@kiwi2628 & @adirat THANK GOD. That makes me feel better. Thanks for calming me. Are there any recommendations (lifestyle) I can do to keep it at a good level? I looked back and a year ago it was 3.5... so I don't want it to go back that direction.

@KristoKekerooni My endocrinologist recommends two dietary changes:
Make sure you use iodized salt instead of sea salt. Iodine is a mineral that supports your thyroid and is rare in our diets (unless you eat a lot of seaweed and ocean vegetation...which I do not).
Avoid soy products, as soy can mess with your thyroid function (this is entirely reversible but basically my endocrinologist said that soy interferes with your hormones and your TSH/T4/T3 circulating levels). You may already do this since I know many people who are TTCIF avoid soy anyway.
Related, @KristoKekerooni it seems crazy to me that your Vitamin D levels would still be so low. Could it be an absorption issue? Have you tried different types of supplements?
@KristoKekerooni I second @adirat that number is great for TSH I keep a spreadsheet where I input the BW results from all different doctors and over time. It's amazing the different normal ranges that can get quoted depending on the lab used each time. So although you can look for general info, you should consider the specific labs normal ranges too. And assuming it's a lab your RE normally uses he should be familiar with how their normal ranges compare to standards Just before you freak out at some of the numbers too much... (and this is definitely a case of do as I say not as I do lol as I freak out and over analyze every time!)

--leaves for a few hours. a million new posts-- @purplg8r Oh my goodness, how scary! I guess it's good that your doc feels good about it, but seriously, don't we have enough to deal with! I wish I had insurance advice for you. I'm trying not to even think about our insurance coverage changes in February and I am dealing with it by ignoring it, like a mature adult. @KristoKekerooni YAY! What awesome news. I'm glad you found someone who is on it and is going to get your IVF process rolling right away. (You are always totally welcome to take a trip out here to get your vitamin D levels up. Totally for medicinal purposes of course. Hee hee.) Sometimes getting the right doctor makes you realize how incompetent the others can be! @kiwi2628 I am so, so, so glad that they got that worked out for you. (Again, aren't we under enough stress as it is? Why do they toy with our emotions like this!) I agree--stick it to the insurance companies after all the hoops they've made you jump through to even get to this point. @beachbunnyxo123 I know it can be hard to be your own advocate, but if you feel like this is not the right person to be able to get the job done, I would openly share those concerns. Would you be able to send an email with your concerns so you can word it out the way you want to before sending it off? @Avrilmai Heck yeah for making sure that they did your testing! I know it's not easy to insist on it when they just want to move onto the next step. @adirat That's excellent that you have an extra embryo. Our RE office said they would hang onto any mosaics and event implant them if couples got to that point. (There was every someone who came to our first general information meeting who somehow knew that he was mosaic. Pretty cool!)

@50Wife unfortunately he works until 2am so he won't be here. I thought about going to a friend who is a nurse and having her do it but I thought I should prob get used to it.
@KristoKekerooni oh hell now about your previous OB. I'd be so freaking pissed!!! But yay about this guy!! So glad he's on top of things!!
@kiwi2628 yes!! I'm so glad the insurance screwup got fixed AND they're going to help you work around the timing! It's on!!
@beachbunnyxo123 this is my first injection!! As for you, I'm not confrontational at all but I would put it just as you said, kind of in a joking tone so that it seems light hearted but he has an out if he's not confident.
so so had my follie check today. Left follie (where I always feel it) was 23. Lining was 7.16 and estrogen was 139. They said I'm good to go for trigger tonight. Does anyone have any insight to my lining & estrogen levels? (They're good enough to go but are they pretty normal?) also, when I asked they said I'll ovulate 36 hours after the shot but to test 2 weeks from today and they want me to come in next Wednesday for progesterone test which would only be 5dpo. Does that sound right or should I call back and ask to come in next Friday?
Girls! This thread went wild while I was gone for a day and a half!! Love tits everywhere!
@purplg8r My office wants my lining over 7, which yours is, so they would say that is good. I'm of no help with the estrogen.
AFM: appt today went well. I didn't overstim!! Yippee! So I have three follies on the right 22-24 and everything was good with bloodwork. They still think I am several days away from O so I am going back in on Friday for another scan and BW. Of course all of it will run into my school this weekend, but this is bigger, so my teacher will have to understand that life happens. MH typically doesn't come to my appts because they are in the morning and before I go into work, but he has to come with me Friday because he has to sign off that he is okay with me receiving donor sperm and will accept responsibility of the baby as his own. Interesting. So he will get to see what goes on. I am thinking IUI will happen this weekend. I know I just got BW today and everything was good, but I keep feeling pressure in my right ovary and it makes me worried all the time that I am ovulating!

