This is my inspiration. Creams and white with blush and gold. Floral, feminine, soft, nothing too babyish. DD1’s crib is being refinished in this paint color and the chair will be a pale blush also. The rest of the furniture will be white.
Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!
I definitely want to do a big floral decal like the one in the picture. I found that exact one (it's wallpaper) and it would cost over $400 so I am searching for alternative options. I found some cute ones on Etsy for closer to $100.
I just came on here to talk about this, lol. We just found out it's a girl, and I saw these floor quilts that I loved. So I wanted to do a cute little bug nursery theme, but am having a very hard time finding things that aren't just ladybugs or butterflies. I want a mix of those with bumblebees, snails, dragonflies, caterpillars.
@JJMNO1616 Look into websites like www.whatisblik.com
I had a few of their large graphic yellow flowers in my dining room for years! It was a great way to spice up the walls in our rental house without painting.
@Mattel@JJMNO1616 Secretly crossing my fingers for a girl because that's exactly what I want to do too! DHs family only produces boys though, so I'm not getting my hopes up
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
I want to do a farm theme this time! The room is brown - well corner really since baby will be in a walk-thru shared space. Just going to get some pictures like these and new sheets.
Cynical third pregnancy inspiration: anything that can be reused from the last two babies, or that looks decent and can be acquired for minimal cost via Amazon Prime
ETA: totally not hating on anyone's nursery excitement. Lord knows I went nuts with my first two. I'm just expressing my own exhausted opinion.
We found an adorable aquatic wall sticker set on Etsy, and went with it. Originally I picked a gender nuetral theme so I could use the nursery for both kids, but all that careful planning turned out to be for no reason . Just as a note, my kid's name is above the fish hook in a nice font, but I erased it for internet safety.
@kmalls yup. The only reason the nursery is a project in our house is because there is currently a full kitchen on our second floor where the nursery is going. Our inspiration is basically how do we make this not a kitchen lol
Lol @ekendall09 yeah that would be enough motivation for me to figure out some nursery decor. At least you'll have a spot to easily do sink baths if there's a nighttime diaper blowout?!
haha @kmalls so true. All of the cabinets, appliances etc are coming out. There will be no portion of kitchen left when we're done with the renovation! The decor will consist of paint, a dresser I already have, a glider I already have and somewhere to sleep!
DS2 nursery will look pretty close to DS1's. There's no chair rail in the new one so it will be one paint color, or possibly an accent wall. And new carpet because the entire house desperately needs new carpet. DS1's room
our house is mid-century modern, so this image has been sticking with me lately. We're getting a snoo for the first 6 months, a friend of mine said it made a huge difference for her. Can you tell I'm a FTM with my somewhat unrealistic nursery!
@stalkinghorse I LOVE that style, too! Fantastic picture. Our house is a little more rustic feeling and we are doing the white and light wood mix with that. We can stay a little unrealistic for now
Our son's nursery was Adirondack mountains (photo below of his room) and this baby will be arctic nights/ northern light and we'll do a dark constellation wall + watercolor arts
Dd is convinced baby will share a room with her and her brother. Guess I better get a set of bunk beds because it ain’t fitting with a double and twin!!
I love all these!! Like @btm013 I'm feeling like I want to do something new even if we have another boy. I'm putting off planning until we find out. In the meantime I'm obsessing over DS's big boy room, since he'll have to switch (he's in the bedroom that's really only big enough for a crib or as an office). I'm thinking a camping/woodlands theme with lots of stars and maybe a teepee. I bought the quilt for his bed so far but that's it!
And just for fun here is DS's nursery- no real theme besides animals (including dog photobomb haha) and navy/teal/gray colors.
Our nursery is a disaster currently, as we are replacing the windows, but we are painting yellow and grey and going with a safari theme. I've bought a little decor and painted the dressers, but my favorite piece is this rug!
We are in the process of attempting to buy my grandmother's condo and rent our current house. I can't bring myself to make any nursery decisions before I know if the condo is a go or not. It's beginning to stress me out because I like to plan! My preliminary thoughts are grey and yellow though.
I'm loving everyone's pink schemes... I'm hoping to stay more gender neutral but my love of pink might win if she's a girl.
We are so indecisive. The decor in the rest of our house is mostly mid-century with a lot of greys and pops of brighter colors like mustard yellow and teal. We want to stay pretty close to the style of the rest of the house while adding a good dose of baby. We will definitely do an accent wall, hopefully in a deep teal color (trying to get H off of wanting dark navy), and the rest of the walls white. Crib and dresser will be a warm acorn color wood (Babyletto Sprout crib in Chestnut, *heart eyes*). Then a mix of neutrals and pops of saturated/brighter colors.
We're team green and only have 2 bedrooms in the house so hopefully most of this stuff will work if and when we have baby #2. Anyone else have a SO who wants equal involvement in all nursery decorating decisions? He's the same with the rest of the house which I truly do appreciate and he does have good style for the most part, but I do get a little jealous of people who can just decorate the nursery exactly the way they personally envisioned it

yes, mostly because he's a painter/carpenter and our nursery is going to be a home rennovation. I'm having him take the lead on it, we have similar taste in color and style so i'm glad to take a back seat lol. For accent walls i've done one in all of DD rooms, her first was gray and white stripes, second was gray and teal chevron (this took FOREVER) and her room now is pinkish purple and gray stripes. The rest of the walls have always been gray and it gives me the freedom to choose pretty much any bedding! I think SO wants to do a "surf" theme and some sort of waves accent wall for this baby. He has the plan in his head so we'll see how it comes out!
We're doing a puppy dog theme for our boy in these exact colors, beige, white, grey, & navy blue. We just got a puppy back in August and we're hoping they will grow up together and be best friends!
@frenchiekinplusone I really want the Babyletto Hudson crib!! I am thinking the white with the natural rails because I want some warmth in the room. The pictures I bought also have that natural wood frame which I think will be nice.

My husband does design for a living. So for most of the house, it's been his vision. He has super, if too expensive taste. Plus it's his creative passion, and he doesn't get as much free rein at work, so I sort of let him run with it. But for the nursery, I want more say. I can already tell it's going to be tricky. So I'm going to take a page out of his book and start buying things and insisting we talked about it beforehand.
@saralee797-2 I love that one too! It was between the 2 and we decided to go for the darker wood.
@stalkinghorse lol, so devious! I've done that with little things here and there (pillows and table lamps are about as ballsy as I've gotten) and for the most part there hasn't been too much drama, haha.
Re: Nursery Inspirstion
I realize I should be practical and reuse my sons bedding but since this is my last I want to do it up!
