Random happy thing: we can feel baby moving/kicking from the outside now! I started to feel him last week or the week before, but now DH can, too. It's feels bizarre, surprising, and exciting at the same time.
So DH found out he is the front runner for a big promotion at work. If he gets it then I will be able to stay home with the kids after this baby is born. I am pretty excited but thought of being home by myself with 2 Little’s is a bit terrifying. Rumor is he will find out for sure Wednesday.
Just and FYI, there was a recall on some packaged produce for lysteria. The best buy dates are in the past (Oct 11 - Oct 20), Buy in case you still have them in your fridge. They were from Mann Packing, but we’re also sold under Target’s store brand (Archer Farms), Walmart, Trader Joe’s and others. Here is an article and a list for you.
I work at a bank and it was robbed last week. Thankfully no one was hurt and she was caught super quick - but man was it scary! I’ve been in banking 13 years and have never been there during a robbery.
She he also did it right after our breakfast was delivered and I felt awkward but I was eating my egg sandwich when the cops got there. They were very understanding about it.
My doc sent me to ld. This place annoys me. I’ve been here for 2.5 hours with mild contractions and I’m going to kick the resident “doctor” in the face if she’s continues her condescending tone like I’m an idiot or something.

I'm back! Woohoo! Dealing with Monday while recovering from getting rear-ended on the freeway by a speeder while I was slowed for another accident that was completely blocking my lane. Baby is ok, I'm ok and my insurance is handling everything. Plus car is still driveable while hers is totaled. Turns out she had no license due to DUI and her car was new...having totaled the previous one in her last accident. You'd think people would slow the hell down and pay attention.
On another note, I was taken by ambulance to the ER where there is no OB unit. The nurse there said "OK I'm going to use this machine to find your baby's heartbeat." I'm like "Yeah, I know what a doppler is thank you." She then proceeded to very lightly graze my stomach from ribcage to hip bone very quickly. Of course, she wasn't finding anything and I was getting irritated. I told her where I was feeling movement and her response was "that's pretty low for a baby plus that could be a foot and you wouldn't get a heartbeat there." After FIVE FRIGGIN MINUTES I asked her for the doppler wand. Five seconds later, what do you know...there's the heartbeat right where I told her! I swear if I somehow get charged for her using that damn doppler I'm contesting it. She didn't even know how to use it.
I go to my OB on Thursday (talked to him and he said I was fine to wait until Thursday so long as I felt movement, wasn't bleeding and wasn't having pelvic pain) and I'm going to get a referral to someone for my hip and leg pain. Plus my shoulder and neck pain. Good times!

Fingers crossed, @GoogleMD I hope things turn out okay, @smorzandoj , keep us posted. ETA: @rainafire77 , oh my word! I am so glad you baby okay- you must have been so relieved to finally hear that beatbeat! I hope you feel better soon, too. No clue how I missed your post earlier, but yikes!
@mayapple44 and @the_other_mother , same here. I couldn't post, see which posts I had read recently and had been updated, etc. all weekend, and was so confused. Back in action over here, too.
So recently at DD1 playgroup a mom introduced herself and mentioned future playdates for her daughter and mine. I'm fine with that and she told us about a cool free play thing at a gymnastics place I'd like to take DD. Well, I added her number to my phone and FB suggested we be friends. I creeped her page a little and found out she doesn't vaccinate. I'm not really comfortable with the idea of playdates now. I know it sounds judgy and terrible but my mom has lupus and immunizations are extremely important to us. I get that I can't keep DD in a bubble and she'll probably run into unvaccinated children in the future but I don't feel right knowingly setting up playdates now. How do I handle seeing her at future groups if I don't want individual playdates?
@Melissa9481 I won’t do play dates with people that don’t vaccinate. This is totally your call as the mom. Don’t feel bad - you met her once, it’s not like she’s a close friend or family member
Thanks ladies. We are home. They were able to stop contractions. I am home for a few days resting and go back in a week tonbe checked.
I actually told that nurse that I thought the doctor was annoy and condescending and she agreed and had a different doctor come in...since it’s a teaching hospital they have more than enough walking around.
Weve had a pretty stressful week so that’s probably what caused it.
@Melissa9481 while it's completely up to you as a mom who you feel comfortable having playdates with, your child can't catch something from a child that isn't sick, vaccinated or not. Unless that kid is walking around with measles or something then it's really not going to affect your child to associate with them. If it were me, I wouldn't really care. But that's obviously just my opinion and yours is probably different, so use your own discretion. That would be an awkward conversation though.
DH is thinking about taking another week of fmla to stay home with DD and I. So a total of four weeks. I'm really glad because I don't feel ready for him to go back. Our job has been extremely understanding (we both work for the same hospital system). So I'm just feeling grateful today.

I have a sad random this week: My best friend passed away 8 years ago today... I’m so sad right now. I just want to cry all day... I miss her so much, I wish she were here to see this baby...
@the_other_mother some things are contagious before symptoms appear though. For example measles are contagious four days before the rash comes and though it is most contagious once the child has a cough it is still contagious before that. I wouldn't send my kid only because I'm sure or kids would end up being best friends and I wouldn't be having playdates for sure once my unvaccinated baby showed up on the scene
@smorzandoj I'm glad you are home. Did they have to give you anything to stop the contractions? @jenniferjoy37 I'm sorry about your friend. That is incredibly sad

I'm leaving a work trip tomorrow. Half the people I have meetings scheduled with don't know I'm pregnant. Trying to think of a professional way to say don't touch me if someone attempts to grope my bump. Everyone is a sales rep trying to get me to buy from them but I can't be rude. Suggestions??
Hold a folder or something in front of your bump so that there are no openings for people to stick thier hand in @chucksmom15. Sometimes I'll tell a funny story about people always trying to touch it and how word that is too me, that usually gets the point across.

A co-worker was sitting beside me at lunch one day. I had finished eating and was leaning back in my chair. She stroked her fingernail across my belly and said "Do we know what we're having."
EW! My response was to move my hands/arms over my belly and say "A baby."
@chucksmom15 Can you wear baggier clothes or a jacket or something to hide the bump? I know it’s getting harder to hide the bump now! But I agree with everyone else, try to put something in front of you... do you have a purse that has long straps? Maybe carry the purse in front of you.?

@smorzandoj I hope everything is ok! But I love that you’re still sassy even in LD for early contractions.
