I was going carb heavy with the pizza and pasta all first trimester. This week I decided to try to take it a little easy on the carbs. I pulled out my juicer and made a delicious concoction. Apple, cucumber, kale, and lemon. It was yummy! I'm making turkey burgers with avocado mash & sweet potato fries for dinner. Hopefully I can keep this up all week and reward myself with pizza this weekend. Lol
My husband brought hope so many chocolate chip cookies from Wegman's, as in a pound of cookies in a clear BUCKET. I have eaten at least half of them in the past 48 hours and don't think I will bet able to even relax until they are gone. With big glasses of organic whole milk. I have been eating lots of vegetables and brown rice and tofu in between to try to make up for it!
@bravoandprosecco I had tater tots and salad for dinner tonight! I had never had them anywhere other than as a very bad choice in a bar, and I was so excited when my husband brought home a bag of frozen ones yesterday and informed me that I don’t have to be drunk to eat them, that we can make them without the dirty fryer oil diarrhea, and I can eat them in my pajamas.
I'm still on my whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter and siggi's yogurt in the morning. It's soooo good. I did freak myself out a little bit because my MIL asked if I was still eating peanuts b/c of allergies and I said "Um yes I eat a ton of peanut butter every morning." I haven't double checked myself but I thought the research now says it's good to eat potential allergens during pregnancy?
@ksmwalters Yes! Eat away! Decreases chances of allergy in child. Same goes for introducing those allergy type foods (peanut butter, eggs, etc) earlier now. Lots of info on AAP.org if you want to read the most recent recommendations.
@npkat That's what I thought, but it's good to hear! Thank you for the link! Ugh I hate eggs though, so I'm definitely not eating those except when they're in baked goods.
Does anyone have advice for sneaking eggs into my diet? I've tried them every which way and I can't stand them when not pregnant, so I have a feeling I'll like them even less if I tried to start now.
@ksmwalters I dislike eggs as well. I always scramble one with parm cheese and throw it in boiling chicken noodle soup. Or on an egg sandwich. If the egg is fried I can stand to eat it once a week.
@ksmwalters@kalawa I also hate eggs! Even when they're baked into something, if it's a recipe with a lot of eggs, I can smell them and don't want to eat it! I just find other ways to get protein into things.
edit b/c yes to the tater tots! Ate some for lunch today. I've been careful to keep it to an actual serving instead of a huge mound of them. LOL
@ksmwalters@kalawa I can't eat eggs straight either. I can do it if it's in a breakfast taco with lots of salsa, or on a breakfast sandwich with cheese. My husband likes eggs, bacon, and toast sometimes for breakfast, and I just can't do the eggs by themselves. I need all the salsa to make them palatable.
I’m regretting my choice of Burger King for lunch today but really looking forward to the chicken broccoli and pasta bake we have tonight as leftovers. Yum. And I have been wanting chili for a week so that’s happening this weekend.
I've been craving bagels lately. Bought a 12 pack today at Panera to store in the freezer so I'm not tempted to stop everyday and pay for one at a time.

Yes @ksmwalters to the English muffin with peanut butter! I’ve been eating one every morning the last few weeks before work smothered with as much peanut butter as I can spread on there! So delicious!
@becausescience, those peanut butter snickers are my jam!! We went trick or treating last night and my toddler had so much fun. But he hates candy, sooooooo....

Carrots and hummus!! I guess it’s not that weird since that combo was/is one of my fave late night tipsy snacks, but MAN I’ve been eating a ton of it lately.

I've always had a sweet tooth but also been very good at maintaining a balanced diet. it seems impossible right now
Smarties candy! Had one little pack yesterday and now that's all I want and I'm VERY tempted to go out and buy a bag of them to keep in my work candy stash
Edit: I don't normally have such a sweet tooth but I do right now which is part of why I guessed I was having a girl because I had a lot of sweet cravings when I was pregnant with DD!
@mdfarmchick when my husband was gone for nine months doing training for his job, some days I would just need to get out of the house so badly that I drove 45 minutes just to get Dairy Queen.
One time I made the drive just to find out they were closed for the season.
Trying so hard to be good but I want a nice big cheeseburger right now and onion rings. I just don't know why I want fast food....prob once a week. What the heck! I guess its the salt and juicy meat....
