I know I'm not supposed to eat it, but I had the most insane craving for sushi tonight. So I ate it. (From a place where we get sushi all the time and I trust.) It was AMAZING. Also pork gyoza. Yum.
Y’all I just ate so much tomato basil soup at lunch that I’m just sitting in my car with the seat reclined trying to digest. It was soooooo good but I feel TERRIBLE ugh I don’t want to go back to work.
@heatherdubrow I would do a lot for some McDonald's right now. And I DO have to take both kids to hockey alone tonight...I think I deserve Mcdonald's later.
@heatherdubrow same. I realized I have started a habit of driving through McDonald’s every Tuesday after work for dinner for 2 plain cheeseburgers (with Mac sauce), fries and a yogurt parfait. Oh, and 4 nuggets with buffalo sauce. I feel so guilty but it’s just hitting the spot!

Recommendations on good grocery store ramen? It’s been a craving lately and what I have at the house is just the cheap square packs you can get five of for a dollar. I like them, but I’m wondering if there’s another brand that I would enjoy as well? I know I’ve seen quite a few people here talking about ramen.
I watched Food Network for about 4 hours last night which was a mistake. I love watching the holiday baking competitions and they had 3 hours of those type of shows on and then a show about cakes. As someone who is craving sweets constantly it made me want to wake my kids up and go drive them to our 24 hour grocery store to buy out the bakery at 11PM. As it is now, I still haven't had any baked goods and I'm seriously considering stopping on my way home to buy something because right now I'm too tired to bake and if my DH hasn't done dishes then I would have to clean dishes before even starting because a messy kitchen drives me nuts.
@justkeeptrying@bravoandprosecco omg y'all I wanted a glass of wine so bad tonight! I haven't really missed it but tonight it was just really craving one. I made myself some hot cocoa instead. It's not as good but it's pretty good.
@justkeeptrying@bravoandprosecco I've totally been doing sparkling grape juice, hahaha. I normally drink pretty sweet moscato anyway so the taste isn't off too much.
I'm craving foods we don't have access to like fresh crab legs, lobster tail, and sushi. On top of that, nothing tastes the same as it did pre-pregnancy. It's like everything has a metallic after taste. The only thing that tastes good is sugar and coffee. Thank goodness for multi-vitamins and dentists.
I bounce between being vegan and vegetarian and very selectively pescatarian. right now I can't resist salmon. I am being very careful about only buying it from sustainable sources, and I have some guilt, but my body is desperate for it. I have also eaten it raw twice, from a place I have been eating at for almost 11 years and totally trust, veggie sushi just wasn't cutting it. I am craving CHICKEN WINGS, and if I am going to give in and participate in some slaughter I feel better about wild salmon than sad captive bird lol.
@leilaquinn Have you ever made buffalo cauliflower "wings"? I LOVE cauliflower, so I'm kinda biased, but they are delicious. The best part about wings IMO is the spicy seasoning + blue cheese dressing combo.
ETA: my midwife was basically telling me to eat as much fish as possible (limiting the big ol mercury-carriers of course) cos the omega 3s are so good for baby's brain. Also, if I'm remembering correctly, they're good for migraines, too (which you are unfortunately dealing with, yes?). Are you taking a DHA supplement? I wonder if it might help mitigate your symptoms.
I’ve gotten back on the smoothie train HARD this week. I found a great smoothie mix at Publix with strawberries, cherries, blueberries, and kale, and I’m mixing that with a banana, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and vegan protein powder. YUM. Also the Tazo Mint Mosaic tea has been saving my life at work this week because I’ve been so cold. Plus it has a tiny bit of caffeine to give me a kick for the rest of my day.
@orbmaker I have made cauliflower wings and love them because I do love buffalo sauce (no blue cheese though!) but right now I am disgusting lol and it's the bony bird meat I actually want! I won't give in to that but the salmon thing I think is worth it, I do take an additional DHA suppliment but it is a vegan algae based one. I feel better every time I eat some nice wild pacific salmon, like I can actually feel by body thanking me for it and I do think fish caught in the wild from sustainable populations with no chance of any by catch is better ethically than an animal that suffers it's whole life in captivity. I didn't know it could help with migraines, but yeah any help there is worth it! eta: spelling
For some reason I'm always craving balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing and balsamic vinegar on things when I'm not around it (like at work) but when I get home and have the opportunity to actually eat balsamic vinegar it's not a big craving anymore. For example right now I'm thinking about the big juicy tomatoes that I have at home and how they would be wonderful on a salad with cheese cubes and balsamic vinaigrette dressing but I know that when I get home I'll most likely be too lazy to make it because the craving won't be as strong anymore
I had the best Talglatelle pasta with a mushroom panna sauce...drooooool, mista salad, and two apitizers that I can't even explain other than one was in a mushroom truffle sauce and the other was like a risotto cheese ball. One of the best dinners in a long time!!! Mmmmm
Breakfast. I really need a nice big hearty breakfast. Like a big cheesy, bacon-y omelet with hash browns and some cheesecake pancakes. With a huge glass of chocolate milk.
