I’m not finding anything I love for nursery colors... so far the only one I’ve not hated is grey, navy and mint. Anyone have other ideas?
Could you use those and add in metallics or natural colors (like wood, etc) as accents? Otherwise, those specific colors also make me think of sea glass..... so mimicking a sunset/sunrise over the ocean...?
@babyclarke429 - I love the mountains. Did you see @mmmmkay 's post from earlier in this thread? I think I'm going to do mountains like that in our nursery.
@JJMNO1616 - I love the dresser! I so want to get a vintage dresser and refinish it but DH is a total worrier and doesn't want me near all the chemicals to strip the old paint and refinish it. He's not into that kind of stuff and I'm too anal to try to get him to do it for me.
@g_amoss - I'm having a hard time choosing colors too. I'm pretty set on mostly grey, but I'm still searching for an accent color. I'm not very good with decorating so I'm feeling a little anxious about it.
@keeksie84 My H is worried that I am just going to pawn the job off on him to do lol! I work at a doctors office and have hospital grade fitted masks I can wear so I'm not too worried about it but that is a reasonable concern.
@babyclarke429. We are doing the same theme and going with the mountains. If you rather skip paint, it appears there are mountain mural type wall paper available online. I haven't compared pricing, but sounds easier....maybe? I need to look into it more myself when I have the time! The wood is is awesome too though if it works for your home!
Love all these ideas!! We don't know the gender so our nursery will have to wait until little one gets here but since we already have a little girl I can't help but be focusing on navy blues and warm woods - I just keep thinking boy for some reason... we will see!!
@JJMNO1616 I love that dresser! Did you end up getting it? I refinished a dresser and side table for DD's room when I was pregnant with her and it was really special to feel like I was making something that would be such a big part of her room. I love the floral decal too!
@babyclarke429 I also like the wood better. While painted wall murals are cute, they are a ton of work for something that may not transition well with LO's age and interests over the years.
@g_amoss Do you have any art picked out for the nursery yet? If you are having trouble with color, maybe try finding some art that you love and do some color matching to that? There's a great app called Color Snap by Sherwin Williams that is really helpful. I did this one with the wall decal we got to get some colors going for the nursery. (Sorry if the pic is ultra huge- on mobile and spoiler isn't working.)
It's official, I'm going to need one of yall to come do this baby's nursery. I am just so uninspired in general but looking at yalls ideas are making me jealous.
Apparently, this baby is making me very envious. Just realized I posted about feeling jealous of baby movement earlier.
@g_amoss DS’s nursery is grey, mint/teal, and navy! Other than the colors I didn’t really have a theme. He ended up with some animal artwork on the walls so I guess that became the theme. We had wood floors in the house where he was born so it was fun to plan the colors around a pretty rug.
Update on the furniture hunt... I found this beautiful antique set posted on Craigslist and it’s already painted! The girl who is selling also has a long dresser (pictured below) that she is in the process of painting it. So I just bought all 3 pieces for the nursery! So excited.
@g_amoss It just got delivered and it’s white. The first picture I posted is the dresser she still has to paint for me to match the other two pieces. I’m in love with them!
@ftm_ohio Thanks! I jumped on the opportunity to buy them and I’m so happy I did.
@JJMNO1616 Beautiful! And you are still doing the flower wall decals/paper too, right? That is going to be gorgeous! I'm going to need you to AW all the pics once everything is in place!
@kbamomma33 Yep! And I just found a crib on Pinterest that is sold at Target which has a really cute vintage vibe. I think will go great with the overall look. I feel like I have made so much progress today! I will definitely post pics once it all comes together.
I love all these ideas!! We likely won’t have the nursery done by the time baby is born. My mom lives with us and my younger sister stays over every other weekend. She sleeps in our spare room right now and it seems stupid to take apart the bed and set up the nursery when the baby will be with us for a few months anyway. So I’ll probably keep the bed intact and store baby stuff in there for the first few months. Is this horrible? I love the elephant theme...I LOVE elephants and the walls are a bright blue so I’ll probably have a grey/blue elephant theme when I do set it up.

We are doing a meadow theme similar to the picture above. We are doing a mix of flowers, each flower will be connected to the females in the family and my best friend. I asked them all for their favorite flower.
@danjoly and @mmmmkay, I stole my inspiration from you two! thank you for posting your pictures!! Finally finished painting. I went back and forth between more natural looking mountains and more stylized ones. Yours were both so great.

The seller doesn't appear to be there anymore, but I found her by typing in "aquatic nursery decals". It gives you like 74 pages of options