@shortstack930 shit, I am so sorry! I have to say that if IVF were currently an option for me, I'd probably do it now just to get it out of the way. I know it's a huge fucking pill to swallow. HUGE! But if it'll save you guys money in the long run, I say chat with your RE now about a possible next step. And +1 to my RE not starting any new cycles after about the first week in December. So they don't do any IUIs, retrievals or transfers from about mid December until after the first week in January so I'd also ask your office about how their schedule looks around the holidays. That may almost make your decision for you. Good luck either way. None of this is easy!
@RVAmom315@emmasemm@kiwi2628@Avrilmai@adirat@madspunk@antoto@purplg8r@50Wife Thank you all for the kind words and advice! DH and I had a talk tonight and decided that we are going to speak with the RE and see what we can do about moving forward. I sent her an email tonight to discuss our options. Most likely AF will be here tomorrow or Friday so I don't know if we would start as soon as this cycle, so we may end up doing one more IUI and moving on to IVF at the end of November, depending on what the RE says. I'm so grateful I have this community. And also the best mom ever. I called her this afternoon to chat and ended up just breaking down crying and saying "I'm not pregnant". She said "I'm hanging up the phone and coming over right now" and was at my house in under five minutes to comfort me. She told me that we will make this happen, even if she and my dad have to pay for IVF/adoption/whatever out of pocket. I'm so grateful for her and to have a great support system.

FYI - STILL NO AF! WTF?!?!??! I even told SO if he could kick me in the uterus to get this going that’d be greeeaaat! We had a good laugh then meant to have sex, again, but I fell asleep watching tv. Yup we’re those people we might as well be in rocking chairs!
@purplg8r Such a tough call. I really don't know what I'd do if I were you, but I'm really bad when it comes to ponying up money in advance, before I know I need to. Looking back at my own past year, I wish I had put more in my FSA and had got the highest tier for insurance.
@shortstack930 What a nice mom! I'm glad you have such a kind woman in your life.
@JuneRoseRuby What a relief that you didn't overstim! GL this weekend!
@shortstack930 gotta love an awesome mom! I'm glad you live close enough and she was able to come over to comfort you. Sometimes you just need a mom hug and to cry it out.
@JuneRoseRuby eek!! I hope everything goes well this weekend!! I hope this is it for you guys, good luck!!
@shortstack930 another person who's clinic doesn't do December cycles. My clinic also only does so many IVF cycles at a time so they typically have a 1-2 cycle wait from your deciding to do IVF to actually scheduling you to start cycling.
@purplg8r I'm sorry I'm no help on the lining questions. How did the trigger shot go? (afm, yes, if i don't eat before a blood draw I get a little dizzy, this was the first time I thought I might really pass out)
@shortstack930 you mom sounds like an amazing support. What a big decision to have made, I hope the RE gets back to you soon.

@adirat , I bet soy is why it's better. The last tie it was checked it was over three, and that was only a year ago. I have been avoiding soy now for a while... that would make sense. Interesting. And yeah, I have an issue absorbing vitamins from food. Most of my vitamins are low, actually. Something about my lining not being receptive. Apparently it's also why I am a little heavier, considering I was always tiny as a kid. My body tries to get the nutrients, so it holds on to fat trying to leech them, but my body isn't good at it, so most of it is wasted. Or something like that... biology isn't my strong suit. Vitamin D is the hardest though. Potassium gets iffy, but VD is the absolute worst.

