@laurad75- omg yes!! Best news!! Hopefully they can get the Donor going right away! Hopefully all the timing would work to sync up but worst case maybe they can just get those eggs/embryos even if your transfer would be a few days later. Are you using lupron? I think that extends the timeline a little since I started that two weeks before my Donor started stims. Please keep us posted!

Hello everyone. I haven't intro'd on the board but I wanted to on this thread. Some of my TTGP girls suggested I make my way here. After 3 poor egg retrieval and 3 failed transfers I am now seriously considering donor eggs. We have another consult with the Dr to make sure there's nothing of concern and then we will also do a call with the donor coordinator. Donor Eggs is a hard thing to consider, but after so much dissapointment its nice to have an option that actually has a very high success rate! Definitely read through the board and you will learn alot! And of course we are here to answer questions too!

AFM- sorry I haven't been on much, but with the tech issues on the bump and being on vacation from thurs-sun, this is my first chance to share our update. Our vacation in the Smokies was great, but I was really nauseous the whole time- from the higher estrogen and from my husband "spirited" driving on the mountain roads. We heard on Sunday that our Donor had 21 follicles between 10-19mm, so we were super happy about that! This morning I went in for monitoring, and my lining is only 7mm even thought my estrogen is 2400+. Normally we would just delay and let it get thicker, but we heard today donor is triggering tonight for ER on Wed! She has 11 follicles that are 14mm or more. They said there are 12s/13s that could maybe get there too. I am really hoping for at least 15 mature eggs, so hoping a few more get there. I know this sounds a little greedy, but with what we are paying, I am really hoping for 2 children if possible out of this cycle. My RE thinks 7mm or more is fine for transfer, so I will start progesterone on Wed, with transfer on Monday. Its going to be stressful since we won't know how many embryos we have until we go in on Monday. Sorry for the novel!!

@JamieH2000 thanks. In my previous WTF appt after last failure I asked her if I should quickly do another IVF before I turn 42. And she’s said no. She thinks it’s my eggs. Even those who are PGS normal. That’s why I started posting on this thread. Seems like sooner rather than later I’ll be on the DE and maybe also surrogacy route

@prudence9-2- I find that interesting that they still think its your eggs even though they are PGS normal. I am a big fan of second and third opinions, so before you pursue DE or surrogacy, I would at least get another consult for new ideas/perspectives. Maybe even a RI like Braverman or Kwak Kim?

@JamieH2000 they treated me with neupogen this time around. Which is what dr B usually does. Anyway, still haven’t had the wtf appt. will find out what the dr thinks.
But basically PGS only checks from chromosomes. There could be other genetic defects.

@prudence9-2 I'm so sorry. I'm also surprised that they think its the eggs since the are testing normal but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean they are good quality. Whatever, I'm just really sorry.

AFM: I have a calendar! I just got the email while I was at dinner with co-workers and I was so distracted. I start lupron on Saturday, My last day on BCP is 11/3 and the donor starts stims on 11/15. We anticipate the ER will be 11/25-11/29 and my transfer will be 3-5 days after that. It's happening. I'm freaking out.

@laurad75 thanks. And yeah, PGS only test chromosomes. There are still many things that can cause genetic defects even if the embryo has the correct number of chromosomes. What are the odds that all my 4 PGS embryos are defected? I think low... I bet my problem is a combination of bad embryos and a problem with me.

@laurad75- YAY YAY YAY! SO glad you got your calendar and they can get the cycle in before the donor black out dates! It is going to go so quickly once you start meds and stop BC. Are you doing lurpon or just estrogen?
@rallykatt14- yes we are doing a fresh transfer and we do get to keep all the eggs So thats why we are hoping for a lot, so we can hopefully have a decent amount of frozen embryos for potentially a second child. While fresh costs more and takes longer, you do have higher odds to have more embryos.

@JamieH2000 I can't wait for your egg update today!! We went to a couple of cities in Italy (Genoa, Sicily, Naples), Malta, Marseilles France and Barcelona Spain. AFM- We got 25 eggs!!!! I'm sure all aren't mature, but I'm hoping at least 15-20 are and that most of those fertilize! They are having me come in for U/S to check my lining tomorrow just to be safe rather than sorry, so just praying it looks good for a fresh transfer on Monday!

