@eggplantface me too. Our oldest went as chewbacca , our boy went as a can of beer (with the cutest little hat) and our youngest girl went as a witch. They were adorable and we're taking them to an event on Saturday to show off their costumes.
My co-worker announced that shes expecting in May. Her due date is 2 weeks prior to my return date. Which means when I get back not only will I have to clean up whatever mess was made over my maternity leave I'll have to cover her job as well per my boss today. So much for returning in office part time and easing back in as we'd talked about before. I'm going to be frakking slammed with a 4 month old breast fed infant at home. I'm so friggin pissed off right now.

The sellers weren't able to find someone to replace the roof before closing so they are compensating us roughly 12k between closing costs and price reduction on the house. This will actually work better in our favor because according to our roofer that we sent out, we have easily 5 years left in the roof but there are more pressing things that need to be done inside the house. We've signed all of those documents though and we are still set to close on November 21st! We will have to do A LOT of work before we are able to move in. Hopefully we can get it done in time to have Christmas at home, but I'm so excited. We got into a great neighborhood in the area we wanted with some of the best schools and amazing amenities!!

That totally sucks. Did your boss specifically say you can't do part time now? Could you reiterate to him you would be coming back part time at first? Could that still be an option and they hire someone else temporarily to cover her? (I'm assuming this is how they are convering your job, with a temp) it doesn't really seen fair to give you all of that work to get caught up on and change the terms of your leave because she has announced she's expecting as well.