Related, my MIL wants us to name a baby after her (Victoria). Which is not going to happen, ever. But I told her that the reason is because then the baby's initials would be VD which is a dealbreaker.
Question ...called my nurse this morning Bc I still haven’t gotten AF! She told me she had my blood work and apparently my AMH level is 4.17 , as far as I know I do not have PCOS. I am 37 and REALLY thought that number was gonna be much lower. Everything else looks good I’m a little deficient in Vit D, but barely, and my Rubella came back equivocal.. and they’ll test again in 2-4 weeks.
Anyone else here with a higher AMH level who doesn’t have PCOS? If so, I’m wondering at my age 37 is this number normal?? I’m driving myself nuts googling, just hoping someone else here may be in the same boat.
I am still waiting for AF to do my CD 3 tests and guess we’ll find more out then.
@adirat - Funny enough, it's something autoimmune, they "think." At first they thought it was celiac's, but the scope made them think otherwise. I did gluten free for several months, thinking maybe it was atypical, but nope. And then based on other symptoms, they thought MS, my scans showed I had sclerosis, but not "enough" apparently, and they also thought lupus, since I have the butterfly rash, but not exactly and, again, symptoms, but my ANA came back fine, and by that point I was so sick and tired of being poked and prodded that I decided I didn't care *that* much and I quit going to the doctor. So... basically who knows? I am pretty sure with all that history I might be on the immune protocol for IVF... sometimes I regret not investigating further, because all this IF stuff makes me wonder, but then I remember we are MFI, and my stuff is probably nothing. and if it is, nothing I could do would help anyway.

@ndz2018 I'm nearly 37 (one month away) and my AMH is 5.72 and I don't have PCOS. My RE was also happy with the number. Only problem is a possible risk of over-stimming.
@kristokekerooni oh dear sounds like you’ve been through the testing mill too! I have full sympathy with you for the frustration and time and energy that takes!
Unfortunately all I can offer is that persistence in testing did get me somewhere in the end, and mostly they suggest new tests as new symptoms appear or become worse... so not sure I’m much help at all sorry. Have you been tested for RA markers too? I was also sub clinical for several tests for years (like your “not enough” sclerosis!) but at some point I am becoming clinical for most of those step by step. To get taken seriously for my arthritis I literally had to sit and sob at the doctors office. And my husband had to threaten to report them to the medical practice board. I sat in their office and couldn’t unclench my hands, but they said there was nothing wrong... but then we got referred to my great rheumatologist as a result. My RE said there are no studies proving anything (and especially as I’m a mixture of things which you couldn’t find enough people to make a statistically significant study from) but he cannot believe there is no link between my issues and my IF. So he acts like there is, and as long as that does me no harm we are all ok with that. And now they’re looking at me again for MS and Lupus and the like as I have some new symptoms. But I also heard regularly it can take 5-10 years to diagnose some conditions from the first reporting of symptoms... which basically sucks...