I have been less active on TB due to some anxiety issues, but have managed to keep up to date with the progress over here and am so very excited for each of you to be moving forward!
@20T - CONGRATULATIONS! So thrilled for you and can't wait for more updates. @JamieH2000 25 eggs is WOW! That's awesome. Good luck on your upcoming transfer! @laurad75 Very happy for you to have your calendar and donor all lined up and ready to go! @radmom27 Welcome back - sounds like an amazing vacation and the perfect trip before you jump into the transfer process. @rallykat14 Welcome. I am sorry you didn't find success with IVF. It is frustrating and sad. But, although it may feel like a last resort right now, if you choose to move forward with DE, those feelings will likely fade. As others have said, it is rewarding to have hope again. Happy to answer any questions you may have. @prudence9-2 I am sorry your last transfer didn't work. It's maddening when you feel like you have all the tests done to assure success. I hope you can find some peace with moving in a different direction. In the end, I was so grateful DE IVF was an option, but it definitely took some adjusting. @ChiTown16 - Congrats on finding a new donor and moving forward!
So much activity!
TW (pregnancy mentioned) - While I have had anxiety, it's not directly related to my pregnancy. Everything is fine with Baby Girl and me. In fact, I hit the third tri yesterday and had a great u/s and Non Stress Test appointment, so it was a lovely day! I will have additional monitoring in the third trimester due to risk of growth restriction and placental abnormalities, but I am feeling really good and it is surreal to say I have made it this far. She moves a lot which provides the most awesome daily reassurance and DH and I are finally starting to prep the nursery, so we're moving ahead.
I have been seeing a therapist for a month or two now and really appreciate the chance to chew on some of the things that have been swimming in my brain. Success after IF and multiple losses doesn't just wipe the slate clean, so I needed to work through some of that before I could fully embrace the present. I am feeling a lot better and am grateful for the science that allows this and absolutely grateful for my donor who gave me the chance to experience pregnancy.
As a reminder, most here are pursuing fresh cycles, but DH and went the
frozen DE route and fortunately had success on first transfer and do
have 4 remaining embryos, so if anyone has questions about that path,
please let me know.

@fivetimesnoluck congrats on hitting the third trimester mark! I'm still not there. But DE might be in my future. Just because time, I'm leaning toward frozen DE route.
AFM.... had the WTF appt yesterday. I have one more embryo left... So we decided to take the time and do ERA, that will probably take me to mid December. And follow that cycle with FET cycle... my cycles are long, takes about 6-8 weeks. So FET will probably be at the end of January, early February. We will also do a more extensive blood clots tests to make sure that is not my issue.

Well ladies.. its been a rough day, fulls of ups and downs. At my U/S this morning, the lining was 7.3mm, but the tech saw fluid in my uterus. She said that was common and usually goes away. They would likely have me come in or check again on transfer day. Then my RE herself calls at 12pm and says that she isn't liking the fluid, along with the less than optimal lining. She reco'd that we freeze the embryos and try a stimulated FET next month. Queue: Crying (after I got off the phone) and feeling like life is so unfair and my body hates me and going home from work to cry it out and work on the couch 3pm: IVF lab calls and we had 22 mature and 18 fertilized! 4pm: nurse calls with the plan. Start 10 days of progesterone pills, then get AF, and then start stim meds (follistim) since my lining was excellent during my fresh cycle. We will trigger, and then transfer on day 5. Based on my math, thats right after Thanksgiving. I'm thinking I will be transferring within days of @radmom27 and @laurad75! That is almost worth the delay

@JamieH2000 I wish there was a love it and hate it button. LOVE that you got a great fertilization report and lots of great embryos that will hopefully grow, grow, grow... BUT HATE that you're delayed and have to do an FET. I have heard that frozen cycles have a better rate of success so maybe this will be good luck for a perfect cycle and for a BFP. I am excited though to have a cycle buddy! I keep telling myself that time will fly and end of November/December will be here before I know it. Anyway, long post, but happy for you and frustrated at the very same time.

@radmom27 and @laurad75- thanks ladies, I know you understand how brutal the waiting is... I think this is just hitting me hard since we were supposed to be 4 days from transfer! and the delay before that, we were 3 weeks from transfer! and the delay before that we were 6 weeks from transfer!! Just gets me sad that I have constantly been waiting for something since 9 months ago when we had our last transfer. Logically, I know its only 4-5 more weeks, but now I am terrified they will find something in my saline sono they want to do next week or that my lining won't grow great again next cycle. Just feeling pretty down and stressed with so much to worry about..
BUT on the bright side, I am hoping going to have two of the best transfer buddies around! lots of prayers that your cycles go super smooth and give great # of embryos too!

