I'm so happy that DD had one solid poop today! For about 5 1/2 days she was having liquid/newborn like poop and nearly tripled the amount of diapers she was going through. I couldn't take her to the doctor because other than that she was acting like her normal self.
Okay this is going to sound odd question but... does your DD eat peanut butter? My son has a very weird “allergy” to peanut butter where he isn’t actually allergic to it BUT if he eats more than a tablespoon of peanut butter in one day... he has the same issue. It’s super odd and the pedi can’t even really explain it other than to say he’s mildly intolerant. I wonder if there is something she has eaten in the past week that might have caused it?
I’m glad she seems to be more “regular” now!
My oldest dd had this issue with poppy seeds when she was little. Not an allergy or a sensitivity,  but it gave her weird watery poops that caused a rash.  Once potty trained  it wasn't an issue (the rash ), i believe she still has the same bowel issues now,  but she likes poppy seeds and handles her own toilet needs (she's 14) so it's her choice.

Did your dd eat something new?

  • @SunflowerMama428 I’m glad your pup is ok! I hope PT brings you some relief soon!

Im headed to the vet for our dog at 3pm. He has a growth on his hind leg that was aspirated last year and it was ok, but it’s tripled in size. He also has a cloudy spot on his eye :( I’m hoping it can all be cleared up easily. Getting pet insurance was one of the best things I’ve done. @eggplantface I use PetPlan. I dont love that the payments go up every year, but they are so easy to deal with and I’ve never had a problem.

Question re: pantyhose: are there maternity pantyhose or will regular ones still fit? I have An event tonight and didn’t even think about until now!

I have a sensitivity to eggs.  I don’t have a full blown allergy, but just a few weird side effects if I eat too much.  Hopefully, you can narrow it down for DD and it is manageable.
  • @babybro218 I haven't attempted to put on regular pantyhose, but I got some maternity hose at Target that were relatively cheap and comfortable. You might be ok with regular though, the top is pretty stretchy. Also I hope your pup is ok!

  • Super, super random...

I have a co-worker that normally works from home so I’ve never seen him.  Well, I did today and damn if he isn’t Bob Ross reincarnate.  Bob Ross always made me happy and I am happy just seeing this guy.

I had to Google Bob Ross....but I still don't know who this guy was.
  • @TattoosandLace Yay!! That's so exciting!!  :)
  • @TattoosandLace that is awesome! What a series of happy surprises!
  • @mamaof5already and @amb929 that's the most difficult part is figuring it out because she hasn't eaten anything new! It's back to being really loose again so I'm going to have her eat a banana every day for a little while since that's what helped in the first place. The only thing I can think is that my milk has changed just enough recently. I've cut her nursing sessions to nap time, bed time, and when she wakes in the middle of the night.

@TattoosandLace that is extremely exciting! What a nice string of surprises to get.
  • How exciting, @TattoosandLace ! Congrats on being so close!!
  • I had my 30 week appointment today with an ultrasound and damnit if this little bugger isn't breach. I know there's still lots of time for him to turn but now I'm going to be obsessing about a breach vaginal delivery and external cephalic version.

I would start looking at spinning babies. My son flipped at 37 weeks

@gymmonkey95 colostrum has laxative qualities and can cause loose stools in nursing toddlers.
My son only nurse once every few days now but his stools have been a little looser since my milk switched

  • @GoogleMD how were you able to tell that it changed?
  • Find out I’m one class short of my degree today (thought I was 3-4). Also found out that I can take the remaining class online during a half semester block after the baby is born. Also found out that I potentially qualify for a $1,000 scholarship which would almost cover the class.
    What's your degree in?

  • Thanks @eggplantface and @chucksmom15! I ended up passing a Destination Maternity on my way home and got a pair of pantyhose there. They did roll halfway down my butt on the walk to the event, but after an emergency adjustment in a restroom on the way, they were pretty comfortable.

