coverage based on the procedure (so cancer might be covered at 80%, while his dog ripping off a claw was only covered at 50%), but we'd prefer one percentage across the board.

@meatballs37 if you read this, I am praying for you. I can't imagine what you are going through, but you've been amazing through all of this. I've been praying for you all every night and will continue to during this difficult time. God bless you. ❤️
The pup is ok! Just back sprain. She’s a dachshund so a little more sensitive. We got her meds and she should be better soon!
I was just talking to a friend of mine whose dachsund had a similar issue! She had a pinched nerve in her spine that required surgery and the vet said it’s a common ailment in dachshunds.

@chucksmom15 I don’t think I ever really mentioned it! My dad use to breed them and train them for service dogs and then sell them cheap to help out families. when I moved out I got a dachshund because they are so lovable fun little personalities. I love this breed. We are going to get a bigger dog when the kids are older but will probably always have a dachshund in tow.
@eggplantface that’s what I was worried about. They have so many back problems! The vet said she isn’t so young anymore so we have to start paying more attention to her back.
Guys. I love you all, but we need to keep Meatballs condolences, etc to a Meatball thread. If she wants to comeback on and just read randoms and not read that thread at the moment she doesnt need bombarded with condolences in the randoms. Other moms have expressed it’s hard for them to read the more in the randoms as well. Please be respectful of this.
I know everyone’s heart is in the right place, but sometimes we unintentionally cause more hurt than good.
@eggplantface DH just said it was through Allstate for puppy insurance. I guess it’s petinsurance.com. They were amazing with our little Aspen’s cancer. We pretty much just paid the deductible of $200 or $250 and were covered.
@SunflowerMama428 I'm glad your dog is going to be okay! So sorry you're going through all of this pain - I hope you are able to find some relief soon!
@SunflowerMama428 , I am so so glad to hear that your pup is okay! Worrying about them is so hard. I know our dog is a member of our family, like many feel, and I'm sure it's a relief to know she's okay. I hope you can rest and take care of yourself- feel better!
Ours are 17 and 10 so we have been dealing with bulging discs for a while @SunflowerMama428. So far we have been able to control their issues with anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers when it flares up. Hopefully your pup will respond to the treatment and be good to go. Unfortunately back problems are just dachshund maintenance but they are worth it. I love their personalities! Chuck thinks he is a dachshund too. He tries to burrow lol.
@chucksmom15 those meds are what she is on and the vet discussed with us the bulging discs so we are definitely going to watch her more now and not let our family pick her up all the time. I think at thanksgiving someone ether dropped her or picked her up wrong. We are hiding her in our bedroom for Christmas lol
I'm so happy that DD had one solid poop today! For about 5 1/2 days she was having liquid/newborn like poop and nearly tripled the amount of diapers she was going through. I couldn't take her to the doctor because other than that she was acting like her normal self.
@smorzandoj I had a dream about your stroller last night. Hope it was there when you got home.
Lol sorry gotta love pregnancy dreams! It was there. The attachments came in another box at 10pm though so I was starting to freak out. THat they were gone.

Okay this is going to sound odd question but... does your DD eat peanut butter? My son has a very weird “allergy” to peanut butter where he isn’t actually allergic to it BUT if he eats more than a tablespoon of peanut butter in one day... he has the same issue. It’s super odd and the pedi can’t even really explain it other than to say he’s mildly intolerant. I wonder if there is something she has eaten in the past week that might have caused it? I’m glad she seems to be more “regular” now!
Re: Weekly Randoms 11.27-12.2
@smorzandoj I’m sure it’ll be okay! Don’t worry about it, no one will steal it! Positive thoughts!