@RVAmom315 and @darkstar42 I called the nurse this morning because AF is now 4 days late and tooK 3 tests all BFN( wasn’t shocked) so I wanted to see if we could get things moving along with AF, unfortunately nada can be done. Fri 10/27 was my first ever RE app so this is all very new to me. The nurse today asked me if I had PCOS, I told her no, not to my knowledge.. I mean I would know by this point in my life I’d think... right? She didn’t say it was a bad thing, she just asked if I had PCOS. So I guess I should be pleased with 4.17:)
@BusinessWife Thank you for sharing your story I'm literally over here crying at work now. My biggest fear is that DH is going to just decide he doesn't want to TTC anymore because of all the speed bumps. I have to kind of talk him in to going to appoinments one appointment at a time. I can't imagine he's going to be okay with IVF once he finds out the cost. We have no way to pay for that (though I know people just kind of find a way). We are still paying off our wedding (we just got married in June) and are about to purchase a home in the next 6 mo. IUI is covered by insurance and it's under $1000 to "buy sperm" but DH isn't in to that idea whatsoever.TTC may just have to get shelfed and it breaks my heart. Especially because I'm not getting any younger. I'll be 36 in Dec
Diagnosis (If you've been): Azoospermia
Cycle/CD: 6/12
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO not that it matters. I can ovulate all I want, if he doesn't have sperm it doesn't matter
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) DH had a repeat SA on Monday. Same results ZERO sperms and all other hormones and labs were normal. Waiting for him to see the urologist now. He booked the appt himself and booked a phone appt because it was easier. So stupid. They can't do anything over the phone!
How are things going? I'm still randomly bursting in to tears and over googling everything. I am almost certain that I've solved the mystery of the missing testicle. Hubby only has one testicle and his mom has very little info on what happened. The only info I got is that she took him to the Dr at age two because his testes were swollen and he was in pain. They did emergency surgery and "attached his testicles". She seems to think he still had two testicles after the surgery but I assure you he doesn't not. I'm 99% sure he had testicluar torsion and lost a testicle because of it. His scar matches where his incision would be. The symptoms match etc. It shouldn't have left him infertile but definitely could have. The stats on fertility in men with one testicle aren't great in general according to my over googling. The big question is did that surgery cause this? Was he ever able to make children?!?!?!? *TRIGGER* He has a 9 year old! Our lives are completely flipped upside down now. Finding out he has no sperm has left DH wondering if his son is even his. We did a DNA test and mailed in the swabs on Sat. We are going CRAZY now waiting for the results. Crazy how one SA can change your whole world. The past two weeks have SUCKED.
Any questions?
GTKY: Did/are you doing anything to celebrate Halloween this year? Passed out candy
@margorita30 I am so incredibly sorry for this turn of events. I can't even imagine what you and YH are going through right now, and the fact that his mother doesn't even know what's what with him is alarming. I truly hope that you are able to put a plan in place, and that the DNA shows that his child is his. How long does it take to get the results?
@margorita30, wow, what a plot twist. That is seriously concerning. **TW At one point in our lives, years ago, H and I questioned whether he actually had a child with a former gf (the timing made it possible). He never looked into it because she married the guy she had started seeing and she told H that it was that guy's kid, so we sort of left it at that. Guess that was an okay moral call given our MFI situation. End TW** But how horrible of a situation for your H to be in. Also, he might surprise you a bit with how far he's willing to go. It's shocking the number of things we say we won't do...right up until out other options run out.
This name conversation you all are having is hilarious! My mom was a huge proponent of picking names that were more difficult to turn into crappy nicknames. I must sincerely thank her for that next time I talk to her!
AFM: hysteroscopy/mock transfer went mostly fine today. I'm polyp free and good to go, and incredibly happy that I don't have to do this again because apparently my cervix was being difficult and getting the catheter in required multiple attempts and a dialator...which was, shall we say painful. Girl, @beachbunnyxo123 I am feeling so much sympathy for you right now. I can only imagine...
This ish still wasn't as bad as my HSG, but I'm wondering what my uterus has against being filled with various fluids. I cramp like a mother during, and I have residual throbs of cramps on my left side for hours after.
@margorita30 My SO had an injury when he was 12 to his testicle that he never told anyone about.. sadly he only has one as well. However years ago when SO was with his ex wife they went through IVF as well and turns out his sperm count was fine, turned out her egg quality was poor and they never conceived, that was 12 years ago. We have our semen analysis this Tuesday to see if they are still good I am hoping they still are Sorry to hear what you are going through and know you’re not alone! HUGS!
@margorita30 MH was 100% against donor with IUI in January of last year when we found out. Fast forward 10 months and here we are after a failed IVF and we are pursuing IUI with donor. So you never know where this path will lead you. My friend IRL in our exact situation decided ultimately not to do the TESE and donor and is pursuing adoption an in talking with me and hearing my story, donor is now on the table when it wasn't for the past two years. Don't rule anything out yet.

@margorita30 My DH definitely was not excited about the thought of donor sperm at first and our eventual donor took him several months to accept. (It was only by a strange twist of fate that our doctor recommended our friend as being our ultimate donor, so DH went with it.) I know how stressful the zero count results are. I was on Google looking up every study I could for my husband's condition and hoping for different answers than what we ended up getting after his surgery. If they are able to extract sperm from your husband, you may be able to do an IUI with his sperm instead of jumping straight to IVF. It all really depends and for situations like this, the surgery is often needed to know what's really going on in there. As far as for the paternity issue with your husband, I do hope that you get good news about that. (Very early on in our relationship, someone accused DH of fathering her child. That was a big nope.) I can't imagine how this adds to your stress.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Today was my last day of Clomid cd 5-9.
How are things going? I'm okay. I go up and down between feeling hopeful and not allowing myself to feel hopeful. Today DH prompted a conversation about our next steps if Clomid doesn't work, but I get really upset when I think about it not working.
Any questions? Which CD did you ovulate on your first Clomid cycle? Also, my BBT is completely on the fritz. I'm usually low 97's, but this cycle I haven't temped under 98.

@twodreamscollide On clomid I O'd on CD 13, 11 then 14. As for the temps- clomid can give you hot flashes, so its absolutely possible the temps are from the clomid
@Avrilmai well I suck as a nurse. I couldn't get the cap off as I was pulling gently so I pulled harder and it became slanted. And then I swear I was pushing up gently to get the air out but it squirted way up in the air. I hope I didn't screw anything up. The shot was more uncomfortable than I expected. Mostly after I pulled the needle out. I'm not sure it was really pain but more achey.
@margorita30 I'm so sorry you're going through this
@zwink1 I'm sorry today was a little rough but so glad everything looks good!!