Iggy has an ulcerated mass on his leg that seems benign and lipid deposits on his cornea. For now I was told to keep an eye on both and look for changes. Hopefully they both resolve on their own.

    Congrats @TattoosandLace! Such great news!
  • Are they going to have to remove the mass on his leg of it doesn't go away @babybro218?

Bob Ross was an artist that had a show on PBS called The Joy of Painting. He was definitely a product of the 70s.  He was super mellow.  He seemed like he was stoned out of his mind all the time, but probably actually wasn’t.  He believed anyone could paint and made techniques really accessible.  He painted “happy little bushes” and “happy little clouds” and would say a “happy little tree wants to live right here”.  This is what us old people had to watch when we got home from school when we were little because they only had cartoons on Saturday mornings.

@TattoosandLace. Awesome news about your class!

ETA: you have to watch out for that autocorrect.
  • @Aeml1985 both my boys were breech into the final month. Spinning babies was something I did, too, and no external version needed :)
  • Aeml1985 - Spinning babies is a great resource to help get baby into OFP and turn them vertex. Being consistent helps a lot. I started doing the inversion and knee-chest exercises around 33 weeks with my ds2 and he was vertex at 35 weeks. And similar with my dd3, though I also had the Webster adjustment done a couple times between 33-34 weeks, and when she was confirmed vertex, by 35 weeks, I pretty much sat/rolled around on my birthing ball exclusively or lied on my left side to help her engage in my pelvis (helps reduce position changes). She was at 0 station at 37 weeks.

  • Are they going to have to remove the mass on his leg of it doesn't go away @babybro218?
Only if it grows or changes or starts to bother him. They aspirated it and said it was unremarkable. Since it looks benign and is acting benign and isn’t bothering him right now, they aren’t worried about it. The Dr we saw wasn’t our usual vet, but he was very thorough. so I’ll keep an eye on it. If it changes I will call back and if not, I will ask his regular dr at his yearly exam.
  • @GoogleMD how were you able to tell that it changed?
My son said around 22 there was no milk “” booboos are broke”. He says he is getting juice now, I was able hand express a little and it looks like gold on colostrum instead of regular milk. I only nurse on 1 side and the side that had stopped producing is leaking a little
  • What an awesome surprise @TattoosandLace !!

Glad your 28 week appt went well @rainafire77!

Hmm...I wonder if it's something that you're eating that is different or that she's become sensitive to? I hope that the banana works. If it continues I might put a call into the pedi just to be sure. Good luck!

@TattoosandLace Congrats! I read your post wrong the first time and thought they ADDED three/four classes and you only had one to go! I'm glad that I misunderstood! That's awesome. Congratulations on being so close to completing your degree. I finished my Master's about 2 weeks after my DS was born and it was an amazing feeling to be done with school! You'll have so much to celebrate soon  :)

@mamaof5already I've actually have a friend with something similar with poppyseed. She's an adult and they still can't figure out why it happens. Her doctors gave her a blanket diagnosis of IBS because it happens with poppyseed a few other foods. Hopefully it doesn't bother her enough to have to avoid the food but as you said...she's old enough to make that choice. Bodies are so weird. My son has VERY sensitive skin/eczema and some allergies to trees/pollen which might be accounting for the weird peanut butter digestive problems but we really have no explanations. I imagine he inherited it from me, I have a positive allergy test to peanut butter on a blood draw but negative on a skin test. I eat peanut butter without problems. So who knows.
  • I came home from PT and my dog was dragging her back legs. We are rushing her to the emergency room but they think she damaged the nerve in her back. :( I thought she was getting better but the doctor said that sometimes it just takes a wrong turn during healing to make things way worse.
  • Oh no @SunflowerMama428!!!  I hope everything is ok.
  • Sending you positive vibes @SunflowerMama428 - Keep us updated!
  • @SunflowerMama428 Sending you and your pup so much love!  I hope everything is ok.