AFM- somehow I missed my clinic's call! It was ringing Unknown for like 1 second and then ended and then I got a VM. But I guess it doesn't matter really if I spoke to them.. all 18 are still dividing (though its only day 2), so that is great news!! They won't call again until Monday or Tues with the frozen report. Excited but anxious.. with my last cycle I had all 6 that fertilized looking great on day 2, but then by day 5 only 2 were left and they were behind. I hear these things about sperm kicking in on day 3, and worry that we have unknown sperm issues. So I am totally hoping that my eggs truly are just shit and that our sperm is just fine

JamieH2000 - Ugh, sorry about the set back. I'm glad to hear the fertilized eggs are looking good so far though. Yeah, I have the same fear as you, that maybe it's a sperm problem. I've heard over and over that all signs point to a problem with the eggs in my case, but that you can never be totally sure. Dr. Sherbahn (not my current doc but had a consult) told me that in his experience generally be believes 90% of the time it's an egg issue rather than a sperm problem if that makes you feel any better. Keep us posted when you know more! fivetimesnoluck - Congrats on your pregnancy I unfortunately know from experience that multiple miscarriages and the ups and down of IF take such a toll on you physically and emotionally, it's totally normal to feel different or a little off after all we have been through. I have felt like a wreck on and off over the past two years; honestly being on the board and seeing that lots of us are going through this sh$t helps a lot. Anyways, I'm glad that you are working to sort through it all and please keep us posted on how you are doing. Where did you cycle/which frozen DE agency did you use? radmom27 - OMG a European cruise sounds amazing right now! Well timed too it sounds like. rallykat14 - I was really on the fence about DE after two failed IUIs and three failed IVFs, two of which ended in M/C around 8 weeks. I am 36 but have low DOR and never responded well to the meds. The numerous REs we saw always said I could go either way b/c I was in the gray area; it almost would have been an easier decision if one of them had just straight up said it would be unreasonable/a waste of time to try again with your OE, you should move on to DE, etc., but that's not my case. With my OE the likelihood of success based on past cycles is like around 15% per Dr. Sherbahn. Compared to something that has a likelihood of 60%+ and it just makes much more sense to move on to DE. My husband is very much in favor of DE; if he hadn't been so pro-DE, I may have given if one more shot with my own. DH and I are just tired of waiting for a baby and this is an option that is so much more likely to result in a baby. Half of my family is pretty conservative Christian, so early on when we were thinking about DE I was a bit worried about how they might react or judge this decision (even though the fertility counselor at FCI says they just need to get on board, I shouldn't worry that they won't approve, it's their problem if they have an issue with it, etc.) if we decided to go forward and actually tell the family. In a good phone conversation with my older (conservative Christian) sister one day, she asked how the TTC was going, and I told her what was going on and told her we were thinking of using DE maybe, and explained how that works. She goes, "That's awesome! That's so great that they can do that." So that was very comforting to hear that she has my back in this and it's not as big of a deal as I had built it up to be.

Weird question, but once you girls selected a donor did you guys have any second thoughts about your actual selection? I chose a donor, signed the contract, paid the initial funding, etc. and am not/cannot change donors now, but I am just so indecisive and picky in general that I of course am second guessing (is she tall enough (since I'm tall), etc.) My DH says to stop obsessing about it and that we picked a good one. Am I crazy?!
@chitown16 What you told @rallykat14 about how it would have been easier if you felt like there was no shot with your OE really resonated with me. Before pursuing DE we went for a second opinion appt and that RE basically said he would not be comfortable treating me using OE because he didn't think the chances of me getting pregnant via IVF (OE) was any better than getting pregnant naturally but I would be injecting myself with all those meds for nothing since I wasn't responding. I walked about of the appt and H asked if I was okay since hearing it so matter of fact obviously stung. The truth was, I was relieved. I needed to feel confident that it was time to move on and that we weren't giving up too fast.
And yes, every once in a while I have very minor second thoughts about the donor we picked. Of course we do. She's not us so she will never be perfect. I think its totally natural.
AFM: my meds came yesterday (so exciting). Compared to the monster box that came before my stimming cycles it was pretty manageable (lupron, estrogen pill, estrogen patches and PIO) but holy shit the needles for PIO...