@Avrilmai when do you get your BW results back? Are you just doing clomid + TI this month?
@adirat so excited for you!!!!! I’m going to have so many questions about PGS and all that after my consult next week! Also good input about the thyroid! I passed that info along to my mom!
@purplg8r I’m glad you followed up about the 5dpo BW, did they say why they wanted you in so early? Maybe to start on progesterone if needed?
@JuneRoseRuby yay for not overstimming!!! GL this weekend!!!
@margorita30 wow sorry to hear that you are dealing with all that right now!
@zwink1 so sorry you had to go through that friend! Did they say why so much trouble getting the catheter in? And was the dilator a suppository? Apparently my RE has a new plan with dilating using a suppository so I was curious to hear what helped with you. Glad everything is good and I hope you feel better soon!
@twodreamscollide I’ve only used letrozole and usually Od around cd 13. When do you go back for monitoring US?
AFM so everything went well at the cardiologist on Wednesday EKG and BP is normal and he is medically clearing me for my RE. I have a follow up appointment with RE on Monday to discuss IVF and plan moving forward. He mentioned something about instead of doing another hysteroscopy and anesthesia to try a mock transfer and I guess saline sono being guided by an US with using a vaginal suppository to dilate my cervix. Hoping me and DH get the clearance to continue trying on our own until IVF. I just hate not being able to try at all just Incase I wind up being a SS. Anyhow I’m nervous but looking forward to Monday and aporsciTe all of your feedback earlier in the week about my concerns. I’m gonna ask if there will be someone else available to do or at least be present to get the catheter in if there is trouble so we can have a backup plan!
I am so desperate to get my period to start my test at the RE that I read up on google what can help induce it.. this is what I’ve been chugging all morning Parsley tea with lemon, at first it wasn’t so bad ... I’ve changed my mind on that, it’s disgusting. But hey, ill try anything!!

I keep a spreadsheet where I input the BW results from all different doctors and over time. It's amazing the different normal ranges that can get quoted depending on the lab used each time. So although you can look for general info, you should consider the specific labs normal ranges too. And assuming it's a lab your RE normally uses he should be familiar with how their normal ranges compare to standards
Just before you freak out at some of the numbers too much... (and this is definitely a case of do as I say not as I do lol as I freak out and over analyze every time!)

@purplg8r Oh my goodness, how scary!

@RVAmom315 that sounds fun!!
@emmasemm I'm glad you're feeling better!!
so so had my follie check today.
@Avrilmai I'm sorry you felt poorly at your BW! Does that normally happen?
@adirat Monday is so soon!!! I'm so so excited for you!!!!

So they don't do any IUIs, retrievals or transfers from about mid December until after the first week in January so I'd also ask your office about how their schedule looks around the holidays. That may almost make your decision for you.
Good luck either way. None of this is easy!
Thank you all for the kind words and advice!

@shortstack930 What a nice mom! I'm glad you have such a kind woman in your life.
@JuneRoseRuby What a relief that you didn't overstim! GL this weekend!

@avrilmai hahaha so real.
Related, my MIL wants us to name a baby after her (Victoria). Which is not going to happen, ever. But I told her that the reason is because then the baby's initials would be VD which is a dealbreaker.
At first they thought it was celiac's, but the scope made them think otherwise.

I'll be back later!
Sorry to hear what you are going through and know you’re not alone! HUGS!

@margorita30 Wow, thank you for sharing your story. I sure hope everything will be okay and that the DNA test comes back that his 9 year old is his. Do you know how long the results will take? I'll be thinking about you guys.
@beachbunnyxo123 I am so sorry you are going through that! I'll be thinking about you
Diagnosis (If you've been): No official diagnosis yet. All my tests have been okay so far, but I have not yet done an HSG.
Cycle/CD: 12/9

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Today was my last day of Clomid cd 5-9.
How are things going? I'm okay. I go up and down between feeling hopeful and not allowing myself to feel hopeful. Today DH prompted a conversation about our next steps if Clomid doesn't work, but I get really upset when I think about it not working.
Any questions? Which CD did you ovulate on your first Clomid cycle? Also, my BBT is completely on the fritz. I'm usually low 97's, but this cycle I haven't temped under 98.
GTKY: Did/are you doing anything to celebrate Halloween this year? I cooked dinner for everyone on our street and some of our neighbors gave out candy with us. It was so fun, and a nice distraction.

@shortstack930 aww. Yay for mom!
