Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I'm on day three of hospital bedrest and our surviving twin is looking great! He is such a trooper. And I've realized that we need to be a little more serious about an earlier arrival and get some last minute things done. Like maybe a permanent hospital bag and things I want for both boys. I ordered them marching blankets because I've decided I need to hold Shepherd and I don't want him just wrapped in a hospital blanket. His surviving twin will have a matching one in his name too.
I think today is the last day they are keeping me on the anti-contraction drugs. So I'm nervous when they wean me off of them that labor will start up again. My uterus is pretty easily agitated since the surgery, which makes sense.
Any other mamas been on magneisum to stop contractions? That shit is awful!

@meatballs37 I haven't done it but my friend just did like 2 weeks ago and she was MISERABLE. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. FX your uterus behaves. I love the matching blankets idea. A permanent hospital bag sounds like a good idea just in case though.
@meatballs37 I'm so happy to hear Baby A is doing well. He's strong and a fighter like his mama. @SarahFoley725 Congrats on the house!! FX that inspection goes well!!
@SarahFoley725 Congrats on the new house! You should have enough time to get settled and relax before baby!
@meatballs37 Thanks for the update--glad Baby A is such a fighter. I will be thinking of you and praying your uterus cooperates these next few days. I am sure it's hard being away from your little girl at home.

Whoa. Have they been here this whole time??!
Anyone have any good threads they have come across? Those are always a good bedrest read

Glad to hear things are going well @meatballs37! I feel bad bc I don’t comment on the blog, but I’m always thrilled to see the updates and how baby A is such a fighter!
@meatballs37 if the hospital hasn’t already given the option you may want to look and see if there are any NILMDTS (Now I Lay me down to sleep) photographers in your area for when you deliver.

We talked to our hospital about it. And depending on how many weeks longer I go with baby A, they said it might not be what I pictured. Because Shepherd will have been inside for so long before being born. But I have heard AMAZING things about them through my grief boards.

TW*** My sister in law just lost a baby at 37 weeks and she ended up having a dress and a blanket made for her out of her wedding dress. It was something special that she could wear that meant something to my SIL. I think the matching blankets will be something to always help you remember Shepard with!
@meatballs37 Glad things are going well for Baby A and I hope you’re able to go home soon! The blankets will be a very sweet way to celebrate both boys and have that memory to keep with you of Shepherd.
@SarahFoley725 Yay for the house! Hope the inspection goes smoothly!!
@kbrinks2 I’m so sorry about your SIL, that’s heartbreaking. I’m glad she was able to do something like that to honor her baby girl though, I can’t imagine what she’s going through.

kbrinks2 so sorry for your SIL. My heart breaks for her
So I'm angry. I went to my doctor yesterday and turns out, he had not been told about my accident. Their main offices were closed due to the fires and they were operating out of another office last week. I was never able to get ahold of anyone on the phone but through the doctor's email service, I was told by a triage nurse that I didn't need to come in since I wasn't bleeding or in pain. I told my doctor and his nurse this and they were NOT happy. He was also angry that the ER I was taken to didn't monitor me or do an US to rule out an abruption(sp?) and that it's possible I could have had internal bleeding even with the lack of pain. Had he known that Friday, he would have had me go to labor and delivery at the hospital down there for monitoring. He said it appears everything is fine, baby is moving and HB is strong (145) and if I HAD been bleeding for a week, I would have known by now. He referred me to an orthopedist for my knee and hip to rule out any issues and said they'd probably send me for physical therapy. But the fact that our local rural hospital is so friggin incompetent just pisses me off and scares me. I told my doctor that if I ever amputated my leg that I'd probably stand a better chance putting a tourniquet on and driving an hour to the Sutter hospital and he grimly agreed. He is going to have a talk with the triage service and let them know that, emergency office moves or not, if a pregnant patient of his contacts them and says "I've been in a car accident" he is to be paged so HE can talk to them and determine if they should go in or not.

@rainafire77 I am sorry you didn't get the treatment you deserved but holy crap what an AWESOME doctor. I'm sure it feels amazing to know how good of hands you're in.
I hope your ortho appointment goes well. I have a bad knee from a car accident 8 years ago and it is not an enjoyable thing to deal with while pregnant.
@rainafire77 that is so frustrating! At least it sounds like you have a wonderful OB though.!

I just found out my coworker/friend is pregnant! She's due in May. I have lots of friends with kids, but it'll be nice to have someone with a LO closer in age. And our mat leaves will overlap, so lots of play dates are in the future.
So DH is getting ready to take a new job at a different company in a few weeks. His current company has some kind of point system where people can give you points for doing well or whatever. Anyway the points can be redeemed for electronics, tools, gift cards etc. Since he's leaving he was like well I better cash my points. He got a Lowes gift card and had $400 worth of points! That will really help a lot with fixing up to the new house. I'm so excited.
@rainafire77 sounds like you have a great doctor! And your local er sounds a lot like ours.
What pisses me off is this hospital doesn't even do OB. The hospital 20 minutes away does (that's still not my Dr's hospital but may have been better) but when EMS called the nearest hospital they said "yeah we can handle it". Obviously you can't if you don't know what to look for! I think I told y'all about how the nurse didn't even know how to properly use a doppler and that I had to find the baby's heartbeat myself because she couldn't after 5 minutes. It's horrible. I pity the people who go there for true emergencies because they will be getting shitty substandard care.

I remember you saying that the nurse couldn't use the Doppler. Why the hospital didn't have you rerouted elsewhere is insane. Our local hospital turns away all incoming psych emergencies because they aren't set up to handle them and they know it. The hospital should have rerouted you. I am so mad for you and your doctor. Hopefully he lets them have it!
@rainafire77 That's so scary, I'm glad you and baby are ok. I feel your frustration with the hospital. We went through something similar with the ER by our old house.
So i just realized the question I just asked is better suited in another thread... soooo editing this one to just say hi. What's everyone doing this weekend.
We haven’t done Infant cpr but I wish we had and would like to before this baby arrives. I Would hate to be in the position to need the training and not have it.
My son choked on a piece of round cereal when he was around 10 months. It took at least 30 seconds to clear it and was the most terrifying 30 seconds of my life
@rainafire77 glad all is ok, all things considered! @SarahFoley725 hopefully they’ll work with you! I’m not sure if every location is the same, but where I live after an inspection it is given to ALL the potential buyers so it really is in the sellers best interest to try and work with the buyers. Good luck!!
We looked at a house today, I fell in love but it's only been listed for 2 days and had 2 offers already. I can't compete with that, it was close to our max budget as it was. But now i have the moving bug