@ChiTown16 I think it's totally natural to have second thoughts about the donor...as laurad75 said, you pick the best donor you can but ultimately, the donor isn't you. In an email the other day, my clinic accidentally told me my donor's name and now I think of her on a more intimate basis (which I admit is kind of nice).
@laurad75 I got my meds on Thursday and was surprised by how little the package was. I started Lupron last night which frankly, after all my other cycles, seemed like no big deal. I'm so hoping that the holidays will bring something really really special.

AFM- sorry I haven't been on much, but with the tech issues on the bump and being on vacation from thurs-sun, this is my first chance to share our update. Our vacation in the Smokies was great, but I was really nauseous the whole time- from the higher estrogen and from my husband "spirited" driving on the mountain roads. We heard on Sunday that our Donor had 21 follicles between 10-19mm, so we were super happy about that! This morning I went in for monitoring, and my lining is only 7mm even thought my estrogen is 2400+. Normally we would just delay and let it get thicker, but we heard today donor is triggering tonight for ER on Wed! She has 11 follicles that are 14mm or more. They said there are 12s/13s that could maybe get there too. I am really hoping for at least 15 mature eggs, so hoping a few more get there. I know this sounds a little greedy, but with what we are paying, I am really hoping for 2 children if possible out of this cycle. My RE thinks 7mm or more is fine for transfer, so I will start progesterone on Wed, with transfer on Monday. Its going to be stressful since we won't know how many embryos we have until we go in on Monday. Sorry for the novel!!

@radmom27 and @laurad75- lupron isn't fun, but its so nice to get started! My headaches went away after a few days and weren't too bad overall...
AFM- We got 25 eggs!!!! I'm sure all aren't mature, but I'm hoping at least 15-20 are and that most of those fertilize! They are having me come in for U/S to check my lining tomorrow just to be safe rather than sorry, so just praying it looks good for a fresh transfer on Monday!

JamieH2000 - I'm going to Dr. Beltsos at Vios and my agency is Graceful Conception. I liked a donor at FCI and would have gone with them but she is not available until March. I did my own IVFs with them though and liked them though!
I have been less active on TB due to some anxiety issues, but have managed to keep up to date with the progress over here and am so very excited for each of you to be moving forward!

@rallykat14 Welcome. I am sorry you didn't find success with IVF. It is frustrating and sad. But, although it may feel like a last resort right now, if you choose to move forward with DE, those feelings will likely fade. As others have said, it is rewarding to have hope again. Happy to answer any questions you may have.
@prudence9-2 I am sorry your last transfer didn't work. It's maddening when you feel like you have all the tests done to assure success. I hope you can find some peace with moving in a different direction. In the end, I was so grateful DE IVF was an option, but it definitely took some adjusting.

TW (pregnancy mentioned) -
While I have had anxiety, it's not directly related to my pregnancy. Everything is fine with Baby Girl and me. In fact, I hit the third tri yesterday and had a great u/s and Non Stress Test appointment, so it was a lovely day! I will have additional monitoring in the third trimester due to risk of growth restriction and placental abnormalities, but I am feeling really good and it is surreal to say I have made it this far. She moves a lot which provides the most awesome daily reassurance and DH and I are finally starting to prep the nursery, so we're moving ahead.
I have been seeing a therapist for a month or two now and really appreciate the chance to chew on some of the things that have been swimming in my brain. Success after IF and multiple losses doesn't just wipe the slate clean, so I needed to work through some of that before I could fully embrace the present. I am feeling a lot better and am grateful for the science that allows this and absolutely grateful for my donor who gave me the chance to experience pregnancy.
As a reminder, most here are pursuing fresh cycles, but DH and went the frozen DE route and fortunately had success on first transfer and do have 4 remaining embryos, so if anyone has questions about that path, please let me know.

@fivetimesnoluck congrats on hitting the third trimester mark! I'm still not there. But DE might be in my future. Just because time, I'm leaning toward frozen DE route.
AFM.... had the WTF appt yesterday. I have one more embryo left... So we decided to take the time and do ERA, that will probably take me to mid December. And follow that cycle with FET cycle... my cycles are long, takes about 6-8 weeks. So FET will probably be at the end of January, early February.
We will also do a more extensive blood clots tests to make sure that is not my issue.

AFM- still waiting on fert report, but I did get monitored again. My lining went up a little, to 7.3mm, but unfortunately they saw some fluid/mucus in my uterus. The Tech said this was common with estrogen and normally goes away when you start progesterone. She said they may have me come in again, or check day of transfer. it sounds like it can be aspirated if its still there on transfer day. Waiting for the nurse to call with more info. Its just always something

Queue: Crying (after I got off the phone) and feeling like life is so unfair and my body hates me and going home from work to cry it out and work on the couch
3pm: IVF lab calls and we had 22 mature and 18 fertilized!
4pm: nurse calls with the plan. Start 10 days of progesterone pills, then get AF, and then start stim meds (follistim) since my lining was excellent during my fresh cycle. We will trigger, and then transfer on day 5. Based on my math, thats right after Thanksgiving. I'm thinking I will be transferring within days of @radmom27 and @laurad75! That is almost worth the delay

I have heard that frozen cycles have a better rate of success so maybe this will be good luck for a perfect cycle and for a BFP.

@ChiTown16 @radmom27 My donor is scheduled to start stims on the 15th so depending on when ER is I will likely be transferring the last week in Nov or the 1st week of Dec. We would know by Christmas. I can't let my mind go there but it would be so amazing.

AFM- somehow I missed my clinic's call! It was ringing Unknown for like 1 second and then ended and then I got a VM. But I guess it doesn't matter really if I spoke to them.. all 18 are still dividing (though its only day 2), so that is great news!! They won't call again until Monday or Tues with the frozen report. Excited but anxious.. with my last cycle I had all 6 that fertilized looking great on day 2, but then by day 5 only 2 were left and they were behind. I hear these things about sperm kicking in on day 3, and worry that we have unknown sperm issues. So I am totally hoping that my eggs truly are just shit and that our sperm is just fine

rallykat14 - I was really on the fence about DE after two failed IUIs and three failed IVFs, two of which ended in M/C around 8 weeks. I am 36 but have low DOR and never responded well to the meds. The numerous REs we saw always said I could go either way b/c I was in the gray area; it almost would have been an easier decision if one of them had just straight up said it would be unreasonable/a waste of time to try again with your OE, you should move on to DE, etc., but that's not my case. With my OE the likelihood of success based on past cycles is like around 15% per Dr. Sherbahn. Compared to something that has a likelihood of 60%+ and it just makes much more sense to move on to DE. My husband is very much in favor of DE; if he hadn't been so pro-DE, I may have given if one more shot with my own. DH and I are just tired of waiting for a baby and this is an option that is so much more likely to result in a baby. Half of my family is pretty conservative Christian, so early on when we were thinking about DE I was a bit worried about how they might react or judge this decision (even though the fertility counselor at FCI says they just need to get on board, I shouldn't worry that they won't approve, it's their problem if they have an issue with it, etc.) if we decided to go forward and actually tell the family. In a good phone conversation with my older (conservative Christian) sister one day, she asked how the TTC was going, and I told her what was going on and told her we were thinking of using DE maybe, and explained how that works. She goes, "That's awesome! That's so great that they can do that." So that was very comforting to hear that she has my back in this and it's not as big of a deal as I had built it up to be.
AFM - I am not cycling probably until Dec. or Jan. I'll keep you posted when I know more!
Weird question, but once you girls selected a donor did you guys have any second thoughts about your actual selection? I chose a donor, signed the contract, paid the initial funding, etc. and am not/cannot change donors now, but I am just so indecisive and picky in general that I of course am second guessing (is she tall enough (since I'm tall), etc.) My DH says to stop obsessing about it and that we picked a good one. Am I crazy?!
And yes, every once in a while I have very minor second thoughts about the donor we picked. Of course we do. She's not us so she will never be perfect. I think its totally natural.
AFM: my meds came yesterday (so exciting). Compared to the monster box that came before my stimming cycles it was pretty manageable (lupron, estrogen pill, estrogen patches and PIO) but holy shit the needles for PIO...

@laurad75 I got my meds on Thursday and was surprised by how little the package was. I started Lupron last night which frankly, after all my other cycles, seemed like no big deal. I'm so hoping that the holidays will bring something really really special.
